Joe is convinced there are a number of Bucs fans, Gerald McCoy haters, who rejoiced in glee when they learned GMC would not play tonight.
Well, these same GMC haters need to put a sock in their pieholes. Bucs fans got a window into what the defensive line would be like without GMC. There was no pass rush to speak of against the bungling Browns in the first half.
Joe Thomas ate Mr. Beasting, Robert Ayers, for a late-night snack.
If you didn’t see Noah Spence on the field, then you wouldn’t have known he was there (until the third quarter when Gumby got a sack caused by a Robert McClain blitz–yay!).
To his credit, practice-hating, kicker-heckling, tree-grinding Swaggy Baker made a play early, but not a sack. No, the play wasn’t on one of the palm trees in the south end zone.
Joe is convinced Browns quarterback DeShone Kizer has the Ebola virus because Bucs defensive linemen had no desire to come close to him.
So you GMC haters who wish he played anywhere but in Tampa Bay, this is your window into the future. This is what your defensive line looks like without its stud defensive tackle.

I did not see a pass rush tonight. I saw the opposing QB’s drop back..(rook at that)order a Subway, Pause..then complete many passes. But wait..My eyes deceive me..Its all..FAKE NEWS!!!

You would think the other lineman would learn from someone as good as McCoy. Pass rush looks to be the achilles heel once again.

McCoy is the best DT in Tampa bay History. He reminds me of the Greatest DE in Buc history- LeeRoy Selmon. Selmon was the Greatest DE of his Time. He was an absolute Monster.
I had the Pleasure of meeting him. I was just a boy. He was the nicest, friendliest man I had ever met. Its probably why I have remained a Buc fan my whole life. He was that impressive.
Selmon barely edged The Great Simeon Rice- who belongs in the Hall of fame
McCoy is, and has been, the only Defensive linemen we have. Period
We do not have another quality starter on that line. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. Its Absolutely criminal that the Team hasnt gotten him any help on that line. And if you watched the game tonight, you wont bring up Ayers or Spence. Joe Thomas wasnt the only one to destroy them. Every Cleveland linemen they faced destroyed them.
Chris Baker showed some quicks tonight. Meybe he can help Gerald.
Gerald McCoy is an absolutely monsterous DT. Without him- we can only generate pressue by blitzing 2 or 3 guys.
Brady, Ryan, Rodgers, or any other good QB will rip your defense apart if you try that.

I have come to the conclusion that the McCoy haters are nothing but a bunch of actors, caricatures, not much different from the wrestlers playing the heel to draw heat for entertainment purposes. It is their online persona that they have strived to build over a period of years in order to gain notoriety.
It’s the only logical explanation since I find it pretty much beyond belief that people can be that ignorant and shortsighted in the face of so much evidence that counters their “opinion” .

Every time you bring up Gerald McCoy the trolls come out. It’s one thing to have an opinion on poor play or even be critical on McCoy’s impact here throughout his career but some of these mouth breathers are flat out trolling. I am not suggesting readers don’t have differing opinions or readers don’t stop being critical of McCoy but please don’t give these trolls a platform to spew their vitriol. We all see what the fans, players (opposing players and teammates), coaches, Bucs personnel think of McCoy through Hard Knocks and throughout the years. Trolls shouldn’t be given a platform on the best Bucs site around. Let them shout their ignorance on Twitter where they can be ignored by everyone.

Hey look at that, I found McDonald on the stat sheet with 1 tackle and 1 asst in 1 game. Amazing! How did he do that? The best 5 DT in the snow cone league is yet to register even a half of an assist in 3 preseason games. McDonald must be on PEDs or something.
