Buccaneers-Browns, Open Thread

August 26th, 2017

Fire up the in-game chatter in the comments section all throughout the pregame show and to the final whistle tonight! It’s not only the dress rehearsal for the regular season, it’s the first game for the Stick Carriers, as they “take back RayJay.”

Please keep it respectful, but definitely mix it up before Joe’s award-winning postgame coverage.

There’s so much to keep an eye on, even in the second half when future gym teachers, grad students, and mattress movers take the field against the bumbling Browns.

Go Bucs!

    No injuries please!!

    Bo Bucs!!!

BTW, I’ve bet a six-pack on this one, lol.

  2. Piratic Says:

  3. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Can we please talk about how the patriots traded a 2nd round pick for Kony ealy and then cut him b4 he ever played a game? We just got ripped nationally for the aguayo cut. And the pats are getting PRAISE!!!!!!!!!!???? WTF?????

  4. StAugBuc Says:

Pats traded a second, got a third

  5. JonBuc Says:

The Panthers moved up 8 spots I believe. How bad must Ealy suck suddenly?

  6. Mike Evans GOAT Says:

Still a waste of a pick. Same as aguayo. Technically aguayo was a 3rd and a free 4th from da bears

  7. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

What are the chances this game is cancelled due to rain? Because in Bradenton it is storming like crazy and I imagine if it isn’t in Tampa yet it will be by the time the game starts.

  8. RustyRhinos Says:

Glad we took the draft picks like we did, just like in this Photo, we have a Man who takes his craft seriously, next to a guy who let his talent go to waste in his head. Happy we have Mr. Evans. Not Johnny Football Right Joe?
Just watched last week’s game, then Hard knocks. Tough luck with the CB, Get healthy, Come back stronger. You Put your health on the line playing for my team. Always a Buc! Wow. Sad to see it happen to a guy working so hard. Chin Up Brother. Keep on Keeping On.

Beat the Browns. A team I watched Mr. Marino defeat Mr. Kosar in Miami. Good times. Free 45 yard 10th row seat tickets. Miami sidelines. I hate the fins and the browns but free tickets, and to watch two legends play. Awesome!
    Go Bucs!

  9. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I don’t really care if we win this game. Odds are, our starters will be pulled early (if they play at all).

  10. Dirks Great Granpappy Says:

WHere can we watch the game without paying for it?

  11. SB Says:

When I look up at that Title Picture for the article all I can think of is who made who in college.
    Go Bucs!

  12. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Dirks Great Granpappy

NBC is carrying it in the viewing area.

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Will be rebroadcast on NFL Network Monday at 1 p.m.

  14. Dirks Great Granpappy Says:

BB can you stream it somewhere online? I’m in California unfortunately. Was supposed to move back to Tampa but that got delayed by at least a year womp womp

  15. SB Says:

If Quizz gets off good tonight in the first half then I will definitely be taking him round 6 or so. Mike Evans is going first round in Every mock draft I simulate! Last yr I got him in round 2 after taking David Johnson in round 1. Surprising thing is DJax is slipping in every draft. Sleeeeeper!

  16. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

There are places, but I can’t provide the address here.

Email me at buccaneerbonzai2 @ yahoo. com (remove spaces)

and I will give you a link.

  17. SB Says:

Lol Bonzai……I use the same sites prolly. Good to c u man

  18. SB Says:

I have a comment above still in “moderation”. I can’t figure out which innocuous word I used that tripped the filter.

  19. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    SB, Good to see ya.

The spam filter is picky. And random. And sometimes it moderates it for a few minutes because of lag.

  20. darin Says:

Ive never seen a game cancelled due to rain. They didnt used to even delay the games for lightning years back. If theres lightning itl be delayed. Have to be crazy storming for hours to get cancelled as they domt wana give back peoples money. Cmon Bucs whoop them protesting brownies!!! Bucs 33-13 and lol joe to the future mattress movers!

  21. CautiousOptimism Says:

Wish they would play Baker the whole game. Dude needs an attitude check given his lack of on-field dominance.

  22. Waly Says:

Not watching any game where players sit for the anthem. Will not see a Browns game all year. I’ll follow play by play on Joebucs fan.

  23. Dreambig Says:

I am so FIRED UP! And its only preseason!

  24. Aristotle Says:

Good Waly, don’t watch the game! True fans watch it without condition, even if the player uses his American rights to protest. No one cares about your feeling Waly

  25. Born again Bucs fan Says:

No Mike Evans or desean Jackson tonight. Pamphile and Dotson out as well! ๐Ÿคž For no injuries

  26. Justin Says:

Bonzai I sent you an email could you help me out with those sites

  27. Capt.Tim Says:

    Screw the Browns!
This will be the only time I watch their sorry as*.
    I’m with you Waly

  28. Rod Munch Says:

3 runs up the middle on the first series… looks like last year’s offense.

    Only preseason, not panicking…

  29. Rod Munch Says:

    Make that 4…

  30. JameisDungy Says:

Licht not addressing the RB spot. smh

  31. Rod Munch Says:

Will have to see the replay but it sure looked like Brate slowed down before the ball got there… but since it’s garbage local TV production hard to tell for sure.

  32. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    That pick is on Brate.

His head was turned away, otherwise he could have caught that. Winston threw it to the right spot.

  33. Tval Says:

    Brate with zero separation

  34. Rod Munch Says:

Runningback position is probably the strongest group on the team, that would be nonsense to address.

  35. Rod Munch Says:

No replay from the garbage local TV crew – shocking…

  36. bucnut2 Says:

BB- nice try- stupid throw by JW into triple coverage

  37. Ptwalk Says:

    Brate wasn’t expecting the ball.

  38. Rod Munch Says:

How do you produce a football game and have a TO and say no, we don’t need a replay or have Barber explain what happened. I’m convinced that Chris Meyers bores production staffs to sleep.

  39. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    bucnut2 Says
“BB- nice try- stupid throw by JW into triple coverage”

Nice try. Look again, buddy. It was thrown within reach in front of Brates, who was moving to the right across the middle, but he turned his head at the worst moment to look back over his left shoulder…away from the QB.

Hence…it was his fault because he was not paying attention. Replay backs this up.

  40. Rod Munch Says:

Ryan Smith got burnt yet again.

  41. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Ptwalk Says
    “Brate wasnโ€™t expecting the ball.”

But he should have been. After all, Jameis connects with him on that same throw all the time.

  42. Richard Dickson Says:

Why do our defensive backs never seem to turn and look for the ball?

  43. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – Hard to tell for sure since there wasn’t a replay because Channel 8 is awful, but that is what appears happened, it looked like Brate slowed up before the ball got there. Perhaps, in Brate’s defense, if it was overthrown to the point he couldn’t get to it maybe that’s why.

  44. Capt.Tim Says:

Sure wish we had a DE. Or any pass rusher.
    Kizer has all day!
We wont win without a pass rush

  45. bucnut2 Says:

BB- no you look again. another stupid decision in the red zone. JW is not good inside the 20 his accuracy there is horrible.

  46. Oxycondoms Says:

BUcs defense been hyped up too much .

  47. Rod Munch Says:

I’m still shocked the dolts at Channel 8 didn’t bother to show a replay, but did show a replay of David tapping his helmet for no apparent reason. I can’t explain to you my hatred for Chris Meyers and poorly produced channel 8 football games.

  48. Dreambig Says:

Dont look now GMC haters but not much pressure so far with him on the bench

  49. JameisDungy Says:

Jameis felt the pressure by Garrett….rushed that throw..

Man I hope Smith is ready to roll at LT against good pass rushers..

  50. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m not saying Brate should be raked over the coals for it. No big deal. Just saying the pick was not on Jameis. He put the ball in the right spot.

  51. Rod Munch Says:

Oxycondoms – Like 40% of the starters aren’t in the game… calm down bandwagon rider

  52. bucnut2 Says:

bb- grat QB’s don’t throw the ball into triple coverage in the red zone. Great QB’s throw it to a place where only the offense can get the ball. Again, stupid throw.

  53. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Rod Munch

they actually did show a replay right afterward before the commercial. That’s where I saw Brate turn his head.

  54. BuccoDav Says:

Rewound and looked at the int. Hard to tell if Brate was led too much due to the poor angle but it did look like the ball was delivered a little too early.

  55. Rod Munch Says:

I’d be OK with this game having a 5-hour lightning delay if it meant Chris Meyers was turned into a pile of ash by a strike.

  56. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    bucnut2 Says
“bb- grat QBโ€™s donโ€™t throw the ball into triple coverage in the red zone.”

lol…funny, I saw Manning, Rogers and Wilson do it all the time…

  57. Capt.Tim Says:

Looked just like Farve on that play!

  58. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – Yeah I saw that, but it was like 4 seconds of a replay – that’s why I said it looked like Brate slowed down, but from the endzone you can’t tell depth, you need to do a proper replay from two angles – Barber could explain it if the dolts in the production truck took 30 seconds to show it properly.

  59. tmaxcon Says:

Nice try dumbarse the bucs have not had a pass rush in 13 years. It’s hardly because your often injured girl is taking yet another day off

  60. JameisDungy Says:

In a draft filled with explosive RBs….Licht added no one.

  61. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’ll look at it again tomorrow or Monday and eat crow if I’m wrong. Fair enough? lol

  62. Rod Munch Says:

Hey it’s tmaxipad is here to bash GMC in a game he’s not even in. Shocking. LOL!

  63. bucnut2 Says:

BB- you are full of sh!t. Those Qbs rarely did that if ever. JW is taking points off the board

  64. Oxycondoms Says:

@rod munch players are out cause they are hurt. That happens in the regular season also. Been a fan for decades by the way

  65. Rod Munch Says:

Does Dirk call a timeout in order to punt? That’s what Lovie would have done, lets see…

  66. mark2001 Says:

Game is on the radio feed on Bucs.com.

  67. Dreambig Says:

Dirks second round play calling sucks tonight

  68. Rod Munch Says:

BB – On first glance and that very quick 4-second replay they showed I saw what you saw, but again you need both angles to tell because the depth of the ball is what matters. I’m just being fair since I tend to not think much of Brate, but when I bash someone I want be correct about it.

  69. Dreambig Says:

    Second down

  70. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    bucnut2, why you so upset?

Does it bother you that much to be wrong? What kind of fan are you that you have never seen Peyton Manning force a throw into triple coverage and complete a pass??? Or Aaron Rogers? Or Russell Wilson?

You say I’m full of it??? Dude…grow up. Every week you get on here and talk down about our QB. What the heck is wrong with you that you do this every game?

  71. Rod Munch Says:

In the preseason you go for it… with that said a punt to the 1 yard line is very very good – we do have an excellent punter…

..which is why you go for it since you know you have an excellent punter.

But man Dirk, those who think he’s an offensive mind… maybe he is but he’s ultra conservative, just like last year.

  72. bucnut2 Says:

BB- I am not upset because I’m not wrong.

  73. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

bucnut2, not wrong…just apparently never witnessed a hail mary.

  74. bucnut2 Says:

BB- that pass was a hail mary???

  75. Rod Munch Says:

Does Ryan Smith give up a 99 yard TD? Lets hope not…

  76. bucnut2 Says:

    wow nice pass by Kizer

  77. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

bucnut2, now you are just being stupid. You said they’ve never thrown into triple coverage. Last I checked, one example of that is a Hail Mary. One. Example.

But of course, you want to act stupid, so continue.

  78. bucnut2 Says:

Browns look better than Bucs. Kizer>Winston

  79. Rod Munch Says:

Wow nice catch and throw there, the Bucs had good coverage.

  80. JameisDungy Says:

Looks like Brate was held on that int.

  81. Rod Munch Says:

    bucnut2 = kuck

  82. DoNUTS Says:

Our DEF line looks much different/less effective without #93. I hope the haters can see that now.

The INT in the red zone was garbage throw again…I was angry about that too and #3 will agree after he sees tape. Brate was wide open. He is not having his best game but there is time left so lets see what happens here to close the half.

  83. mark2001 Says:

Know we have a lot of starters out, but this hasn’t been very encouraging so far. How about a pick, guys?

  84. bucnut2 Says:

BB- sorry but you are a homer and an idiot. Only FSU fans and homers excuse that really stupid JW throw.

  85. Rod Munch Says:

Jameis – thanks for the post.

Brate slows down for some reason, be it him getting held or not. Will be interesting to see the coaching film on Gamepass.

  86. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Preseason play = regular season play for like the last 10 years

  87. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    DoNUTS Says
“Our DEF line looks much different/less effective without #93. I hope the haters can see that now.”

Notice they are not posting? They don’t want to eat crow.

  88. Broy34 Says:

Feel bad for some of you

  89. Broy34 Says:

Bonzai good point. It’s evident McCoy isn’t in since loser has had all day all game

  90. Rod Munch Says:

mark2001 – They’ve given up one play of any note, and that was of course Ryan Smith getting burned. Cleveland has one of the better offensive lines in the league and any QB that isn’t under constant pressure can look good – just look at Dak in Dallas – put him behind that Bucs d-line and the Bucs are looking for a new QB next year.

  91. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Bucnut is a moron only shows up when Jameis makes a mistake. The funny thing is Jameis was throwing to a spot and the TE was held. But anywho dude you need to get a life! Support your damn Bucs!

  92. Rod Munch Says:

    Conte and Ryan Smith…

Wow, that could be the worst combo in team history.

  93. mark2001 Says:

  94. BuccoDav Says:

Wow, I didn’t think Kizer Kizerwould be this good.

  95. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

lol…only bucnut2 can see visual evidence showing it was not Winston’s fault and still claim to be right.

For the record though, I wasn’t bashing Brate. I was merely pointing out what happened. Apparently he turned his head away because he was being held.

  96. Rod Munch Says:

Wow… Ryan Smith doesn’t keep his head up going for a tackle and misses what should have been an easy INT for a TD…

  97. Rod Munch Says:

Smith knows he’s getting cut, going for that IR spot and guaranteed salary.

  98. bucnut2 Says:

BB- I agree with you on D-line

  99. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Weather update from Bradenton…storm with thunder and lightning starting up again…usually hits here 30 minutes before it hits tampa.

  100. mark2001 Says:

Rod…can’t disagree…but that doesn’t take back one yard or one first down.

  101. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

bucnut2, well thank a lot. My wife had to give me CPR just now. Seeing you say you agree with me on something was more than my heart could take, lol.

  102. Rod Munch Says:

BuccoDav – Literally if it wasn’t for Ryan Smith and Chris Conte he’d look like a rookie QB who has already gone 3 and out a couple of times and had a INT returned for a TD. I’m not even exaggerating. Ryan Smith has been burned once for a long play, didn’t even bother to put up his hands on a for sure INT for a TD and Conte has been beat twice…

The kid did make a nice throw from the goalline, so I’ll give him that.

  103. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Good awareness by VHIII!

  104. BuccoDav Says:

Rod, he is pretty consistently putting the ball only where his receiver can make a play on it. Our dbs havent been great but they havent been that bad.

  105. Rod Munch Says:

Look at that, no Ryan Smith, no Chris Conte – and you get an INT.

The defense is fine so long as they’re not on the field.

  106. BuccoDav Says:

  107. Capt.Tim Says:

Joe thomas threw Noah Spence down like a paper wad

  108. MadMax Says:

    Theres a pick!!!!!!

  109. Rod Munch Says:

    Martin looks fantastic this preseason…

We might have to put Joe on suicide watch when he’s not cut.

  110. Rod Munch Says:

Remember this was all setup because Dirk, in the preseason, punted from the 37 yard line…

  111. mark2001 Says:

Wow….. When does the game start?

  112. bucnut2 Says:

    The offense sucks

  113. R.O. Says:

So much whining for a preseason game…

  114. SB Says:

I have to say that I am not buying the Hype anymore. I have seen effort that doesn’t translate. on BOTH sides of the ball

  115. mark2001 Says:

So RO…you like what you are seeing against CLEVELAND?

  116. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Keep in mind we are missing 2 starting lineman, 1 back up lineman, and Mike Evans/ Djax are not playing.

This is ugly af yes, but its not representative our our actual offense.

  117. Rod Munch Says:

Hey guys how many Cadillacs have you owned? I’ve had 3, what say you?

I’m guessing Buttnut is more of a Kia kind of guy.

  118. TheBucsAnthem Says:

You guys know Koetter is not happy

    His offense looks average

  119. mark2001 Says:

    RO…are we playing the Patriots?

  120. SB Says:

Hey Blake……..has Nos still not bought you your TShirt?

  121. mark2001 Says:

Maybe makes the cut decisions easier?

  122. Rod Munch Says:

LOL! SB isn’t buying the hype… I mean the 1st team offense carved up the Bengals and Jacksonville but on a wet field without Martin starting and without Evans and our RT and LG you’re not buying the hype on the offense…

    OK buddy…

  123. Dreambig Says:

Current bucs players are boys amungnst men

  124. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    Ha ha ha

We should switch jerseys with browns

  125. mark2001 Says:

    When does the game start?

  126. Rod Munch Says:

Hey Conte with another missed tackle and Ryan Smith getting flipped all around giving up another 10 yards before making a tackle. What a combo!

  127. Dreambig Says:

    Ouch. Getting whooped!

  128. TheBucsAnthem Says:

GM starts at 4th qtr 0:00

  129. THETRUTH Says:

Where all the Trade McCoy idiots. See the difference!!!

  130. Rod Munch Says:

Hey wow, look at that, Ryan Smith burned again…

    My God is he awful.

  131. SB Says:

Hey Rod…..you can munch all the sticks you want to. I am entitled to my opinion after 41 years of watching the Bucs

  132. mark2001 Says:

That’s what happens when you give a good team a short field.

  133. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

What team is being outplayed, out coached, out hustled.

  134. Blake_bucsfan Says:

He owes me $250, not a shirt. And no he has not paid me, nor do I believe he ever will.

  135. Destinjohnny Says:

    Our lines are getting dominated

  136. mark2001 Says:

So much for home field advantage.

  137. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Koetter is going to rip this team’s asses at practice this week for making this rookie looking like cam newton

  138. Rod Munch Says:

Chris Meyers confused Chris Conte, a white safety, with Glanton, a black linebacker.

    He’s worse than Chris Meyers.

  139. SB Says:

REALLY????? I never heard of that Blake. I will Certainly ask him about that

  140. Rod Munch Says:

So guys this defense, outside of Chris Conte and Ryan Smith, has been pretty decent and gotten 2 turnovers.

Yet you dolts think they’re getting destroying.

  141. darin Says:

The brownies have themselves a QB finally. Kizer is playing good. Bucs seem to wana get outa preseason. Its not ryan smiths night. N bonzai its preseason dont start ur freakin out over losing. Go Bucs

  142. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

My last comment is in moderation because of what I said to Bucnut. Lmao. Go Bucs!! See ya in Miami!

  143. SeffnerBuc Says:

I know a lot of people are out, but man, this Bucs team doesn’t look good…at all. This QB, who I’ve barely heard of, is making the defense look miserable. I’m sure I’m just rehashing what everyone else has said so far.

  144. Canadabucsfan Says:

These uniforms are just so damn ugly. I am scared they won’t change them anytime soon… because they just didn’t, I know they can in a year or two but I wonder if they are thinking about it yet… I love my team but they gotta be some of the ugliest things out there…

  145. BuccoDav Says:

Chris Meyers doesn’t see color when it comes to people.

  146. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

At this point, we’re seeing backups. I’m actually preferring seeing the backups, because I want them to have the opportunities.

I think it’s really important to keep the best ones this year.

  147. mark2001 Says:

As I said, I know we are sitting many starters…but that isn’t the issue. It is that you would hope that even with those substitutes, that we would hold up a little stouter. And I am no less concerned about our ability to pressure the QB.

  148. Rod Munch Says:

What happened there? Humphries didn’t even try… he must not have seen the ball I guess.

  149. SeffnerBuc Says:

    Rod Much-

The defense is looking pretty good? Really? Not seeing it. Yes, there are a couple of turnovers, but the biggest takeaway to me is that they are marching down the field fairly easily.

  150. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Even Rhonde Barber is sick of the offense not performing now……lol….listen to his comments!!!!

  151. Rod Munch Says:

BuccoDav – Haha… yeah Meyers doesn’t see much of anything I don’t believe.

  152. SeffnerBuc Says:

  153. bucnut2 Says:

    Our offense sucks

  154. mark2001 Says:

No problem with playing backups….they need to develop experience and confidence. What they don’t need is a good A kicking.

  155. Blake_bucsfan Says:

Hot damn our offense is garbage without Mike.

  156. bucnut2 Says:

All of you saying we are a playoff team, think again.

  157. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    It’s preseason

…..Noone needs to hit the panic button….YET

  158. JameisDungy Says:

Love Humphries, but we shouldn’t be running plays like that for him. A faster/taller player gets that post pass.

Running game is a mess. Our RBs look way slower compared to other teams.

  159. Rod Munch Says:

SeffnerBuc – The Bucs defense has given up 3 points and got 2 TO’s in the first half and they’re awful. LOL! OK.

Also I said outside of Smith and Conte they look DECENT… DECENT doesn’t mean good. The Browns have a very good offensive line and they’re giving their QB a bunch of time to throw the ball – ANY QB in the NFL can play decent if given time.

  160. bucnut2 Says:

Well lets just say we suck in preseason

  161. Rod Munch Says:

Beckwith has missed 2 tackles already, he really stood out in that Cinny game for missing a couple of tackles in that game as well. He’s still coming back from the ACL but he has to get better at wrapping up.

  162. mark2001 Says:

But Rod…I thought we had a good pass rush. Is Spence sitting out?

  163. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Joe I bought my tickets through fanretreat for the Miami game and have supported the Bucs since the 90’s, season ticket holder for several years and this is how I get treated with this moderation stuff? Come on man!!

  164. Rod Munch Says:

Reedy I think gets the 5th WR spot so long as he doesn’t mess up anything big tonight.

  165. SB Says:

Our Defense has given us TWO turnovers and our Offense has Zero points.

  166. Rod Munch Says:

mark2001 – You’re getting your people messed up, I never said the Bucs have a good pass rush, like never ever have I said that since probably 2003.

  167. Rod Munch Says:

Humphries is out – maybe that’s why he gave up on that clean pass he should have caught.

  168. Rod Munch Says:

Rogers has looked good tonight which is a relief – he didn’t in game 1 or 2 but he didn’t play much either.

Oh and Dirk called a TO, I hope he doesn’t punt again, it’s 1st down I think.

  169. Eric Says:

This officiating crew sucks. Browns o line just bear hugging d line mean and no calls.

  170. mark2001 Says:

I’m saying that even though Cleveland has a good O line, if we have our best pass rushers playing, we should still be able to put some pressure on them. And if we can’t, how are we going to make the playoffs, because with no pressure, no D can hold up?

  171. Rod Munch Says:

Rodgers with another good little run there. He’s not Doug Martin but should do OK games 1-3.

  172. JameisDungy Says:

Horrible management by coaches and Licht to have Jameis out here this long with a lot of starters missing. Sit him.

  173. BuccoDav Says:

Wow. O-line looks alot like last year.

  174. Rod Munch Says:

mark2001 – Cleveland has like a top 3 offensive line in football – and McCoy is out, he’s our top pass rusher. I have no idea why you think that combo means if the Bucs don’t get a good pass rush in a preseason game they’re awful…

I’ve said all this offseason the Bucs will win on offense, the team has zero corner or safety depth and they’re going to have to outscore people.

What I said tonight is the Bucs are playing OK on defense minus Conte and Ryan Smith who are truly awful.

  175. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I think you guys are putting waaaay too much stock in a preseason game. We are rotating in camp meat with the 2nd stringers at this point.

If you are willing to let a preseason game get you into panic mode, then you need to find a way to strengthen your resolve for the season.

  176. Jughead Says:

Same old Jameis, all bark and no bite. His footwork is horrendous!

  177. Buc fan since 76 Says:

Scrub football isn’t much fun to watch

  178. Rod Munch Says:

Ronde said it and he’s right, the Bucs didn’t game plan for Cleveland and they’re blitzing on every play, they’re just not ready for it – plus you generally don’t show much of your playbook in the preseason, plus you’re missing 2 OL and Evans…

I’m not even remotely concerned about any of this, just like I didn’t buy when the Bucs destroyed the Pats in the preseason a few years ago.

  179. Rod Munch Says:

Hey Ryan Smith almost makes a play… but like with everything he does he comes up short.

  180. Rod Munch Says:

I wonder if Dirk will punt again before the half is over… you can’t be too safe in the preseason…

  181. BuccoDav Says:

Actuall, Rod, he did make a play. That was a pass defensed. He just didnt make the play we hoped.

  182. Rod Munch Says:

    Nice play by Brate there…

  183. Rod Munch Says:

BuccoDav – Fair enough, I meant “make a play” as in get a TO. But he did make a play in defending the ball.

  184. DBS Says:

What team playing any preseason football game is game planning???
Look at the constant playoff teams that are just starting their BACKUPS against good teams. They put points on the board in preseason. This is a joke!

  185. Rod Munch Says:

So for being the worst game you’ve guys ever seen the Bucs have it tied 3-3…

    I think we’ll be OK.

  186. JameisDungy Says:

Why isn’t Howard in there for the red zone? He’s the bigger and more physical TE.

  187. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Jameis looks lost on alot of plays……..he’s shook from crappy oline play

  188. Mr. E Nigma Says:

Has the Bucs’ defense had a single QB pressure this entire preseason? This D will fail if they rely on mistakes from the other team. I don’t see any improvement in that category and the run D looks weak also.

  189. Semen holes suck! Says:

3rd year Qb looking very average right now. Jameis is nothing without Evans! Just like Johnny Football! People need yo recognize who the best player on our offense really is= ME13 without question. Kizer looks like the 3rd yr Qb not Winston.

  190. Rod Munch Says:

The crackers on offense really let Winston down… Brate either got held or gave up on the INT, then Humphries faked an injury to make up for giving up on a wide open long play in the middle of the field…

On defense, again, the defense played OK except for the awful play of Ryan Smith and Chris Conte. Smith did come back and have a nice pass breakup, but outside of that he was absolutely terrible getting burned on at least 2 big plays while Conte got burned on a big play and missed what, at least 2 tackles?

Beckwith also missed 2 tackles (one was at the line on the play where Conte then also missed a tackle) but he gets a bit of a pass since he’s still a rookie and coming back from the ACL.

Chris Meyers like always gets an A- for being a goober and has no place on TV, or even living in America, he should be in a more boring country like Canada.

  191. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Yeah dline is not getting pressure

  192. Blake_bucsfan Says:

For those of you railing Jameis, y’all got to be the dumbest fans around. We are missing half of our starting offense tonight.

Come talk to me september 10th when we are playing for real. F outta here with this ignorance.

  193. DigBog Says:

This is an exhibition game. The bucs roster is set. The browns roster is not. Therefore you have browns players with different motives. The bucs depth battles will be in the 2nd half. Starters trying to get through half healthy

  194. Walter Says:

    @Semen holes suck!

6-18 93 yards and an INT, QB rating of 28.2.

Yeah, REALLY great performance, looked like a true Vet. lol

  195. Canadabucsfan Says:

Hey Rod. I’m Canadian and I’ll tell you. It may be boring but at least my citizens arnt silly enough to vote for your President… #canadarocks

  196. Canadabucsfan Says:

Normally I agree with some thins you say, but go ask anybody you know who knows Canada or Canadians… least boring people around.

  197. Jeffbuc Says:

Kizer is 6-18 for 70 yards against pretty much are 2nd string yeah he looks better than jameis. Who is playing with a rookie receiver and nothing much else. He is running for his life. People need to calm down I knew with all the people out people would over react to this performance. This game in no shape or form resembles what we will see week 1. Everyone relax and enjoy some meaningless scrimmage. We are without half of our starting offense and you guys are ready to jump off the ship.

  198. Rod Munch Says:

USF is also on on CBS Sports, was down 0-16 before scoring 21 points straight. They’re ranked in the top 20, they need to blow out San Jose St.

  199. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Ok…..the rookie has out performed the 3 yr vet with all of his Freddy Martinos type receivers…..

So it doesn’t the bucs don’t have Djax or ME

  200. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    lol, Canadabucsfan.

  201. R.O. Says:

Repeat… So much whining for a Preseason game.

  202. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Did NBC just go out for everyone else?

  203. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Sorry, NBC sound I mean.

  204. Rod Munch Says:

Canadabucsfan – I live in north Pasco county, approximately 95% of the people here are Canadians, and the ones that had the smarts to leave all voted for Trump since they left Canada so they weren’t paying 50% of their income in taxes and waiting 19 months to see a doctor.

Anywho they’re great people, just kind of dull. It actually wasn’t an insult, I’d rather live around Canadians than the people that lived around me in Tampa and St Pete…

  205. Defense Rules Says:

OLine didn’t look all that sharp in the 1st half, but not to be outdone neither did the DLine. Zero pressure without McCoy, and Spence has been a non-factor. OLine’s pass protection broke down multiple times, but looks to me like they just weren’t prepared for Browns’ blitzes. Oh well, maybe they’ll both rebound in the 2nd half.

  206. Rod Munch Says:

Canadabucsfan – Joe putting my response in moderation… must be a Canadian…

Anywho I like Canadians and I live in Pasco where most people are Canadian. Good people, just kind of dull.

  207. Canadabucsfan Says:

    Ya it went out.

  208. Jeffbuc Says:

I do think are d line is going to cost us some games though. We are counting on spence to be a beast. Joe Thomas is making it look he is a little boy. He literally held in the air with one arm and spence was running in air. Hope someone steps up and gets some pressure. It’s the same thing over and over we are counting on people who have never produced sacks to magically blow up every year. We need to go sign so proven talent or scan the waiver wire for anybody who gets released

  209. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Wow…NBC Broadcast without cable is really bad. Constant in and out during this storm. Sound went out for over 2 minutes.

  210. Canadabucsfan Says:

Sadly that’s because our school system is too good it makes us boring lol I was messing around . I love Americans. I fly to Tampa three games a year and have fam down there. Great times. Go bucs . Pasco I believe it. Canadians are all over the place but their own area lol

  211. SeffnerBuc Says:

    Rod Munch-

Again, as I said, the turnovers aren’t the story here. It’s that this QB no one has heard of is having an easy time with our defense, and it’s more than just because of the secondary. The Browns’ OL is decent, but they’re not so good that the Bucs defensive line can’t get ANY pressure on this guy.

I’m not panicking or even saying they’re awful. I said they LOOK miserable…never said they’re awful, because they aren’t.

  212. Canadabucsfan Says:

Man people dropping like flies. Every NFL per season game this off season from all teams have had a decent amount of casualties. I wish we could just start tomorrow with real football . Scares me watching every play lol

  213. K2 Says:

    Johnson availability =. Maybe….

  214. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Rod Munch Says
“Good people, just kind of dull.”

    lol, Rod.

Should meet my pastors…both canadian and never a dull moment. He’s a real jokester.

  215. Canadabucsfan Says:

Our d line is not punishing the middle enough, the outside pressure is taking too long to get around before he throws a fast pass. I’m not worried just wondering why they arnt trying a few linebacker blitzes from the middle

  216. CautiousOptimism Says:

Starting oline taking a big bag of dcks in pick-your-orifice tonight. Cannot believe the awful play on both lousy lines but so many oline starters getting buttered up by the present media ad nauseum.
Agendas rule like outfits that peddle in fake news while crying fake news foul.

  217. Canadabucsfan Says:

Haha Bonzai. We don’t stop joking. It’s in our maple syrup filled blood..lol

  218. Canadabucsfan Says:

    There ya go SPAWN

  219. Canadabucsfan Says:

Exactly what I wanted but it was the slot CB not a LB. good spot to rush.

  220. Rod Munch Says:

Hey Ryan Smith didn’t make a bad play on that series and in fact made one tackle – maybe he just needs to be burned like 17 times before he wakes up.

  221. SB Says:

With no pass rush tonight we are hanging VH3 out to dry and he is still doing good. Good things there

  222. Canadabucsfan Says:

Ya I agree. Vernon has been constantly hip to hip all night and against a fast man in Coleman. Very happy with him tonight. Imagine when grimes is back. Good luck Cutler. #bringiton

  223. CautiousOptimism Says:

SB- good point cause dline is dreadful

  224. Rod Munch Says:

Reedy I think has locked up that 5th WR spot.

  225. Rod Munch Says:

Dirk with these 1st down runs up the gut… it’s so obvious when he’s going to run it, he has to mix it up every once in awhile.

  226. Larrywoods3 Says:

People keep saying a qb that we’ve never heard of, what rock have you been under lol. Kizer was a good qb at Notre Dame for one. Second, you can’t possibly think this game is indicative of how we will perform in the season when the games count. Calm the hell down!!

  227. CautiousOptimism Says:

Oline gives up booty all day long. For shame…

  228. Canadabucsfan Says:

I agree Rod. He’s looking good. I like his return abilities too.

  229. Rod Munch Says:

    That’s a catch!

  230. Canadabucsfan Says:

  231. Rod Munch Says:

Why did “that’s a catch” go into moderation?

Joe needs to work on his moderation systme.

  232. Sam Says:

Sweezy put a guy on his butt right after his holding call. Just shot out his arms and laid the guy out.

  233. Canadabucsfan Says:

Oh man! Winston with the pass . Beautifully done both sides.

  234. Canadabucsfan Says:

That better be friggon called a TD. Give me a break refs

  235. Rod Munch Says:

  236. Rod Munch Says:

Go f yourself you pieces of trash in the NFL

  237. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Well, I think that was a bad call, but I’m past it.

On the bright side…Folk has been looking better now that the job is secured.

  238. Sam Says:

That was a TD but seeing the FG go through the uprights helps me sleep better.

  239. Dano74 Says:

    Wow Speechless

  240. Canadabucsfan Says:

This is pre season… that was a td… and why is their reasoning on that? Cuz the idiot made the mistake originally calling it a no catch? Like clearly it was in bounds. Zero movement on the ball. That is ridiculous. I’m embarrassed for the league for that call lol.

  241. Semen holes suck! Says:

    O touchdowns in 3 games……mic drop
Too many weapons too few points. Explain that FSU homers!

  242. Rod Munch Says:

So for those saying Winston had a bad game… he LITERALLY had a TD stolen from him, he had Brate for some reason slow down on the INT that would have been at the goalline or a TD AND he had Hump not even try for a wide open well placed passed that would have been big yards.

If it was regular season I’d be rioting based on that bogus TD call.

  243. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Rod Munch Says
“…needs to work on his moderation system.”

It’s a WordPress thing. Great application, but you take the bad with the good. If the thing was any less effective, the automated system would let spam through.

  244. Dano74 Says:

That was a beautiful TD, I don’t care what these blind refs say!

  245. Buccaneer scotty Says:

Nfl sucks how do they miss that!

  246. Rod Munch Says:

Canadabucsfan – They said the call was confirmed – not stands – that means those dopes at the NFL actually confirmed the bad call, didn’t just let it stand. Chris Meyers is worthless so of course he blew the explanation of the ref said.

  247. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Semen holes suck!

Oh look! bucnut2 is using a new name!

  248. Rod Munch Says:

    OMG George Johnson is ALIVE

  249. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – I think it’s literally the same people just posting under different names, there can’t be that many tarded people posting here.

  250. CautiousOptimism Says:

The NFL has no clue what a catch in this league is anymore.

  251. Rod Munch Says:

Reedy has had 2 good returns called back…

  252. Canadabucsfan Says:

We have to stop ruining good plays with flags. For real…

  253. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Semen holes, you must have forgotten Dougs TD run last game. Nice try though. Why are non-Bucs fans posting?

  254. Canadabucsfan Says:

Oh ya even worse eh rod lol. Stupid NFL zebras.

  255. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Semen holes suck!

8,000+ yards and 57 TDs in two years.

    Eat it.

(not that I’m an FSU fan)

  256. Canadabucsfan Says:

I have zero worry about our offense. We have the talent, just have to use the full playbook.

  257. Rod Munch Says:

CautiousOptimism – It all started with the NFL trying to cover for their horrific BS Bert Emanuel non-catch catch call that costed the Bucs their rightful SB title in the 99 season. Since then it’s been all downhill. They cost the Bucs their SB appearance (and ring) and instead of saying they messed up huge and the Rams never deserved to win that SB title, they have constantly been changing the rules to justify their awful blown call.

  258. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

In contrast, Peyton Manning’s last 2 years:

    6,976 yards, 48 TDs.

  259. SB Says:

    Hey Semen Holes
I am the Longest tenured Gat-r and Buc here I think. If you just want to bust Jameis cause he WAS a Seminole then you have more problems in life than your Football affiliation. Jameis has changed the Image of this team. Though I hated him in College and we Intercepted him 4 times in one game I Love what he has done for us! Get on board or be quiet.

  260. unbelievable Says:

Have to seen any of the game, just started reading the comments.

LOfukinL at bucnut trying to call out Bonzai

  261. Mark Says:

Terrible tackling. Terrible secondary. Terrible D line.

  262. Canadabucsfan Says:

Would be nice to see a few more slot throws or tight end seams. Running up the gut all to obvious. And I typed that as cross caught it. Prayer answered lol

  263. Canadabucsfan Says:

    Dye is surprising me today.

  264. Rod Munch Says:

Canadabucsfan – I wouldn’t mind if the runs up the gut were mixed with playaction passes, but Dirk doesn’t do that, he just calls runs up the gut on nearly every 1st down and then if Dirk doesn’t run up the gut he goes to an obvious throwing formation so all the running up the gut doesn’t do anything to setup anything. It makes no sense.

  265. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

It is so hard to watch this game. Storm has knocked out my power, the pic keeps flickering and the sound went out for a while…

  266. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

To those who sent me additional emails for a stream ,sorry, didn’t check my email after the guy I invited to do so sent me a message.

  267. Canadabucsfan Says:

I know. Like for a guy who was able to have the best RBduo in 2015, why not go back to what used to work? I also haven’t been seeing as many screen

  268. Rod Munch Says:

Regardless of what the Winston haters say he had a good game – if Brate doesn’t let up/get held he doesn’t have an INT, plus he had a big play to Hump that Hump just didn’t try for, which is still baffling, and he had that clear Dye TD. Count those and he’s around 260 yards with a TD and no INTs in a half and one series.

  269. Canadabucsfan Says:

I’m calling it. Elliott with a pick this series.

  270. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

We so need an indoor stadium, lol.

  271. Canadabucsfan Says:

Bonzai. We should have the option. Need a retractable roof. Hate to say it but like atlantas set up lol.

  272. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Who’s going to Miami with me? Go Bucs!!!

  273. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

We could put in area heated turf and turn up the heat on opposing defenses. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  274. Canadabucsfan Says:

    Bahahahah. I like it.

  275. Rod Munch Says:

No way – you play football outside – what they need to do is not stop the game because of lightning, I love watching games in thunderstorms and snow and everything else, that’s why football is so much better than most sports, you play in the elements.

Indoor stadiums kill the vibe, like those awful Falcons games in their garbage Georgia Dome, of the Rams dome was terrible, the Vikings dome was terrible, etc. Outdoors is awesome.

  276. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Ohhhhh…Barber almost got cut! lol

  277. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Rod Munch

    Retractable roof could work.

    Besides…the stick carriers…lightning rods….

  278. Canadabucsfan Says:

I’m sad ryan griffin is hurt… that felt weird to say.

  279. SB Says:

I feel Very safe saying that if Fitz is our backup and Winston goes down that I will focus more on Fantasy and Betting.

  280. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Plus, in my old age…air conditioning sounds much better than thunderstorms. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  281. SB Says:

    LOL Canada.
    I feel you.

  282. Rod Munch Says:

I loved going to games at the old stadium when it would rain like this all the poofters would leave and I’d go down to like the first row, or however close I’d get could get. I was poor then so it was a big deal. Now I wouldn’t do that, I’d just go hang out in the club lounge since I only get club seats.

  283. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Yeah…things would get ugly. On the bright side…we would probably draft high and improve our pass rush. Or right tackle.

  284. Canadabucsfan Says:

SB. The feeling is just so confusing? Lol

  285. SB Says:

@Bonzai…….. DE, or DE, or DE, or maybe a DE

  286. Semen holes suck! Says:

Has absolutely nothing to do with affiliations. I made the screen name because the Winston is never wrong mentality FSU fans have for this guy. In there eyes the man has no faults and its always everyone elses fault. If a pass sails over Evans head its not Winston’s fault but boy let Evans reach for a ball thats 3 ft iver his head and Evans gets a fingernail on it the blame is on Evans. Stats are nice to have but ask Marino if that makes him a Champion. The only numbers that matter are wins and he has yet to have more than 9 wins. At this point he has yet to surpass the great Josh Freeman who might have been a nut job but he did get us 10 wins with no talent om the roster. A great quarterback doesn’t need to have the best recievers to be successful. I dont think anyone believes Juilian Edelman is in the same class as Evans nor is Amendola yet they win the Superbowl. Other than the short stint with Randy Moss he has had nothing yet still wins 5 Superbowls.

One thing is certain though, he has more weapons than any other QB in the league so there are no more excuses. Guess we just have to wait and see if he is the real deal or just a great talker with good leadership qualities.

  287. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – I couldn’t disagree more, just play through it all, thunderstorms, lightning, tropical storms and hurricanes – the NFL should be like the postal service in my mind. I hate when they have a lightning bolt like 10 miles away and stop the game. There has never been a single time lightning has hit a stadium and killed people – until it happens you need to play ball. Also any true stick carrier shouldn’t fear lightning, if God is on their side he’ll protect them.

  288. Mark Says:

You probably sat next to me Rod

  289. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

lol, I called it. Semen holes suck! is Bucnut2

  290. Rod Munch Says:

Man Reddy with another good return.

That’s good since I’m guessing Ryan Smith won’t be making the team and we need a return guy.

  291. Canadabucsfan Says:

Speedy reedy looks gooood. Him and Dye may be down to the wire after today. Dye really showed up.

  292. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod, what if the first time it happens, Winston gets struck?

  293. Rod Munch Says:

Yeah Mark, you’re awesome, like me.

  294. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – Winston wouldn’t get hit – he’s only like 6′ 3″ – whoever the tallest guy is will take the hit for him.

  295. DoNUTS Says:

George Johnson looking like he wants to start at DE tonight with his play.

  296. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Semen is Bucnut explains it all. Lmao

  297. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod I think you are right about Ryan Smith.

  298. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

On the other hand…God IS a Bucs fan….so we’re probably safe. Homefield advantage ๐Ÿ˜‰

  299. Rod Munch Says:

Dirk with a run up the middle on 1st down…

  300. Dano74 Says:

I know the Bucs like Peyton Barber , but I don’t see it.

  301. Canadabucsfan Says:

As much as I think he should not make the team. Ryan Smith is the only real “depth?” We have at outside besides a unproven robinson and McClain. I would hope we go after a outisde corner before week 1 who’s proven. I can’t breathe imagining our outside corners going down. No way we will survive.

  302. Rod Munch Says:

Serious question – Has anyone ever done a tour of the stadium? Do they show you locker rooms and everything?

  303. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Unless the Bucs keep 5 RBs (unlikely) I think Barber gets cut.

Who else could they cut? Martin is playing too well. Rodgers is needed. Sims is really liked by the staff. And Jeremy won’t be cut as a rookie…he’d be claimed off waivers.

  304. Dano74 Says:

    Folk game MVP

  305. CautiousOptimism Says:

MunchRod- the Edell Shepherd catch in the playoffs in 05 season works into your correct narrative going back to the wet pantyhoses of confidence surrounding one of the three great pillars of the sport of football, the catch. The pass and the tackle outstanding.

  306. Rod Munch Says:

Canadabucsfan – Yeah I think unfortunately Smith will make the roster because there is zero depth, but man he’s be terrible in the preseason for the most part. He has looked good at times so we can just hope he continues that. I think he’d safely make it to the practice squad however.

  307. Canadabucsfan Says:

I did the tour Rod. Yup they do show that. Just not inside GM room or anything too invasive. But I sat in evans locker last time

  308. Rod Munch Says:

Dano – I agree on Barber, he seems like a very basic north/south runner, I don’t get the love for him, you can find those guys just about anywhere.

  309. CautiousOptimism Says:

Does Aguayo make any of these kicks tonight. He may be a c bit of a franchise curse

  310. Dano74 Says:

    I’d keep Mcnichols over Barber.

  311. BuccoDav Says:

Rod, do you really want DK to show the playbook in a meaningless game? I’m sure he has things he wants to see that supersede your desire for creativity.

  312. SB Says:

SO………..Let’s have some perspective. The Worst part of our team (kicking) has all our Points?

  313. Rod Munch Says:

Canadabucsfan – Thanks for the info, I need to just head down one day and check it, I’ll do it sometime this season since they did all the renovations, plus I want to see the club seat improvements since I only get club seats anymore and they’re getting more and more expensive.

  314. Canadabucsfan Says:

Now nothing against our line because it will get the job done, but could you imagine how good our offense would be if we had say Dallas line? Winston sithtime is literally terrifying for opposition.

  315. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I predicted Barber would not be on the team past week 3 just after the draft. If the Bucs had not drafted a RB, I think he would make the team, or if Martin had played badly.

  316. Rod Munch Says:

BuccoDav – I know you keep the playbook basic, it’s more of a comment on last seasons playcalling where Dirk was ultra conservative. The first 2 weeks of the preseason he actually was mixing it up quite a bit, this week he’s been back to the predictable playcalling.

  317. Canadabucsfan Says:

With time* we gotta draft a right tackle or swap smith and draft an early new tackle. I don’t hate smith I jut think he has a few too many mistakes on double pressure situations.

  318. Rod Munch Says:

Man Joe Dirt still hasn’t gotten into the game? I guess he’s going to get featured on Hard Knocks getting cut. He’ll be on the practice squad so long as no one picks him up. That stinks. I wish he had accepted his Joe Dirt nickname, I think he Bucs merch money in jersey sales would have made him a shoe in.

  319. Canadabucsfan Says:

He looked visibly upset when his mom talked about that nickname . Lol he was rattled. Wtf is going on here. Defense needs a stop.

  320. Canadabucsfan Says:

Oh man he needed that interception. Come onnnn

  321. Dano74 Says:

I’m disappointed in Spence. McClain gift wrapped that sack for him. I hope he plays better when the season starts. The DLine gets no pressure besides Mccoy

  322. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Anyone know who was playing center when the snaps were high tonight?

  323. Canadabucsfan Says:

Marpet, for two of them, at least. I was lying close attention to that. Maybe the wet ball?

  324. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I didn’t even look at who was playing center. I assumed Ali was held out tonight. Figured it would be Hawley or Josh Allen.

  325. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Why is Russell in??? No chance he makes the team. I want Jeremy to get carries so we know if he can be good or not. ๐Ÿ™

  326. Rod Munch Says:

I’m surprised that Ronde doesn’t think McNichols is in danger of getting cut, I’m not sure how he makes the team if they really are as high on Barber as is claimed. I’m not sure why you’d keep Barber, he’d easily make the practice squad, but McNic would probably get picked up – maybe that’s what Ronde is hearing.

  327. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Rod, McNichols has to make the team. Someone would claim him if put on waivers. Barber is toast…unless the Bucs ride with 5.

  328. Rod Munch Says:

I’m shocked there wasn’t more talk in social media about Sefo rescuing goats – maybe that’s a normal thing with Generation Glee.

  329. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I wish they hadn’t cut Hicks. He was an excellent blocker.

  330. SB Says:

Hansboro just got the Longest run by a Buc this preseason

  331. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – Agreed, but with all the Barber love and the lack of any production by McNic, it’s something to keep in mind.

  332. Rod Munch Says:

“Iโ€™m shocked there wasnโ€™t more talk in social media about Sefo rescuing goats”

    Somehow that got moderated…

  333. Rod Munch Says:

For those complaining this was a sloppy game I just want to remind you that it has rained, heavy at time, for half of the game… half of a preseason game.

    It should be sloppy.

  334. Rod Munch Says:

I think we see why Joe Dirt isn’t getting more playing time early – last week at Jacksonville he looked late going down the middle on a pass completed and they just did it again on him. Too bad, I think most people were pulling for him but I think he just doesn’t have the physical ability.

  335. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Man, Joe Dirt is really good. I can see him getting extremely good over a one year period.

  336. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Justin Evans making the team? I’m not so certain.

  337. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Bad call.

  338. Rod Munch Says:

Bonzai – Dirt got burned on that deep pass just like last week. I think he just doesn’t have the speed to play that MLB spot in this defense where you need a lot of speed.

  339. Canadabucsfan Says:

Omg. Why do we always suck late in the fourth.

  340. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I need to update my roster predictions now that we have a clearer picture of things.

  341. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    @Rod Munch

I’m not saying Joe Dirt is good enough to start…not yet. But you can see a lot of potential there. I think he is worth holding onto for a year.

    Maybe Practice Squad.

All players get burned from time to time, especially rookies. He’s usually downfield making the tackle if needed.

  342. mark2001 Says:

If we had just gotten five field goals….it would be a different story.

  343. JonBuc Says:

Evans will make the team…carrying the 2nd round curse with him. ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿป

  344. Rod Munch Says:

I remember when Sam Wyche actually put his starters back into a preseason game in this same situation because he wanted to set a winning attitude. I forget what year but he put in the starters cold at the end of a preseason game and they of course did nothing.

  345. Pa Privateer Says:

complete BS calls on Evans on both those plays. I know they were questionable but he wasn’t trying to hurt the receiver on either of those plays.

  346. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Browns need to win more than Tampa. We’ve been there. They need to sell tickets to their fans.

We Tampa fans pretty much know good things are happening…regardless of preseason wins or losses.

  347. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    I remember that!

  348. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

I’m out. Gotta finish painting a bedroom tonight.

  349. Rod Munch Says:

Think if Dirk hadn’t punted in the first from the 37, this could be a one FG game…

  350. Rod Munch Says:

USF game is on CBS Sports… support your top 20 local college team.

  351. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Fitz cost us the game lol

    Ah well. No biggy.

  352. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Thanks Rod! I can never find those games!

  353. mark2001 Says:

I am thankful for some of the draft decisions the Bucs made during the Sam era, though.

  354. cmurda Says:

That confirms it. Keep Riley, cut Fitzcrapick.

  355. mark2001 Says:

    Correction…six field goals.

  356. Canadabucsfan Says:

    Sign sideshow bob? Lol

  357. NFLNut Says:

Jameis has been magnificent this preseason and this game was no exception as in reality he went 18-27 for a .667 completion percentage, 223 yards and a TD with the pick Brate slowed on … that’s fantastic for 2.5 quarters of play without Evans or Jackson or two starting OL’s … Jameis is ready for the season and I actually do think he has a great shot at 5k yards and this team may need it as I don’t fully trust the running game. No to McGregor/Mayweather …

  358. mark2001 Says:

Brave fans in attendance…braving the weather and that performance.

  359. Dano74 Says:

    He’s Awful

  360. SB Says:

Good night guys. 15 days till the blanks are put away. GO BUCS!!!

  361. Rod Munch Says:

NFLNut – Actually it should be about 19 completions for about 243 yards on that pass to Hump where he gave up on the catch which was right in front of him – that was about 20 yards downfield.

  362. Matts17 Says:

Sloppy performance both sides of the ball. Wanted to see more crispness than put forth tonight to include the overall effort.

  363. Dano74 Says:

I’m really concerned with our pass rush. That’s what I got from this game.

  364. Rod Munch Says:

Judging Fitz when he’s playing with guys that won’t be the in league blocking for him and catching for him, it doesn’t mean much. He’s not a good option, but most backups are terrible, there’s a reason they wanted to give Glennon $8-million.

They seriously should contact Chicago and see if they’d trade Glennon back and take on at least half his salary.
