“Just Don’t Blame Jason”

March 8th, 2018

Mrs. Grimes, wife of Brent Grimes, doesn’t sound confident about her husband’s future as a stud Buccaneers cornerback.

Where will Brent Grimes play this season?

It sounds like he won’t retire — and it feels like he won’t be in Tampa wearing a Bucs uniform.

The Bucs say publicly they want Grimes in 2018. And Grimes says he likes playing for the Buccaneers. But who wants to be underpaid? And when you’re entering what might be your final NFL contract for a team with massive available cap room, and that team has problems at the position, it’s reasonable to expect a top-shelf contract.

Joe doesn’t know what kind of offer has been put in front of Grimes by the Bucs. But this afternoon, Grimes’ wife, mercurial NFL superwife and professional podcaster Miko Grimes, fired off a Tweet that implies Team Glazer is limiting what general manager Jason Licht can spend on his No. 1 cornerback. (See below)

https://twitter.com/iHeartMiko/status/971797851926859776

Joe can say with certainty that Licht has a salary budget for the season. That’s just how it works. Ownership is always involved in shaping that.

But does Joe believe Licht is unauthorized to offer Grimes right now what he desires to stay? No, Joe doesn’t believe that for a minute.

It’s all very likely a free-flowing situation as the clock ticks on the free agency dinner bell, just six days away. There are plenty of negotiating tactics mixed with helpings of BS, plus whatever power plays go on behind the scenes.

None of it matters, though. If Grimes plays elsewhere this season, then you’ll know the Bucs didn’t want him.

  1. SteveK Says:

If Grimes goes to the Taints, and our owners elect to sit on their hands and leave our gm powerless. Than what a sham of an organization.

Embrace the suck Bucs fans, it’s going to be a long phucking season.

  2. feelthepewterpower Says:

The Buccs want him, but not at too corner back dollar. Grimes will likely go to a contender like a New england that just needs a piece or two.

  3. mike10 Says:

Be more like the lightning. Make me believe that when a player doesn’t return or when we bring someone back it’s for the betterment of the team..

  4. kevin Says:

the bucs have to spend and a lot…”The NFL’s collective bargaining agreement allows teams to carry over unused cap space from one year to the next. It also establishes a spending floor. Every four years, teams must spend at least 89 percent of their cap space in cash to avoid a CBA violation.”

  5. Steve in Mad Beach Says:

    Grimes 2, Licht 0

  6. Danglin71 Says:

I love how the ManU has the highest payroll in soccer , but the Glazers won’t give the cash it takes to keep the Bucs players or sign what they need!

  7. Marc Says:

    Hey Glazers,

SELL THE F***IN TEAM ALREADY! THIS IS A BUNCH OF HORSE SH…..

    -Infuriated Bucs fan

  8. kevin Says:

In my 29 years of being a diehard bucs fan…I’ve never has less faith in the organization than this past week. Even in 2009 when we cut DB55, WD28, and Galloway… at least we knew a full rebuild was coming and understood the process. Here we are not trying to improve and not folding for a rebuild. Licht and Koetter seem content to go 6-10 and lose their jobs it seems. If they don’t come out spending and address DE and RB heavily… I am finally ready to quit on this team. Also, absolutely must trade out of pick 7 unless Chubb or Barkley falls, a QB will be there and the bounty for that pick will be a no brainer to take vs. staying put and taking a developmental DE like Davenport or a slot corner like Fitzpatrick.

  9. Lamarcus Says:

What scared me is that Grimes and family probably looking for a final paycheck at “x” amount desire to win ( ?)

Don’t like him as my number 1 corner but damn that thought having just vh3 as top scares me even more. I’m going back and changing my heart…. Brent I’m sorry for being hard on you

  10. kevin Says:

calling it now… Phins will give up 11, 42, and 131 for 7 and 202. They come up for Mayfield or Rosen and we slide down to 11 and snag Davenport, Vea, or Denzel Ward.

  11. Arealbucsfan Says:

Can we start a petition joe? It sure seems like it’s the Glazers holding this team back. If they’re the reason why we can’t spend money then it’s time for them to sell. I’m tired of being in the top 5 of the salary cap space

  12. Drew aka q Says:

Ok this has reaffirmed me to not renew my tickets march 14th … if they are not willing to not have discussions with brent then its going to be a quiet free agency … already passed on 2 defensive ends that we desperatly need now this… this is that bull spit

  13. Mike Johnson Says:

Come on Guys, the way things have been goin..Does this even surprise you?
Grimes walks and..the BucLife contimues…..And you guys want to know why…I have always been..in an alcoholic slumber..Comfortably Numb on NFL Sundays while watching the Bucs? One day though..after these yrs of embarassment….

  14. LakeLand Says:

They will suck with Brent Grimes, they will suck without him

It’s all good in Sucksville, USA

  15. Arealbucsfan Says:

@Mike Johnson that one day will be when the Glazers sell this team to someone who wants this franchise to succeed

  16. Arealbucsfan Says:

The glazers can sell this team and focus on their precious soccer team. F THE GLAZERS!

  17. Buc believer Says:

I posted on here months ago Grimes wouldn’t be back. I had the pleasure of sitting with Miko at an away game and she all but confirmed it. Publically the Grimes camp said he wanted to stay but reading between the lines you could tell he was gone

  18. Waterboy Says:

This is what I’ve been wondering for the past couple of years, is it the cheap a$$ Glazers that won’t approve spending money in free agency or the GM being frugal. It looks like this may have answered my question.

  19. Waterboy Says:

Glazers need to just sale the team if this is true.

  20. John meeks Says:

Miko is pretty much telling us that the glazer boys don’t want to spend the money to not only sign grimes, but also not concerned about improving this team.we fans have been through enough with high culverhouse, please just sell the team.fans deserve better than what these clowns have given us.you glazer boys are a disgrace as owners of this franchise.you humiliate the entire city,go take care of your soccer team and sell the team you dips*its!what idiots!!!

  21. B Coburn Says:

This pretty muxh just confirms to me what Koetter meant when he said ‘he didn’t have the cash lying around for Calais Campbell’. There has been a lot of whispers about Glazers restrictions hoe much to spend on a player and I suspect that is why Koetter worded it that way.

  22. GhostofSchiano Says:

Manchester needs, Manchester fans come way before anything Tampa. Wish they would sell the team.

  23. John meeks Says:

A lot of people talk smack about tmax but I be damn if he isn’t calling it just the way it is!he has been truthful and correct about the glazer boys and I for one have opened my eyes now and realize that they just don’t care about winning, this city,or the fans.you clowns make me sick (glazer boys).to bad some of those Manchester United fans didn’t get there hands on them years ago (They tried).we may have a decent owner of they did!damn shame!!

  24. GhostofSchiano Says:

I’m willing to contribute to a billboard telling the Glazers to sell the team. I can see it now, no FA signings, everything will depend on the draft. Cheap a$$ glazers

  25. tmaxcon Says:

there truly is no hope with glazers calling the shots.

  26. First Down Tampa Bay Says:

FitzMagic now expected to return and backup JW

  27. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Demarco Murray being released by Tennessee

  28. buc4life Says:

Should we make a run a DeMarco Murray? Just got cut from Tennessee. I wouldn’t hate it. Him and guice would be sick.

  29. Howard Cosell Says:

Lol that everyone is just now figuring this out….welcome to the party

Howard tried to tell you back in 2006 that the glazer brats were cheap and didn’t give a pluck about NFL football.

FYI they won’t sell. They’ll try to move the team when the lease runs out at ray jay

  30. John meeks Says:

How could Malcolm glazer be so smart and care so much about winning but his sons be so ignorant and just plain stupid?I don’t get it,I mean these clowns are just plain damn stupid and even look stupid.chumps!!I’m so damn mad I’m about to blow a gasket

  31. Kevin Says:

Brent is a good 35 year old corner and probably worth about 3-4 a year. If he wants substantially more he needs to go elsewhere. Rather spend 7-8 on Talib or Sherman than 5 on Grimes.

  32. SteveK Says:

If true, what a crock of sh!t.

Glazers spend so much on kickball, but don’t have the passion necessary to have a winning nfl team.

    They flat out don’t care.

  33. derrickbrooksforGM Says:

Ya’ll dummies. Glazers gave Licht the company card the last 2 years and he absolutely FUKED up in FA. He lost their trust so the company card is back in the wallet and out of Licht’s hands. Glazer’s are smart.

  34. John meeks Says:

Kevin, what makes you think they will spend the money? They haven’t done anything yet! They had talented players right in front of them and didn’t do a damn thing.

  35. buddy Says:

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT SIGN GRIMES so his IDIOT wife can keep it moving to another city. They are not welcome here anymore. I know FOR A FACT that TEAM GLAZER and Licht do not want Grimes or his disaster of loudmouth wife back. She is partially correct tho.. TEAM GLAZER has Licht on a string like a little Bit$h puppet. Can’t blame Licht for everything except 1 HUUUGGGGGE mistake and thats his approval of hiring KLUELESS KOETTER. I can handle him being told to draft Roberto outta FSU and being their whipping boy on that decision. But the hiring of KLUELESS KOETTER is inexcusable. That shows a serious lack of good decision making on Lichts part.

  36. Pickgrin Says:

    “it’s reasonable to expect a top-shelf contract”

    For a 35 year old??? Cmon man….

Grimes is still playing at a high level – especially considering his age.

But his worth can’t possibly be more than $8-9M in 2018. Pretty sure no other team would pay him that much. His true market value is more like $6M – maybe 7. But the Bucs really need him back so overpaying a bit is OK.

Miko pulling out the social media games to try and get Brent’s contract offer up. Pretty smart actually.

CMon Jason and Brent – lets get this done!

  37. John meeks Says:

Dbrooksgm, yeah about as smart as you are.get the hell out of here.

  38. Howard Cosell Says:

    @derrickbrooksforGM

    glazer shill or idiot?

  39. webster Says:

Maybe the glazers are saying if this 35 year old corner wants 10 mil, tell him to kick rocks. I know many of you do not understand the value of money but grimes is not worth 8 – 10 mil at this point. Bye felicia

  40. Chris Rob Says:

yall are crazy, why all the glazers hate?? i dont get it…. did you yall see how much they spent last offseason?? and look at the results i wouldnt trust licht with my money either lol they should have just fired him but i guess we gotta wait another season.

  44. BetterBuccinBelieveIt Says:

Rick Stroud has already confirmed to PFT…

Fitzy is back for more!!! Wise Choice! Like Fitz1

    JBF didn’t have it though….

    Go Bucs!

  45. John meeks Says:

    Tmax,please set Chris Rob straight!another delusional fan!wow!!

  46. darin Says:

Yep with or without Grimes this team will blow without a 4 man rush. We’ve seen smitty wont adjust. Not sure where the other 3 men are coming from considering great pass rushers are getting unloaded for low round picks and Licht is low balling. Love Grimes but cmon man. This season could be a 1st overall pick season at this rate. Do play the browns this year so at least we can measure up and see where we are not at.

  47. webster Says:

    @ john meeks

Who would you rather sign for 9-10 mil???? Tremaine johnson/malcolm butler or grimes?

  48. John meeks Says:

Dbrooksgm, go get back in the bed with ronnie and donnie!

  49. derrickbrooksforGM Says:

Can’t believe the retards on this site defending Licht. This franchise is the abyss endlessly filling with dumbass tam-pons that don’t know football from the whole in the ground. Keep jumping into the stupid pit, ya knuckle dragging Neanderthals.

^^^You listen to 620…. now your idiocy is no longer in question.

  51. John meeks Says:

Webster,we need more than one cornerback!

  52. Tony from Los Angeles Says:

    This is such B.S.

Part of (a major part) of a GM’s job is to CONVINCE the owners of what moves he wants to make. Period. If Licht can’t do that – he certainly can’t convince other teams to trade with him either when young Pro Bowl talent is on the market for cheap.

I’m not a fan of resigning Grimes. It’s a band-aid fix that will just present the exact same problem again next season.

Licht has blown several terrific opportunities to upgrade becaUse he’s either asleep at the wheel, playing it too cute with his offers, or just not getting how rare it is to trade for Pro Bowlers still in their early primes.

He has one last chance to prove he’s capable for the job… Norwell.
The Giants are saying they have him in the bag. What are you gonna do, Light?

FIX THE TRENCHES, FIX THE BUCS!!

  53. I’m a Tandyman Bucs Fan Says:

Hey I for one am not going to give Licht a pass!!!! He has made some bonehead decisions on personnel that has the Bucs orginaztion in complete turmoil. The Glazers have just put the Cherry on top if this is true. They better spend some of that money on key personnel or those tickets that they raised prices on are going to be plentiful and Raymond James Stadium could be empty er quite often!!! Oh Tmax calling 4 & 12 May be close on his prediction Especially if Jameis is guilty!!!!

  54. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

    OMFG, TY Miko!
It IS The Glazers after all.
Joe, time for an emergency podcast ASAP
And, we need to get billboards up all over Tampa Bay like we did to get rid of Schiano, calling for The Glazers to sell the team.

  55. JimmyJack Says:

Now this is an interesting topic. Everybody wants to post on here acting like Licht can go crazy in free agency and never factor in that the owners set the bar(which is unknown to us).

If you noticed last year they gave him some spending freedom. He spent the brunt of that on DJax…..In other words he wasted it. Why did they give him more spending freedom? That’s likely because his team finished 9-7 and showed some promise.

Had they followed that season with more promise Licht likely would get more freedom and Grimes may not be an issue. But no, they aren’t going to let this guy spend a bunch of money for a scrubby 5-11 team that can’t even compete in their own division. Quite frankly, I can’t blame them. Maybe that’s why giving up a third rounder for Quinn was too high. Quinn eating up a lot of his spending freedom is likely a factor.

  56. John meeks Says:

Jimmyjack, then they should have fired the GM and brought a real football guy in!

  57. Buccaneer scotty Says:

    Welcome back Fitzpatrick!!!

  58. webster Says:

    @ johnmeeks

I know they need more than one cornerback! But you are not going to pay 2 cornerbacks 10 mil. Thats the point. So if you had to choose, are you telling me you would pay grimes the 10 mil with younger options? Thank god you are not the gm

  59. SteveK Says:

    Derrickbrooksforgm,

    Splendid job trolling!

Glazers arennot smart, they are losers as their football team is 5-11. Do we get any better next year?

  60. Howard Cosell Says:

    Lol @ derrickbrooksforGM

    Who hired Licht?
What is the on;y constant on the Bucs through 16 years of suck?
The trail of bodies leading to the glazer front door is long and circuitous

  61. John meeks Says:

Webster, don’t put words in my mouth, and miko didn’t say what Brent and his camp was asking!what makes you think butler or tremaine even wants to come here?would you want to leave new England and come to tampa?I doubt butler will do that sir!

  62. Buccaneer scotty Says:

They will go anywhere for a big deal! Especially if they won it all alredy!

  63. webster Says:

    @ johnmeeks

Obviously you did not see the superbowl last year when he was benched. Obviously you did not see last off season the pats signed gilmore to 60 mil. Its safe to assume that butler will not be back with the pats because smart gms like billechick do not pay two corner backs big time money. But obviously you missed the last 18 years of patriots football.

  64. John meeks Says:

Buccaneers scotty, wrong! How many free agents in the past said no way I would go play for the Cleveland browns!

  65. webster Says:

    @ john meeks

Oh and the way people like you speculate that licht didnt pursue a trade or speculate what he offered, i can speculate how much grimes want

  66. John meeks Says:

Webster, again don’t put words in my mouth.i know butler will not be back in new England sir!I said what makes you think he will come to tampa?Malcolm is a winner,he isn’t gonna put up with dumbass owners!

  67. Tackleblockwin Says:

Glazer boys = Laughing stock of NFL.

  68. John meeks Says:

Webster, speculate all you want but our GM has done nothing to better this football team yet!I’m waiting for a move to get this dline better!I Janet seen one yet!keep on speculating,I’m waiting for results!

  69. JimmyJack Says:

John Meeks……I hear ya with that. My personal though though is that a GM needs good football minds around him as well. When I see this team keep Doug Martin(who Dirk publicly lobbied for a day or so after his hire) and spend big money for a WR it really seems to me that Licht is using his coaching staffs evaluation as part of the process. Now, Licht is defientaly accountable for most of the blame because he has the power to yay or nay any move this team makes.

In the same manner I have to blame Lovies Smith for any moves the team made in Lichts first two years because Lovie had the power and was the guy who even brought in Jason.

You can also look at the way the team was built and they had focused on drafting heavy on offense the first two seasons 2014-15. At that point the focus should have stayed on getting the defense a steady flow of young players. Not bring in Hargreaves and Spence the refocusing back on offense in both draft and FA.

Yeah Licht has mad a lot of bad moves. And most of them scream Dirk to me. I don’t think the plan was to draft heavy on offense and sign a top tier WR for 5he offense to struggle to even move the ball every first half and not be able to score in the redzone.

I th8nk the coaching has been awful on this team in term of executing and evaluating their players and I see a major disconnect between the GM and HC. Every move Licht has made has produced nothing on the field.

  70. Ndog Says:

With each passing day I get more convinced this team is not good because of the cheap owners. Why is it we have heard about saving for the players extensions for 3 years yet none of them have been extended AND we open every season with tons of cap room?

  71. John meeks Says:

Webster, are you dbrooksgm boyfriend?just wandering sir!

  72. webster Says:

    @ john meeks

Did mcdonald and sweezy leave seattle for the bucs? Did dashon goldson leave 49ers in their hey day for the bucs? Did evan smith leave the packers for the bucs? How do you know butler will not come to the bucs? Oh i get it. You can “speculate” but i cant. That makes sense.

  73. John meeks Says:

Jimmyjack,I agree with you 100%!You called it that time!

  74. JimmyJack Says:

If I were in Jason’s shoes with one year left to hold my job I would have fired Dirk and Mike Smith and hired a defensive coach who could work with the core of this team and give better evaluations of its players.

But he’s obvisously must believe that this staff is capable of turning it around so I’ll just give him the credit that he knows more then I do and hope this team can show us something different on gamedays this year.

  75. webster Says:

    @ john meeks

Now i am your mothers boyfriend and i just may be your father but i told her i would not take a dna test

  76. John meeks Says:

Webster,I said to go ahead and speculate!read my post again!

  77. webster Says:

I meant no i am your mothers boyfriend

  78. John meeks Says:

Webster, leave my mom out of this, and I will leave this out of your mom!God loves you!

  79. JimmyJack Says:

But we will see. I really think Licht will do something different in his evaluation process this offseason. Hiring a bum like Baker to play on a already soft ass line was probably his worst decision since he has been here.

Not sure if he made that choice on his own or if he was listening to one of his defensive coaches. Whatever he did to come to that choice must change and I’m think he has to know that. Maybe that’s part of the reason they switched Dline coaches, I don’t know.

Whatever the case the coaching staff has one year to turn this team around. It’s usually pretty easy to see when a team is hungry to win, we hopefully know by game one. I hope we start off in Philly or something. A really tough game. Don’t need no false hope like last season when we opened against a garbage Bears team at home.

  80. John meeks Says:

Webster,we all know how you feel about your rainbow flag!!

  81. webster Says:

Thats why i did not take the dna test. I told her there was no way i made someone so dumb.

  82. John meeks Says:

Webster, don’t concern yourself with a DNA test ,worry about getting a hiv test bro!

  83. JimmyJack Says:

Reguarding the CB position. It really may not be in Lichts best intrest to overpay for Grimes. Grimes best fit TrueType may be one a team that is one CB away from doing something. The Bucs are not one CB away from anything.

That may not be true in another year but CB is a deep position this year. A good plan maybe to sign one of the younger options and then draft another. Our best option at #7 could be CB. There may not be a positions we need without top ten value except corner.

The biggest thing I don’t like about losing Grimes is that you know what your getting with him. With a FA you don’t.

  84. John meeks Says:

    Webster,God loves you I dont!

  85. JimmyJack Says:

Don’t know what you guys are arguing about but Webster is one of the more sensible posters on JBF. Not the typical kneejerker that you mostly see. Not to say you’re not John. Haven’t seen you post here before.

  86. John meeks Says:

Jimmyjack, I know you are trying to be positive but results are what matter.so far it isn’t going well this offseason.its early but our GM best have one heck of a plan and surprise us all or it’s going to be a very long season!

  87. John meeks Says:

Jimmyjack,Webster started on me!I got his number though as you can see!I can sing it and bring it!I’m the right one to get his a**right!he won’t call me out anymore by the time I’m done with him!

  88. Bird Says:

She is a Savy business woman for her husband.

These are power moves on both sides. Bucs made offer and grimes family want more so she says ok. Saints then ?(who are in division …surprise surprise )

Would be shocked if he plays somewhere else. Although He might if she starts using the Racist slang term for previous owner

  89. Knucknbuc Says:

Can’t blame the glazers 4 saying nah f that 2 Jason pale ale. Did you see how much this idiot had signed baker 4? What about keeping crap Marin last year. Glazers arent stupid they know this mfer don’t know crap about player performance 2 pay. I wouldn’t give licht my debit card 2 go grab a 6 pack this mfer would probably come back with sparkling water.

  90. JimmyJack Says:

John the way I see it is that I got angry enough at the entire season. The Bears game aside I was disgusted with this team from start to finish. I don’t know where some of these fans get off happy about our “effort” in the last five games or what ever……….All I saw was a team finish 1-4. Continued to not be able to move the ball in the first half against Falcons. Continued to be unprepared to stop the Panthers pass rush again!!!! Giving up 8 sacks and 16 QB hits is nothing to applause IMO…..We beat the Saints after making dozens of mistakes and letting them burn us on the edge with their running game and never adjusted. And we won in the last second because our QB didn’t listen to an awful gameplan by his Coach.

I held that anger for 6 months through the SB. I’m over it now. I know enough about football that things in this day and age can turn in a hurry if you make the right moves and can get the right attitude. My only question is if this coaching staff is the right one to get the job done.

The free agent and draft moves are very important, of course. But I am mostly looking forward to coming here during training camp and seeing what the reports are. Getting the right attitude and having leaders(sorry, not McCoy. Quit dreaming y’all) step up will be the key factor IMO.

    GOO BUCS!!!!

  91. Bobby M. Says:

Newsflash…..we had Grimes last season, he wasn’t a difference maker. There’s no pass rush….plain and simple. Over paying one aging vet to possibly lock down one receiver does nothing. They just attack the other mismatches…..and did so successfully all season. I would honestly rather load up the line and put Hargreaves and another avg CB back there with Evans playing ball hawk then worrying about getting one more season from Grimes.

  92. mark2001 Says:

If Brent wants a ring, he certainly won’t stay here. If he thinks the team won’t be a .500 team next year, he knows Licht and Koetter will be escorted out the door. And then he would end up with a new GM and HC. Why would he want to put up with that?

  93. Bird Says:

Grimes not interested in ring. Trust me.

    Highest bidder

    $$$$$$$$

  94. martinii Says:

And the winner is “WEBSTER.” While Grimes is a good corner he is not worth the money. I can guarantee that’s what the Glazers told Licht. It is refreshing to see an occasional positive post. Go Buc’s

  95. JimmyJack Says:

Agree with Bird…..We also need a longer term solution at corner and there are options in free agency who won’t cost much more then Grimes will want. Unless Grimes will play here for a discount it’s time to move on. Get younger in FA/Draft.

And if this staff can’t develope a CB you still draft him I’m a strong class. Our next staff will need the talent to work with.

  96. JimmyJack Says:

    *** in a strong class***

  97. Clw JB Says:

In true buccaneer fashion, Grimes will be playing for the New Orleans Saints next year and he’ll intercept Jamess at least three times in our two contests –

This front office is either asleep at the wheel or they have some tricks up their sleeve.

The former is far more likely than the latter of course

  98. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

She’s bluffing. She mentioned the Saints to apply pressure. Not blaming Licht to keep things friendly.

We all know the Glazers would not interfere with bringing him back. Maybe she is asking for a huge payout, in which case I agree the Bucs should pay it. I’m in favor of a decent one though. It;s Miko’s job to milk as much out of the deal as possible.

All this does is confirm that they are in talks.

“Agree with Bird…..We also need a longer term solution at corner and there are options in free agency who won’t cost much more then Grimes will want. Unless Grimes will play here for a discount it’s time to move on. Get younger in FA/Draft.”

When a player proves he can carry his weight…you do your best to keep him. Even if we draft a CB, it will be 1-2 seasons before he is much good. Look at VHIII for an example of that. Fans tend to give up on players about 1-2 years too soon around here. He;ll have a great season this year, and then all the haters will pretend they never wanted him gone.

It doesn’t matter though if Grimes is not a long term solution. He’s good, he’s mostly healthy. He produces. Bring him in again.

So far as these other options, none of them are nearly as good as Grimes.

  100. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Sherman might be close though.

I hate to admit it, because I think he’s a punk…but I’d rather have him than Talib.

  101. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

NO WAY ON SHERMAN, he was on downside and now has 2 busted ackhillees, get some average FA corners and its an upgrade

  102. Not there yet Says:

Look at what happened to rice, lynch and Brooks. These owners done want to overpay for old players and I don’t blame them. Pay the top corner in free agency that money and be done with it.

Or better yet if you want big free agent money from the glazers how about you explain why they should give you that when Ryan Smith had to guard Julio Jones? No wonder your stats were so great. You don’t pay that to someone who’s thinking about retirement

  103. Howard Cosell Says:

A lot of astroturfing goes on in these comment sections when it comes to the glazers money.

  104. BigAlbinoDonky Says:

She mentioned Jeff Ireland because he’s the guy that got heat for asking Dez Bryant if his mom was a prostitute….I think she’s insinuating that the Dolphins owner was the one that actually asked it. She loves these NFL conspiracy theories. She also said that the Raiders’ O-line let Derek Carr get hurt last season because he’s a real bible-thumper and told them to stand for the anthem.

  105. destinjohnny Says:

rays and the Bucs owners have a lot in common and I mean a lot

  106. Joel Says:

So it’s the owners fault this team hadn’t done well with free agents even going back to Gruden?

This team is going to be 4-12 this season no matter who is signed. Horrible coaching staff.

Sign a bunch of crappy free agents and Bucs fans complain. Don’t sign a bunch of crappy free agents and Bucs fans still complain.

  107. TampaTown Says:

    Buccaneer Bonzai:
You got that right. Miko knows exactly what she’s doing. Check out her IG, a lot of people think she should be an NFL agent but she says she’s not interested in that. I say pay the man, keep him here.

  108. denjoe Says:

The media kept crying about them firing coaches, every two years so they are throwing this year away! If we luck out and win, they win, if we lose they hire a new coach and GM. So they don’t really give a spit. They know Dirk can’t get anyone to the SB, and Jason can’t build a team!

  109. Duke Says:

    BigAlbino,

Miko is acknowledging that Jeff Ireland’s hands were tied by ownership. Ireland was the one who wanted to pay Brett , resigning him w the fins. Ireland is currently with the Saints and has in short time revamped their defense.

As for her Carr story, I don’t think I’d dismiss it so easily. She is in a great position to hear info from the inside of a locker room. I have zero opinion if it’s true or false but considering the source I think it’s possible. Put it this way, the scenario which she said caused the incident isn’t a stretch to accept nor is the reaction. It’s also in line with the other stories, which where vague, that reported turmoil in the team’s locker room.

  110. BeingTheThunder Says:

I’m okay with letting him walk. My list below is a list of CBs available that are better than Grimes

    Richard Sherman
    Trumaine Johnson
    Prince Amukamara
    Bashaud Breeland
    Malcolm Butler
    T.J. Carrie
    Morris Claiborne
    Patrick Robinson
