Match-up Favors…

Redemption?

Could the Bucs hold a magic elixir to shut down Buffalo’s offense?

To be polite, Buffalo’s offense stinks. Not quite as bad as the Bucs’ defense on the road in the first half of games — the Rosie O’Donnell of NFL defenses — but bad nonetheless. The Bills rankings of No. 31 in total offense and No. 30 in passing offense demonstrate this.

And don’t expect a breakout from Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor. That’s the word from former NFL suit Michael Lombardi. Speaking on his podcast with “The Ringer,” Lombardi believes the Bucs have the perfect defense to stifle Taylor.

“The teams that give Buffalo problems this year are teams that run a zone,” Lombardi said. “And Tampa, that’s all they do is run zone.”

The key here is containing Shady McCoy. So long as the Bucs’ defense feels like playing and doesn’t roll over like a cheap business woman on the Las Vegas Strip, the way they shat over themselves last week as if a 32-year old running back was Walter Payton in his prime, perhaps the Bucs will be OK today?

Shucks Joe, you jinx every game by talking about something about the other team the Bucs should handily exploit. Case Freakin’ Keenum, weak O line and old QB in ARI, or the last-in-league D of the Patriots. They all looked GREAT against the Bucs. Evil, spiteful, all the things bad for the Bucs. You should try a week of absolute negative “Tom Jones” style leg whacks heading into games, and that will put a spell on the Bucs in a good way. Yeah, I admit, the Bucs also have a little bit to do with their performances! Bogga Hex!

The magic elixir has the ingredient of GMC putting down his dolls for an afternoon and actually playing some football!

  3. Roy T. Buford Says:

In all seriousness, I do expect a good performance today. Hopefully 4pm brings happiness that lasts a week, and can be continued same time next Sunday here at home. C’mon Bucs! Don’t turn any more stinkers this year. You have to go 8-3 for any post season hopes. Yikes!

  4. Captain Big Stick Says:

Yes, we run a wide open zone.. usually located on or around Vernon “Cream Puff” Hargreaves 3rd edition..

  5. Captain Big Stick Says:

AKA the VHIII EZ zone.. specializing in soft coverage

  6. Lamarcus Says:

    Cover “zero” ?

  7. Lamarcus Says:

It’s hard to say if we will be ok in against the run. I could not humanly image this happens twice in back to back weeks. Can’t piss yourself twice. It will otherworldly if this happens today

  8. SB Says:

If we lose today it is time to start the “Tank for Barkley” campaign

  9. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

I see today as a MUST WIN.
Somehow, someway , we have to find a way to dig ourselves out of the hole we have put ourselves into.
We need to win, and get some Mojo, to carry into our game with the Panthers in Tampa next week.

  10. Mike Johnson Says:

Just WIn Bucs. That changes everything from attitude to negative comments. Find a way..dig deep..WIN! We lose this one and its gonna set a dark table for the Panthers the following game. Again, it just depends on which Defense shows up. Our Offense will score. But can we stop anybody? We shall see here in a few hours.

  11. Zwak Says:

as long the Bucs defense feels like playing..

Very well said Joe sad but true!

The crazy part is this team could blow them out or get blown out, we are very unpredictable as to what Bucs team will show up week to week.

  12. JonBuc Says:

Time to deliver on that lucrative extension, Smiley Smith. And of course build up more fake demand for your head coaching prospects.

  13. EA Says:

Dirk’s excuse is going do be, we haven’t faced a mobile QB like Tierod yet, it was hard stopped him and shady, we gotta go back in the drawing board. I take full responsibility for this loss.

  14. Joeypoppems Says:

Yea sure the Bills might struggle against zone defenses. They havent played a zone defense as bad as this one tho…

  15. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Running zone all the time has been our vulnerability. It should be a mxture, not strictly one.

  16. Capt.Tim Says:

    Taylor is talented.
    But young.

    We cant cover.
We cant rush( other than McCoy)

But we can blitz. And it might work against Taylor.
Wont work against any NFC south QB.

Might as well try it today

  17. Joel Says:

Is Porcelain Kwon playing today? If so, we hold their sorry offense to under 40 points. If not, they score 50. Our defense is a joke.
