Yes, yes, yes, the defense was beyond dominant last night. And early on, the offense was on fire.

Bucs coach Dirk Koetter even remarked he couldn’t have scripted the first two drives any better.

But after that? Yikes.

Joe has already written this morning that he was nervous as hell in the second half, thinking surely the Bucs would, again, find a way to lose. It seems Joe had good reason for being pessimistic.

Props go to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times for digging up this nugget.

It seems prior to last night, 44 times the Bucs failed to score in the final three quarters of a game. They lost all 44 games.

Last night was the very first time in franchise history the Bucs failed to score in the final three quarters and ran to the locker room as victors.

That’s how dominant the defense was.

It was just bad luck we didn’t score more. We were moving it pretty well to close the half. Brate gets the out of bounds call 9 times out of 10. Dougie fumbled when were rolling towards another score, and the ref killed Jaboo’s 3rd td pass with the phantom call. We did what we wanted all game. Everything is good. Y’all are starting to sound like Tampa Tony. Don’t go there. This team is playing as good or better than any. We will beat Dallas, if we stay healthy. Remember the Giants winning it all when they stood at 9-7? They gelled late, and took advantage. We’re doing the same.
