Dotson Out

Bad melon

A little surprise was delivered by the Bucs this evening.

Today’s post-practice injury report revealed starting right tackle Demar Doston was sidelined with a concussion and did not practice.

Dotson appeared to finish Sunday’s game in great shape, so this was eye-opening news.

Left guard Kevin Pamphile missed two games with concussion issues in November and returned for the Bucs’ crushing of the Seahawks.

If Dotson can’t play Sunday, then Joe suspects Gosder Cherilus would step right in seamlessly. Cherilus, 32, started 13 games last year and played pretty darn well.

Cherilus is earning $4.5 million this season and is set to be an unrestricted free agent in March. If he’s seeking another big pay day in the NFL, then a December start is an ideal time to put quality work on film.

Hopefully, Doston can make it back. He joined Adam Humphries on the bench in the bad melon club at practice.

Don’t like to see any player injured, but I have a hard time not thinking Cherilus is an upgrade at tackle. Not sure what the coaches have been seeing in practice to give Dotson the start, but he looks like ‘subpar’ @ best on Sundays.

Hahaha bet you wouldn’t call it the “bad melon club” in front of Dot.. Cherilus stepping in seamlessly is a pipe dream. He has repeatedly gotten beat this year and unfortunately I think that will be a problem against the saints. That being said, I don’t particularly care for Dot on the field and will be happy when he is replaced in the off-season.

  3. North Korea's Quarterback Says:

Definitely disagree on Gos being a seamless replacement. In spite of all the penalties hes gets, Dot is a reliable pass blocker and that’s the most important thing.

Dotson has been horrible. Huge mistake signing him. Horrible horrible player

    North Korea’s Quarterback

Dotson could not block a paraplegic transvestite you might want to rewatch games. He’s been getting abused like a sons of anarchy prison scene victim

  7. Warthog Says:

The only lineman with more penalties than Dotson is Cher when he comes in a heavy package and forgets to report eligible smdh

Like seriously @tmax, just how long have you been a genuine Bucs fan?

Joe Dot and Gos should take a back seat to Kevin Pamphile. KP is a excellent LG but if you remember a while back when they gave him a couple snaps at LT in his interview he was excited. We really have a line that can protect Winston for years. To prolong the older guys careers bench Dot and Gos and let them back up the young guys. After the season is over because if ain’t broke you don’t fix it. The line should be arranged like this in OTA.

    LT Donavan Smith
    LG Ali Marpet
These 2 dudes are best buds so put them on the blindside forever!
C Ben Gottchalk he did a good job being thrusted in the fire.
RG Josh Allen he did good and he squat 585.
LT Kevin Pamphile He loves playing tackle ask him.

There’s a line that can block for JW for years. I’m just saying!

That’s two LTs u got listed there homie
