“Dad Told Me You Have A Sweating Problem”

August 5th, 2017

Mic’ed up.

What a tremendous video the Bucs put out.

Thursday, on Kwon Alexander’s birthday, the Bucs (“Hard Knocks?”) decided to mic up Alexander. It offered tremendous insight and access rarely seen on an NFL practice field.

Two clips of the video jumped out at Joe. At one point in practice, winning Bucs coach Dirk Koetter walks up to Kwon to congratulate him on how well the defense has been practicing. Koetter mentions how the defense is constantly “kicking the offense’s a$$. Aren’t you getting tired of it?” And Koetter pats Kwon on the shoulder pads.

Kwon responds, “No sir!”

Koetter replies, “Well, I’m getting tired of it!”

Later, Jason Licht’s son, Charlie Licht, is on the bench sitting with Kwon and Ali Marpet. Charlie Licht asks Marpet if he needs a towel for all his sweat and Marpet declines. Then Charlie Licht says, “Dad told me you have a sweating problem like him.”

Enjoy the video below.

Jameis Winston on teammate Kwon Alexander’s fire engine-red hair: “Look at the color of a hot Cheeto. Then at the top of his head. They’re the same color, man, the same color!”

“And they shall know his name”.

  7. Jeagan1999 Says:

I see a lot of similarities between the personalities of Kwon and Jameis. Something driving both those young guys to be great!

man a top 10 defense or better coupled with our offense, this could be a freaking nightmare for the rest of the NFL, me so happy

DK has the rare gift of being “one of the guys” without surrendering his authority and respect as the HC.

I always liked Rah and hopefully he can learn from watching DK how he should have handled his shot. I think one day he’ll get another. Next time he can be “one of the guys” at practice but NEVER off the field and at practice he can only do it if he’s certain his guys get his authority and everybody knows their place.

What I love about Koetter is that he obviously has the respect of this team and treating them like grown men has not hurt that one bit. He does not need to be a Nazi who points to their toes and controls the temps and food and….
