Never Quit

December 21st, 2017

Professional.

The Bucs aren’t in the playoffs.

And when they are down in the second half, America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, isn’t going to do what so many haters want from him: to lay down when trailing.

(Folks who constantly b!tch about Jameis’ stats being garbage time numbers tell Joe they actually want the Bucs to lose, that they don’t want the Bucs to fight and scratch and claw their way back into games. They want the Bucs to quit. They want the Bucs to lay down for opponents. Is this a gambling issue or something?)

Mike Evans isn’t one of those quitter types. He’s a fighter. He’s a gamer. He’s a pro.

Evans, as the Bleacher Report slideshow below points out, noted that he is being paid to bust his arse on the field and that’s exactly what he will do.

if these guys favor their coaches one bit they will play hard these last 2 games some of them may not be here next year, coaches and players both– play the upset card these next 2 weeks we are playing divisional foes who are battling for playoff spots lets be the dagger in their fight!

Nice to see, but they should be used to it because we are always in this position.

Might be a good free agent attraction. Play for the bucs, home for the holidays every year.

It would be nice if they didnt have to fight, scratch, and claw to get back into games. Just sayin

Worker mind set they have but it’s the “I just work here” worker mind set.

Evans is another player who needs to work on his game. The competition raised the bar this year and he did not raise his game to match it. He quits early on routes at times when he knows he is not getting the ball; DJAX does same thing in fairness. We saw on MNF that he still has not learned how to get a penalty called on the DEF player…there is a bit of skill to that when it comes to positioning for the ball or the call. He spends too much energy on arguing and letting players talk/get to him. We saw that in NO game with Lattimore. We saw him barking late at refs in ATL game on OPI call late. This is a pattern of behavior that he needs to understand will never benefit his team. The only time anything can be done about it is during the play not after. I think he has the work ethic but not sold he has the right training/coaching.

That’s why we shouldn’t tank. Tanking is for losers and will only further instill the losing culture into this locker room.

Mike is like I need a new contract why would I quit on the season

Players have incentive bonuses that keeps the motor running hard. I had a client with the Bucs that got $50,000 for every sack. That kind of bonus in each check keeps them playing hard. The only issue when a season is lost is if they begin to focus too much on individual plays vs keeping their assignments. When they start trying to do too much, fumbles occur, they dont stay in gaps, etc….the little details start to get ignored. They all understand the tape doesn’t lie and they are always playing for their next contract.

The only guys that tend to check out are the ones that are ready to quit football/call it a career. The coaches know who they are and if they keep rolling them out there, then that’s on the coaches and locker room for accepting a weak effort.

Evans will play regardless. But Koetter cannot afford to get blownout either of these last 2 games. A blowout will cause the Glazers to pull the trigger. But they should send DC pressbox Smitty packing..NOW!!!

Got ya, Play crappy offense when you are in a game, otherwise scratch, claw, and fight. Here is a novel concept play a complete game for 4 quarters and we don’t have too read this stupid article.
