Ira, c’mon now! You are smarter than that! Against the Saints last year Doug Martin avg. a half yard more YAC (yards after contact) than Quizz’s effort against the same Saints team he faced two weeks later.

I sent you a link on Twitter a week or so ago an article detailing this and you refuse to comment. It is mind boggling to me, it is mind boggling to me, that if there is a problem with this analysis, that you won’t comment on it. What is up this that?

Here is the link again. All one Doug Martin hater could say to me was “Blah, Blah, Blah” I expect a better, more educated response from you than that.

Joe deleted the links: It’s a point worth considering, but who is judging YAC, and that’s very subjective, and there are many different types of contact. –Joe

And if the Offensive Line is not the problem, then why are they moving Marpet over to center?

And if the Offensive Line is not the problem, then why are they moving Marpet over to center?

Because Sweezy — who the Bucs have millions of dollars invested in — is healthy and Kevin Pamphile has proven himself as a quality starting lineman. Please refer to Licht’s quotes the weekend he drafted Marpet: He projected as an NFL center.

Lee, I feel like your argument for why we don’t need could just as easily be used to argue why we didn’t need receivers. We have Mike Evans. Do we need any more? We’ve seen plenty of instances where teams effectively use multiple tight ends. We’re all confident in Koetter, why wouldn’t we be excited about seeing what he can do with a second weapon there? Especially since most defenses are not geared toward guarding 2 tight ends. If we fit the same format that everyone else does then it’s easier to apply a blanket type of coverage to multiple teams. I’m not upset about forcing our opposition to get out of their comfort zones.

Just looking at the longshots, Canadian kid Auclair could end up right behind Howard and Brate…kid can play

  5. Gencoimports Says:

Joe himself has pointed out that Hawley was a liability – the starting center on this team who was constantly being blown up last year.

If Hawley was not the problem, then it would be more likely that Marpet would stay at guard and Pamphile, who I agree is a quality starting lineman, would move over to Right Tackle, which was also a problem area for the Bucs in 2016.

And Sweezy is a gamble, as Joe pointed out in this article (see I agree with you there Joe) where you were pushing for the Bucs to go after Eagles Center Jason Kielce.

You knew center was a problem, and the Bucs are gambling with both Marpet and Sweezy to fix the line woes.

  6. Mike Johnson Says:

Sweezy is and will continue to be the biggest Buc failure/joke for years to come. And the biggest steal of the draft was Mixon. IF..he can stay straight, the guys gonna tear the league up in yards. You see, Mixon has that, “IT” factor..those uncoachable innate skills. Biggest draft steal in years. And yes, Bucs could have used another lineman in the draft. But I do beleive we will be watching the waiver wires for linemen and a DE.

  7. Brian Ludwick Says:

Joes whether you like it or not. Martin WILL be back next year.

  8. @SarasotaJay Says:

    Irv, Irv, Irv!

  9. Dizim Says:

Lee stop doubling down on your dum, dum i mean really dum thought process about the rookie vs brate. You sound deperate.
