Behind-The-Scenes Aggression

November 27th, 2016
Koetter goes behind the scenes of Vernon Hargreaves.

Dirk Koetter talks  Vernon Hargreaves.

On Thanksgiving, Joe shared what Dirk Koetter said about the evolution of rookie cornerback Vernon Hargreaves.

Friday on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Koetter went deeper.

The head coach explained that Hargreaves has shown a steady growth in confidence after facing the likes of Julio Jones, Demaryius Thomas and others. And now Koetter says he sees Hargreaves getting a lot more aggressive this month in practice with Mike Evans.

Overall, candid Koetter said he couldn’t ask for anything more out of Hargreaves.

With stud receiver Doug Baldwin of Seattle on today’s docket, and Brent Grimes dealing with a thigh bruise, Hargreaves could be thrust into a major spotlight at 4 o’clock.

The Seahawks live via the passing game and their defense. What a time it would be for Hargreaves’ first interception, or at least a breakthrough game.

“Because on Sundays, we are not Seminoles fans or Gators fans or Canes fans or Bulls fans or Knights fans. We are Bucs fans together and Jameis fans in particular. As we know by now, as Jameis goes, so go the Bucs.”
I’ve been a Gator for 45 years and I will be doing the Warchant all the way from Montana today during the game today if I hear it in the Stadium. I will also be purchasing NosBos a Noah Spence57 Jersey. Good game Noles
    ……………
    Now GOOOOO BUUUUUUUUUUCSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. SB with Jameis Says:

Now, on the VH3 subject, he has Always been best at Press Man Cover. He is big and strong enough to knock WRs off their routes and disrupt the QB’s timing. Playing 8 to 10 yards of the LOS is not using him correctly IMO

  3. WyomingBucsFan Says:

I’m telling you! He’s Deion reborn.

  4. Kevin Says:

Been saying that about our corners for years. I wanna see some press coverage more often. We NEVER jam the receivers but at least playing man is better than a gaping hole between the corners and the safeties

  5. Bigbucs1 Says:

I hope you guys are right about vh3- I haven’t been too impressed but I guess time is key- I guess at this point I would still like to have drafted Bullard/ or rankins. Patience is key, I really hope he becomes a staple on defense.

  6. Kobe Faker Says:

Going to have to watchout for lockett

His rac and skillset is our weakness

  7. WyomingBucsFan Says:

Our corners are playing great, so I don’t see a problem with the off coverage. You play off so you can keep the play to your atvantage. You keep one eye on the QB and when he throws, your in perfect position to brake on the ball.

  8. Dave Says:

TheBucCB’s have been pretty darn good. They need – a consistent pass rush still and a safety

  9. unbelievable Says:

They’ve been playing a bit more press in recent weeks, which I think has been effective. I’d like to see much more of it though. The problem with playing 10 yards off all the time is then the intermediate and underneath routes are always open.

NosBos must be stoked about getting his Spawn jersey. Would love to see him take Wilson down once or twice today. Go Bucs!

  10. SB with Jameis Says:

Well I’m off to Church and then I will be prepping the property for Winter until the Game starts. See you guys during the Game. GO BUCS!!!

    @BigBucs1

“I hope you guys are right about vh3- I haven’t been too impressed but I guess time is key-”

Remember how Ronde started off his rookie year? Abysmal.

VH3 is a rookie playing to not make a mistake. So far he has been average without knowing what the heck is going on. I’m hoping by next year he becomes a terror paired with Grimes.

  12. Destinjohnny Says:

He is solid man. He has quick feet and can stop and start with the best of them.
It’s just being 5’9 and running a 4.54 forty that gets him in trouble.
Glad he is a buc but i think he had a 2nd round draft pic skill set

  13. DB55 Says:

He needs to be returning punts while he’s at it.
