GMC Carted, Too

September 24th, 2017

More injury news.

It gets worse.

While the media scrum filed into the Bucs locker room, Joe noticed stadium and Bucs team officials pulled up the dreaded cart to front door of the locker room at U.S. Bank Stadium.

So Joe hung out waiting to see if Lavonte David would be carted out of the locker room. Just minutes before, Joe had seen the cart pull up with David in it, and David had to be helped by two trainers to the locker room. He could not walk under his own power and he was in pain.

But to Joe’s shock, it wasn’t David who was carted out of the locker room, but Bucs stud defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.

Now GMC walked to the cart, albeit gingerly, and the cart took off to an X-Ray room, Joe is guessing. GMC still had his left shoe on but there was no shoe or sock or wrapping of any sort on his right ankle, which was shown as the problem on TV.

The Bucs are down Lavonte David, GMC, Noah Spence, Brent Grimes and Kwon Alexander for who knows how long, and the Bucs have to play two games in 11 days.

Might be time to break out the rosaries.

Well the offense just has to go out and win games then – so Dirk will have to scrap his first half playbook of running up the middle for 1 yard on every first down and actually get creative. Lets see how the week goes and how everyone is. The Giants are imploding and it seems like they hate their coach, so hopefully they’ll quit on him and give us a W. If not perhaps the Glazers can step up and buy some refs like the Vikings and Falcons did today.

  2. DB55 Says:

Lvd is the biggest lose imo.

  3. Bculaw Says:

If LVD can’t go, do you keep Backwith at MLB and move Kwon to LVD’s spot? Beckwith was solid in the middle for the most part today – one of the few bright spots on D. Kwon has speed and explosion to match LVD. Curious if this could happen.

  4. Joel Says:

It’s time to evaluate why this franchise has so many injuries year in and year out. It’s absurd.

  5. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

    Worst Sunday ever

  6. Joe Says:

    Worst Sunday ever

    Might be.

  7. Mike Johnson Says:

Its time to evaluate? You kiddin me? No. Its time to WIN. Every team in this league has injuries..year end and yr out. Injuries are just..plausible pretext..bad teams use..to hide behind..their failures!! Every GD yr for us its..Mr. Coulda, Brother Shoulda and Mrs Woulda. And if somebody here says they know we are going to beat the Giants next week? I’m gonna flat out laugh’em into the Don Rickles hall of fame! No excuses. Plug in your 2nd teamers and get her done. Other teams do it..Everybody except our Bucs. NEXT!!

  8. DoNUTS Says:

Bucs took several steps back today. Losing GMC would be devastating. This DEF has ZERO ability to get to the QB and until that changes the losses will pile up.

ANOTHER LOST SEASON???????????? When the F&*% is this gonna end?

  10. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

btw…did anyone notice all the Chop Blocks and holding the Vikings were getting away with?

How many of these injuries today are knee injuries? There’s your reason.

  11. Rads Says:

Something has to be said for having had 3-4 weeks off for our top players leading into our first games. Bodies weren’t ready.

    I agree with this statement.

Look, what we’re going to see is guys on the practice squad getting activated, and guys who would have been backups getting starting opportunities. Guys like Beckwith (who will probably fill in for David) or Bully (who will get activated from the PS to fill-in and backup/rotate with Kwon.

I’m excited to see Beckwith grow as a starter if David (who has grown very little in the last few years) is out.

And Bully? He’s green, but he has as much heart as Kwon. With good coaching he could become very good.

My biggest concern is Cornerback…and the replacement for McCoy…who I guess will be Clinton McDonald.

  13. Rod Munch Says:

Rads – Great point, someone adding something original to the conversation and not whinning about how the season is lost and we need to rebuild.

Do us a favor and leave. If you are giving up already, we don’t need you. We are 1-1. The season is NOWHERE NEAR TO BEING OVER!

We still have an offense (obviously it needs work, but it will improve) and the only depth concerns on defense is CB and behind McCoy.

  15. Upthegut Says:

We were awful but I agree that the Vikings should have been flagged several times
for obvious holding infractions and were not. Home cooking??????

  16. Rod Munch Says:

I’d like to add to what Bonzai said except suggest that instead of leaving, that you drive to the top of the Skyway and jump off. You won’t be missed.

    God bless.

  17. RayJameisStadium Says:

DISASTER SUNDAY may cause Joe to change the theme of Den of Depression to season of depression.

We might be competing for the basement with New Orleans by the end of the season.

  18. sorryitriggeredyou Says:

@Rod Munch I’d say eat a d$%k but apparently you already do that.

  19. Bucamania Says:

Their safety was targeting all day. Brate, Evans, Hump. Not one flag.

  20. Dewey Selmon Says:

Any word if Evans injured himself fighting sideline equipment? Or did he pull something kneeling perhaps?

  21. Ndog Says:

BonzaI when will it get better cause we have been waiting 15 years?

  22. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I hate to mention this name…I really do. But Darrelle Revis is out there, isn’t he?

  23. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Ndog, when the fans grow some backbone and start believing EVEN after a loss.

  24. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    1-1 PEOPLE!

Get over your whining! we are at .500 thus far!!!!

  25. Bird Says:

    Bonzai= good stank weed

Yah. Lavonte is not so good.

Please stop commenting . You said you were out earlier. It hurts when you make these comments. He hasn’t grown to much while you are growing fields of weed in your back yard

  26. unbelievable Says:

    That officiating was absolute garbage.

Targeting is no longer allowed, yet they teed off on our receivers’ heads all day. Plus tons of holding. Garbage. Not saying we would have win but at least officiate evenly. It really ruins the game has been getting much worse over the last 3 years.

  27. Dooshlarue Says:

    Hey trainers:
How about more stretching and less weights.
    Makes sense to me.

  28. Buc believer Says:

Of course he would use the cart to leave the field. It adds to his excuse as to why he sucked. Dude is an excuse maker. In the seven years he has been here he has had 42 sacks and also has helped a ton of guys up after he tackles them. Compare that with Sapp who had 63 and stood over them and spit on them. I will take Sapp thank you.

  29. NFLNut Says:

I’m more worried about Spawn than anyone … if his shoulder is an annual thing, might need to forget about him ever realizing his potential and draft TWO pass rushing DE’s in the next year or too … and I hate saying that as I love Spawn

  30. tmaxcon Says:

No surprise gmc needed a cart he’s the most fragile player in team history. Cancer93 strikes again no Kwon no defense.

  31. CitruscountyBUC Says:

What a bunch of soft fans on here. Didn’t Ira write an article about how things are going well now but there will certainly be times when things aren’t going so well? We are 1 and 1 and all the bandwagoners are jumping off so fast it’s ridiculous. Just have patience and let things play out before you freak out ladies.

  32. tmaxcon Says:

Joe you’ve spent far too much time a drag queen shows IF you consider that fragile soft ice cream man a stud

GMC is simply the face of the basement years and the captain of the injury report nothing more

  33. Saskbucs Says:

Bucs are only team in the NFL with 3 expensive cryo chambers. Being an athlete myself and from what I know of these things, they should help immensely in recovery and overall body well being, keeping the body fresh. Obviously not
