When Joe jumped off his couch, nearly hitting the ceiling and spilling his Bud Light all over the living room, Joe couldn’t remember the last time he was so geeked over a play.
It was about to be a game-winner. A game-turning play. Possibly righting a ship of a season that looked about to be doomed.
Yes, Joe should have known better.
Mike Smith’s ole defense did it again. Coughing up a three-play, 75-yard drive just after the Bucs took a touchdown lead late in the fourth quarter.

What, did the Bucs (Smith) not know Deonte Thompson was on the roster? The way Thompson was so wide open, it was if he was a bill collector or a telemarketer.
And then, on the first play on the ensuing drive, what looked to be a safe, smart play, Rudy Humphries fumbled on the Bucs-33.
And on that play, the playoffs, or a shot at a playoff run, very likely was fumbled away, too.
Nice of the Bucs to play Santa Claus. Hope the Bills are kind enough to offer up a gift in return. You know, like a friggin’ defensive end?

I am amazed at all you Buc fans who don’t know when a defensive player is good or bad. 90% of the runs other than the QB running were where our LB’s were suppose to be and if they were there with our DB’s , they missed the tackles. Watch film and you will see who is playing football and who is collecting a paycheck. It shows you how bad this whole defense is when Arizona can’t score today and we made them look like super bowl champs. Smith is running this piss poor team and all blame starts with him.

I knew they would find a way to lose. This is the Bucs way. The Bucs have stunk pretty consistently since Malcolm R.I.P passed. I believe the Glazers want to win and are spending the money but they need a really smart Football adviser to help them pick winning GM and Coaches. We have had multiple GM’s, coaches and players with the same results. Only the Glazers are the one common thing.

Jason Licht has done a few good things. no doubt. But his failures to improve the trenches is crushing us. Jameis sack-fumbled because Licht’s pick of Donovan Smith whiffed badly. We have absolutely no holes opening in the running game. Our defensive line might as well not even be out there it is so pathetic. Oh, and 1st round pick VH3 is playing like a 7th round pick. A couple good picks does not make up for all of these deficiencies. And then we have Mr. Koetter and Mr. Smith who cannot coach their team any worse. These players play with no sense of urgency. The playcalling is incredibly uneven. Something will work, and then we do not come back to it ever again. Awful in all dimensions. Let’s fire everyone, and pay Gruden whatever he wants and get this ship righted.

The Bucs have gotten solid play from the LBs. If the DL can’t penetrate and make sacks happen, the 4-3 alignment is a waste of everyone’s time. Might as well let McCoy clog up OL and allow the LBs to blitz and make plays. Time for some extended 3-4 looks

Again, worst play calling I’ve seen, though better than last week. Why throw bombs on 3rd down when you are five yards outside of FG range? Dumb. Why not go for two 20 yard pass plays with 14 seconds left? Even on the last play they had a shot to get into FG range and out of bounds. Why throw short passes end of first half when you need long ones?

This loss isn’t on McCoy or Winston. It really amazes me how football challenged some bucs fans are. Winston played well all game and McCoy had a good game. He pushed the pocket all game WITH being double teamed. Which means everyone else was one on one. But no one’s calling out any other lineman.
I wasn’t going to engage in this one but people saying trade McCoy don’t really understand football. Or Winston had a bad game don’t know football. The defense as a whole lost the game for us. 3 plays 75 yards. Ok that was bad. But the chance to stop them 3rd and 7 and gave up a 9 yard run to a third string running back did it for me. Inexcusable

Trading for a DT is not the solution. If we don’t make the playoffs, then our draft picks are at a premium. We should not give any up. The focus should be on acquiring picks, not giving them up.

Not an optimistic bone left in my body. We do not deserve Jameis. He leads a great 4th quarter comeback only to have Mike Smith and his band of softys give it up in three plays. So many expectations only to have us looking towards next year and the offseason after six games. I’m disgusted. I really regret wasting one of my days off letting the Bucs devastate and disappoint every weekend. I’ll be in RayJay next Sunday cheering them on, because I’m a sucker. What the F kind of defense is this? Why the F are we not covering the sideline on the same side as they show 3 recievers? This is a freaking abomination. We pulled the same garbage last week when we didnt cover the entire endzone which was 10 yards away.
This team is never prepared and our defense doesnt know their assignments. Our players just continuely look lost on the field on a weekly basis. Apparently there is no accountability here in TB. The same problems every week only to give us the same look and unprepared football. Absolute waste of talent from a bottom barrell-scub coaching staff.
Its obvisous this poor-quality coaching will lose the locker room. By next year nobody will be wanting to come to TB and our talented players will be wanting to play out their contracts and go to cities that know how to prepare a football team.

Bucs have the Panthers at home, the Bucs have to win that and the Panthers aren’t that great, so the Bucs should be 3-4, then they go onto the road against the Saints, they’ll lose and be 3-5, then you got the Jets (w), Miami (w) and at the Falcons – at team that Winston is 3-1 against and 2-0 in Atlanta, I say they get a win. Then at the Packers, without Rodgers, that better be a win, then the Lions at home, a game Tampa ALWAYS loses, so that’s a L. Then the Falcons at home, which is probably a L, then the Panthers on the road, which is an L then the Saints at home which is a W.
So…8-8
If Dirk figures out that when your defense is awful you shouldn’t punt from the other teams 40 yard line on 4th and 3 then since the other team is just going to march it down the field and score anyways – then perhaps the Bucs can do even better than I expect. Then again it’s taken Dirk a season and a half to remember what a playaction pass was and to run it on first down – something he finally seemed to figure out today for the first time as head coach. If the Bucs accept they have a garbage defense with some top flight talent and ZERO depth and try to outscore everyone and the midget isn’t fumbling the game away, perhaps they can flip one of those L’s to a W.

That how bad the DE situation is here!!! You see, for most teams, they are hoping the DE gets the pressure and that the DT just does what he’s supposed to which is plug up holes and take up blockers. If we had even backup quality level talent at DE, we would actually have a defense.

Well this week it is on the defense. Giving up a 3 play 70+ yard drive for them to tie the game in 40 seconds is inexcusable.
And Im sure they are “trying” to score 30+ a game on offense. Probably explains the deep shots on 3rd and short when you’re 5 yards out of FG range. Those, imo, go on Jameis’ decision making as much as Koetter’s play calling.

The McCoy era we’ll end sooner or later because if his age. Having him isn’t producing wins so at least allow him to do something for you suck as provide a high draft pick for ammo to replace him.

@mark I answered your question but let me explain further…I watched these bucs lose the past 3 games by 13 combined points! so what that tells me is that every game that we lost we def could have won! with that being said I can see us going on a 5 game win strk at what point of the season I don’t know! but this isn’t a bad team like a lot of “bucs Fan” feel! this season is far from over our division is just as unstable thank God! two weeks from now we can be tied top of our division with a win at panthers and saints! I been a fan since “98” I’m only 28. But I hate bucs fans yall give up too quick! yall too sensitive! fans calling for koetter to get fired trade McCoy bench Winston smh I cant take it!!! R-E-L-A-X!!! for life sake Aaron Rodgers is out for the season and they still predicting packers to get a win and make the playoffs! green bay fans for example are tru fans bucs fans got some work to do before we can complain like its the 90’s its not! ray jay is completely different worst fan club in the nfl….do better
