Is Today DeSean Jackson Day?

March 9th, 2017

Could it be?

We should have an idea by the stroke of midnight, if not before.

The Bucs could snag their best deep threat at wide receiver since the White Tiger, Joey Galloway, was running past cornerbacks for Chucky.

(Joe is convinced the beginning of the end for Chucky was when he publicly stated he couldn’t get both Galloway and Antonio Bryant on the field at the same time.)

The free agency dinner bell clangs at 4 p.m. today.

Of course, the Bucs have been airtight about Jackson. And Jackson, meanwhile, has been posting teasing hints on his Instagram and Twitter accounts without revealing much other than he is hitting the lotto in the next day or two with a new team.

There are rumors all over the place that the Bucs are going hard after Jackson. Time will tell. As Moe Howard famously said about the bearing of gifts, “We shall see.”

Meanwhile, is it too late or too premature to order DeSean Jackson jerseys?

White tiger? Was that his nickname? Lol I honestly never heard that one before. But if we could get Galloway-like production out of Jackson without the much publicized side headaches that seem to have followed DJax around, this’ll be a good signing.

  2. Cannonblaster Says:

Benjamin Allbright who has been pretty money when it comes to FA Sources says barring something unexpected, the Bucs should land with Tampa.

  3. Billy Buc N Brazil Says:

I’d love to have DJax but, would prefer T Pryor. Something tells me we make a splash via trade this year.

  4. Tampabayucfan Says:

    Speaking for Pablo

“Pablo is excited that Hason will sign DHax providing Haboo with a great weapon. Pablo be sorry to see VHax go.”

  5. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Joe

Galloway at the end of the year said he was used as a decoy for other teams to prepare for, But he had no chance of playing because a broken bone in his foot!!!! He even stated this on his own radio show on 620 at the end of the year!!!!!

Maybe do a little back checking buddy before printing lies that were made up by a radio host!!!!!

  6. Negative Jeff Says:

They ain’t gonna get him. Too cheap.

  7. Rod Munch Says:

Gruden couldn’t get Keyshawn on the field because Chucky was such an egomaniac he couldn’t stand having the spotlight not on himself – thus the reason he got rid of Lynch, Sapp and Keyshawn. Brooks only stayed in town since he was a low key guy – and no disrespect to Brooks meant there, he was the best LB in football, but if he had a mouth and the national spotlight was on him, Gruden would have chased him out of town as well. Plus Gruden needed to prove to everyone that he was the real genius behind that SB win, so Dungy’s team had to be dismantled and the offensive genius that was Gruden could go to work with all that freed up cap space so he could sign a bunch of mid-30 year old offensive linemen and a often injured 30+ year old RB, plus a 75-year old Tim Brown. Heck Gruden got McKay fired after McCain refused to sign Andre Rison after he ran a 14.53/40.

    @ Billy Buc

I’m feeling a trade vibe too.

  9. Rod Munch Says:

Dexter Jackson is over 30, oft injured, and his entire game is based on speed, and his best year in a long time was in a contract year.

Just saying… it’s not the end of the world if the Bucs don’t get him. If they knew he’d be healthy it’d be a no-brainer, but based on his history this is not a guy you can count on every week.

  10. Q Says:

Rod dont say anything else….just stay quiet…you dont know what your talking about

  11. Tampabayucfan Says:

    Dexter Jackson?……Surely not that guy!!!

  12. Scbucsfan Says:

Mike Glennon making almost 15 a year. What a wonderful world.

  13. Pete Says:

    Go get Pryor!

  14. todd Says:

    D JAX Buc day !!!!!!!!

  15. Lunchbox Says:

I checked out the Cleveland Plain dealer site and most of the fans there don’t seem to think Pryor is all that great. I’d still like to see him playing for the Bucs, but reading their comments reminded me of when Chicago fans were warning us of what we were in store for with Lovie.

  16. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

    Tbbf 😂😂😂!

Wrong Action Jackson there Mr. Munch! We’re trying to sign Jermaine Jackson ! Beat it just beat it!😂😂😂

  17. Warthog Says:

DeSean Jackson is hella old you guys.

  18. Bobby M. Says:

Looks like Glennon will ink a deal for 3 yrs…$43 million and if he produces can cash in another contract in a very short term. Hope he’s weighed this carefully vs being Jameis’s backup and making 50% less.

  19. The Buc Realist Says:

    @DavidBigBucsFan99

I thought you would have said “Janet Jackson” in honor of national women’s day yesterday????

Looks like rod munch forgot to take his meds again!!!!! I guess we know what radio show he listened too,, Head Coach has ego….lets Boo Logoria….. Let me talk up a special teams coach for jobs because we have the same agent….. Just keep those comments off joe, because I will shut it down if you ever turn them on!!!!

And Rod, It was the Bull, Brad Johnson and key that were fighting and Brad J 14 that started to freeze Key out of the offense and Head Coach Gruden that stepped in to stop it!!!!!!

  20. Defense Rules Says:

Wow! Great history lesson today on what the Bucs were doing 15 yrs ago. Wonder how that translates to our free agency quest in, oh ya, 2017. Great line in that Three Stooges video by the way Joe, “We shall see what we shall see”.

  21. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

    What Lunchbox saying.

  22. Tampa Tony Says:

Even if they get Jackson they need to get 1-2 additional receiving threats.

  23. William Says:

Y’all can say what you want, but go look at this guy’s stats on Wikipedia. Don’t focus too much on the yards each season, but the average YPC and the longest plays each season. The dude has had 21 50+ yard plays in his careeer….we had 0 as a team last year. We also have a beast receiver by the name of Mike Evans who will be lined up on the opposite side of him. He’s missed 19 out of 144 games….injuries happen. Forget what you heard, we NEED DeSean Jackson.

  24. Bucsfan4life Says:

Per Adam scheffter deal is done as long as no snags

  25. William Says:

And according to Adam Schefter on Mike & Mike, it’s official….D Jax had agreed to terms with the Bucs !!!

  26. Jonzey Says:

We need to stop waiting and sign D. Jax now

  27. Another J Says:

I believe we could get at least 3 or 4 good years out DeSean Jackson, sign, and still draft a speedster in the 2nd round!

  28. AceMcBuc Says:

Pewter Report is reporting the deal for DeSean Jackson is done. Both sides agreed to the deal.

  29. Jonzey Says:

I believe we got D. Jax thank you now get other role players now

  30. rayjay1122 Says:

I would be fine with getting D Jax. Every time Winston would throw deep, I would know instantly that it would be overthrown by about 5 yards, so maybe with some speed, the ball will be right on the money on those deep out patterns. Not a dig on Winston, just what has been observed time and again. We need great speed with reliable hands very badly.

  31. Ed Says:

Jackson is also a terrific punt returner, just go ask the NY Giants. Big weakness of Bucs passing game was it was only 2 layers, Brate or Humpries short, Evans next level but no one 25-35 yards downfield. Jackson has made his name in the NFL making 40 yard catches and outrunning the next 25-30 yards.

I didn’t look it up but I’m sure his average career touchdown number is over 25 upcoming.

  32. Jonzey Says:

I would not use him on Sp teams I would draft a WR who can take that on or get one for that in the later rounds

  33. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Don’t even think about using him on STs.. Draft Kermitt for that.

  34. mike Says:

its 11am and everyone is excited about DJAX but his agent is still shopping so I’d wait til it offical
