Guard Down

November 18th, 2016

kevin pamphileTums is on Joe’s Sunday lunch menu.

Dirk Koetter announced this afternoon that starting left guard Kevin Pamphile, despite practicing this week, will be out of action Sunday courtesy of the NFL concussion policies.

“He will not make it. He’s not going to get out of the protocol,” Koetter said.

What a kick in the groin this is on the heels of Koetter saying fill-in rookie Caleb Benenoch had a “rocky debut” versus the Bears.

Hopefully, what ailed Benenoch on Sunday were jitters more than anything. That Chiefs defense and a furiously loud stadium is tough duty for a guy making his second NFL start.

Geez how many games do you need to sit out for a concussion

    Until you pass protocol…

    Death blow for this game.

    @ Jolly Bucs Fan

However long it takes, there is no set time frame. For example Luke Kuechly was out a month last season because of a concussion.

    Nooooooo

Outlook for this game just got much worse.

No one gave us a chance to win the last game either.

How about we actually wait and see? Any. Given. Sunday.

“Gump, my big head will feel alot better if you start talking to my agent and give me some of the sweezy money” pamphile

You guys think when a gm gives 10 mill to someone who never practiced creates problems in the locker room

    Pamphile making 600k

*joe told me pamphile has copies of all my kobe posts and hangs it on his locker for motivation

Bonzai, Do not disrespect the Kansas City Chiefs defense by comparing them to the Bears this year. Lets be real

Not really considering you’re the only human being following the team who has this thought and all media sources seem to say we have a pretty good locker room chemistry.

Sh1t happens. Injuries happen. We don’t have a perfect medical understanding of everything in the human body. You act like you could have done the medical on Sweezy and come up with a different result. Just stop.

Yeah, just ask all the former NFL players who can no longer wipe their own butt or drive alone to the grocery store without having to ask for directions each time. What a moronic comment!

  19. Pa Privateer Says:

Run Blocking is easier than Pass blocking. Dougernaut is getting more healthy each week. This week he will be able to handle more carries. Let’s just force the ball down there throats and then PA to Evans.

  20. Fred E. Buc Says:

The Bucs limped into Carolina and out of Carolina with a victory. They were without EVERYBODY. Yup, it will be rough and the Chiefs are scary good. But so were the Steelers at home two years ago and the Bucs had NEVER beaten them at home…and they did it with some luck and even with Mike Glennon at QB. The Chiefs lost against the Steelers and the Texans, and they are really banged up for Sunday–the Bucs have some aches and pains, but healthier than they’ve been since Week 1 at Atlanta. Time for the Bucs! So let’s get the swagger on and get into KC and break a few things! Go Bucs!

Put IR Sneezy in there! Oh, wait…

  22. Negative Jeff Says:

Any hope they had is gone now. Caleb is terrible. Just terrible.

  23. Jimmy T Says:

I guess Sweezy has been totally forgotten . What a waste of money.

  24. Mord Says:

Agree with lightningbuc.. the concussion protocol is _not_ BS, and not to be taken lightly.

Hell, look at Luke Kuechly this week. Hard to see someone (even a player on a ‘hated’ rival team) in that much pain, and with the effects of the concussion perhaps dazing down his ability to contain his emotions and fears about that kind of hurt.

It’s your whole life up in that coconut

I hope Pamphile heals quickly, and properly.

  25. orlbucfan Says:

Concussions are head injuries, and I for one am glad that the NFL is (finally) taking them seriously. I agree with @Mord:
