Koetter Didn’t Trust Weapons

October 30th, 2016
Can't trust passing attack.

Can’t trust passing attack.

Want to know why Bucs coach Dirk Koetter went turtle at the end of the first half and in particular, in the final Bucs possession of the fourth quarter?

Koetter doesn’t trust the passing weapons at the disposal of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston.

Yeah, the Bucs have Mike Evans. That’s about it. You know it, and Raiders coach Jack Del Rio sure as hell knows it.

Russell Shepard got hurt, you have Rudy Humphries, an average weapon, and schlock. Freddie Martino? Give Joe a friggin’ break. Cecil Shorts has been invisible.

On top of that, the Bucs are banking on the modern day version of Jan Stenerud to make a field goal.

You would feed the ball to Jacquizz Rodgers, too.

This is not the same team that beat the Dixie Chicks. Vincent Jackson is likely gone for the season. Doug Martin is out until who the hell knows when? Tweety, huge bowel movement ASJ has taken his act to New Jersey (where he is hurt).

The Bucs simply cannot bank on an up-tempo passing attack, not even in crunch time. They just don’t have the horses. And no one knows this better than Koetter.

  1. BusteisWinston Says:

You know Busteis is not good enough Joe. Swallow your pride and admit it. Can’t blame Koetter for not trusting a QB who hasn’t proven he can consistently complete a 5 yard pass.

  2. unbelievable Says:

No Joe, he went turtle because once again he was playing not to lose, instead of playing to win.

I thought he already learned this lesson? Apparently not.

Jameis was wildly inaccurate. Very disappointing.

Raiders gave us the game every chance they could.

  3. Chucklehead Says:

Koetter really needs to grow a pair.

  4. Stevek Says:

    What’s weapons, Joe?

Shepherd was hurt. Evans had some almost drops.

I think it’s bull spit that our defensive line couldn’t generate sheeit to assist with trying to stop Carr.

    Winston was inaccurate.

  5. MadMax Says:

    WINSTON SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Time to start rethinking the QB of our future!

  6. Chrisco4BUCS Says:

Where the Hedoublell was the pass rush, 22 penalties on the opposing team and still lose…..SMGDH

  7. MadMax Says:

    Our D sucks too!

  8. Lue88 Says:

Winston was way off target after that first half. I don’t blame koetter at all.

  9. Tackleblockwin Says:

I agree Joe. But you can’t do that. I didn’t even see us go to no huddle to try to find a spark.

  10. dr. lob Says:

Winston is the reason the coach does not trust the passing game. He is very inaccurate and missed several throws. Just being a good leader and a good competitor does not make you a great quarterback. We have to draft a quarterback for the future.

  11. lurker Says:

why the heck don’t you call out jameis winston, joe? koetter does not trust him.

  12. Chucklehead Says:

That was some gutless and unimaginative play calling. Really hard to swallow this one but the Raiders tried their hardest to give that game to us and we completely rejected it.

  13. MadMax Says:

Just might’ve seen our last win last week…..here we come top 10 pick in the draft (that needs to be traded down for more picks)

  14. Chrisco4BUCS Says:

I’m a lifer but damn man, when will the BS end, I may go to bed

  15. Tampabaybucfan Says:

It seemed like Winston was trying to see how far he could throw…..constantly overthrowing receivers…..

No real pass rush…..none….Carr had all day.

  16. cmurda Says:

Forget about thinking playoffs. This defense blew their chance to rise after we took the lead and then Dirk went all soft with the playcalling. The players played like crap and the coaches got outcoached. This is a bad team. No better than last year. Licht has done very little and failed way more than succeeded.

  17. Tb501 Says:

    This sucks

  18. iamkingsu Says:

Bucs give up waaaaaaay too many easy completions. What’s wrong with every DC we get?? Everyone always try and rush four with the same d(a)mm people!

  19. tdtb2015 Says:

    Winston was off today….

  20. Pruritus Ani Says:

In spite of all those negatives, the opponent consistently put you in a position to win with their penalties. The loss is inexcusable and cannot be justified.

  21. iamkingsu Says:

Why the hell we can’t tackle??

  22. passthebuc Says:

@ Joe. How about playing someone that isn’t America’s quarterback. And please stop talking about playoff’s and just on winning a game. I would much rather see Glennon play but if that happens, they might just win a game. And I do not believe that is there objective.

  23. dusthty rhothdes Says:

How about calling out jason licht, needed safeties needed playmakers, need DL AND this dunderbox gets a short corner and a K… bravo

  24. daveman Says:

America must becoming real small. Because “America’s Quarterback” isn’t even the best quarterback to play in Tampa Bay. Maybe we should name him Tampa’s Quarterback–Sunday only.

Winston stunk for the last 4 quarters of this game bottom line.

Our defense didn’t help matters letting Oakland drop back 60 times and getting like 2 sacks and no ints. But if Gannon started that game we win, no doubt. Winston needs to get a lot better. I’ll take getting less sucky at this point.

  25. FowlBall Says:

    Dear Bucs:

Uh-uh. No. Nope. Non. Nein. Nyet.

    I’m done.

    Thanks for nothing.

  26. Joseph Mamma Says:

Let’s take it easy on Koetter, he wanted Mariota, and he now is stuck with Winston.

  27. Marlow1976 Says:

    I feel sick.

  28. Ed Says:

That’s a great pivot Joe, deflect the blame that when the Buc receivers do get behind the defense Winston can’t hit them.

I watched a pro QB in Derick Carr and now I’ll watch 2 more, Rogers and Ryan.

Winston is bad, Koetter deserves blame but if Jameis hits his throws there’s a couple of more touchdowns on the board

  29. unbelievable Says:

    No pass rush.

    VH3 manhandled.

    Jameis wildly inaccurate.

Koetter coached scared, conservative, and unimaginative.

Raiders gave us 200+ yards in penalties.

This team has looooonnnngggg ways to go.

  30. cmurda Says:

This D Line is atrocious. You can’t expect a secondary to cover 2 elite WR’s. No pressure all game. Spence did very little on the outside. Draft a DE with the 1st round pick please. Licht still needs to be taken to the shed for drafting any kicker let alone one that stinks.

  31. iamkingsu Says:

Can we at least try and bring a receiver in??

  32. Lamarcus Says:

Defense sucked again. I was happy w the bucs until today now I’m mad again

  33. Chucklehead Says:

Really all that happened was we played a better team than we have been playing and it showed. We looked ok against lesser competition. Now, just imagine Oak didnt have all the penalties. We would have been routed. Carr 40/59 over 500 yards. At times in these ga.es we just look so basic.

  34. Bird Says:

Funny that people blame koetter. Agree that he has to call a game based on how consistently inconsistent jameis is…he is hot and cold. No lukewarm. Just terrible with a 5 yard pass and the deep ball. They said he had a terrible week of practice so again the coach is not soft. What is he supposed to do?

  35. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Beat the worst team in the NFL in the 49ers and the Bucs are playoff bound. Lose to a much better team in the Raiders and suddenly Winston’s replacement needs to be drafted. You morons crack me up with your stupid emotional swings.

  36. Tampa Tony Says:

First the joes wanted johnny drunk now their new qb crush can’t hit anyone

  37. LakeLandBuc Says:

LoL, this is toooooo funny. 23 penalties for 200 yards and they still manage to gain 626 yards and score 30 points. A PATHETIC effort from PATHETIC players, on a PATHETIC team.

  38. Bird Says:

Americas quarterback. That’s hilarious joe. We need to stay away from those fsu players for a while

  39. daveman Says:

Bird, to be honest, one thing Kotter can do is move Jamis around more. He sucks less when moving outside the pocket and is actually able to hit a 5 yard pass. The Raiders basically took away the running game and pressed coverage and did not care if our receivers ran wide open down the field because Tampa’s Quarterback–Sunday’s Only couldn’t get the ball within 10 yards of wide open guys for touchdowns.

  40. passthebuc Says:

Interesting they could put Rogers in and everything worked for Rogers. How about putting Glennon in and see what happens. Overthrowing wide open receivers just does not cut it. Also, seldom do you see Winston throw a pass just as the receiver is out of his break. He sees the break and waits till the D Back closes the gap.
Sorry Charlie Tuna, I am not sold.

  41. Mark Says:

Has nothing to do with the weapons and everything to do with Jameis’s inability to throw an accurate pass. But go ahead and keep defending the guy while we continue to lose game after game because of Jameis.

  42. daveman Says:

    FLBOYDallas,
All true, but the superior team tried to give the game away. If our QB was average, we win. Period. If Oakland didn’t vomit all over themselves with penalties then you can say we were beat by a better team and that’s that.

  43. FamousAnus Says:

Jameis was so awful. The guy has very bad accuracy issues. I am starting to doubt if Famous Anus will ever be anything more than a mediocre NFL qb

  44. Chucklehead Says:

All the mindless bums blaming a gm for the coaches bad play calling and players not executing.

Bet you wont praise the gm when a player he signs or drafts make a play to seal a game for the win.

  45. Not there yet Says:

Damn Jason Licht you really look like an idiot right now. You should be the one at the podium taking the heat for that weak odd draft. You could make up for it by trading for a receiver or atleast pass rush help.

To his credit he expected his team to compete for the playoffs but he apparently placed all the blame on lovie coaching. Re-evaluate yourself you haven’t put this team in position to take a division up for grabs

  46. Vincente Says:

This has nothing to do with the head coach but lack of talent on the field! My goodness the Raiders kept giving the yucs a chance to win and nothing! QB play F. O line play F. D Line play F. Secondary F. Special teams F. Those are my grades and I’m not going to change them until the yucs are healthy again. Oh and better get ready for the ass kicking Atlanta is about to bring. DEN OF DEPRESSION should be put on those giant screens to show the players how we really feel. I’m physically sick. My stomach hurts.

  47. JP4 Says:

    Joe:
America’s QB…right! Just admit – the Bucs, once again, picked the wrong guy @ QB. Like death & taxes, the Bucs can be counted on to pick a dud at QB, or, to run a decent pick into the ground and trade him away to a team that rides him to a Super Bowl. If Jameis Winston will EVER be America’s QB, it will be for somebody else!

So, time to change your annoying & repetitive moniker for Winston.

Jameis Winston, you buy a QB like this I bet you get a free bowl of soup!

  48. lurker Says:

who is our secondary? vh3 was overmatched and too short, though a rookie, can’t teach height. why spend for grimes? mcdougald as a starter, well he is improving. never liked conte. jude adji- over banks? we are hurting in the secondary.

  49. daveman Says:

….or a free bucket of crab legs.

  50. Ind.Bucforlife77 Says:

Sad but true……. Still did a decent job taking a very good team into O.T, with a lot of players missing

  51. dubstepper Says:

Well said Joe. When the pieces are there and Jameis can get some throws back this team will produce.

  52. SOEbuc Says:

Total reversal for Jameis today. Hot in the beginning and then it all went down hill. Jameis CAN NOT complete downfield passes. Even when his receivers have good separation.

  53. Lee Encinosa Says:

You guys need to quit watching the NO FUN LEAGUE. Every game on every Sunday there is a penalty on every other play. The rules have been changed too much over the last few years to accommodate fantasy football league. The NFL is a steamy pile of spit. Let me shorten the suspense for you guys anyway. The SB winner is going to the New England Cheaters anyway. Watch a real men’s game and team……The Tampa Bay Lightning which plays in the best sports league on the planet…..the NHL.

  54. BucFan20 Says:

Mike Evans made Johnny Football. So now we know someone must have made Jameis Winston!

  55. Bucnut2 Says:

We need to draft a QB this year. The only question Winston answers is who will be driving a beer truck in two years. He is AWEFUl

  56. Bucme Says:

And if #38 does not hold, when we had them stoped on 4th down in regulation we win the game. That cost us the game.

  57. Greg Says:

No, he doesn’t trust Winston because he’s one of the worst QBs in the NFL

  58. LargoBuc Says:

Lets relax. This team would’ve goten curbstomped by a team as talented as the Raiders just two years ago. And is this lack of an offense news this season? Jameis has Evans and that is it. We will not be able to take advantage of penalties/mistakes with guys like Adam Humphries, Russel Sheppard, Luke Stocker etc.
Defensively, we got some pieces but we need help at safety and defensive end. Hargreaves has been pretty good but he got schooled by the likes if Cooper/Crab. Noah Spence is probably a season away from being able to make an impact on a consistent basis.
I think the most important thing is to give Dirk the time he needs and we will compete after another draft or two. Just not ready in 2016. And btw, Jameis is also figuring it out. He needs time to get everything down, mechanics included.

  59. Eric Says:

Dear Joe, If you wish to retain what credibility you have left you need to call out the real problem…..Jamarcus Leafwhich or as you like to call him America’s quarterback. What a freaking joke!!! Glennon deserves to be our quarterback not the guy who has lead the league in interceptions since he has been in the league. I can’t think of another QB who overthrows nearly every pass he throws.
Mike Evans deserves an apology for blaming the drops last year on him. I would drop lots of passes if they were all over my head. His height and arm length make it seem like the balls are within reach but the reality of it all is that if he was of average height he wouldn’t even come close to touching the balls, much less catch them. Of course Koetter played it safe, his quarterback is an absolute failure. How is it that a guy who has played football his whole life can’t throw a ball within 5 yards of his receivers. The two biggest failures/ disappointments are both from FSU!

  60. MadMax Says:

@Bucfan20, yep, Kelvin Benjamin….but he wasnt overthrowing as much back then either.

  61. AtlBucFanDan Says:

You all have it wrong. Jude lost us the game

  62. Bucnut2 Says:

Eric- totally agree with you.Winston is just aweful and is hand cuffing Dirk. Time to mov on. Great guy, horrible QB

  63. CloGreen Says:

Mariota is BY FAR the better QB. LICHT DROPPED THE BALL ONCE AGAIN!! HE IS STR8 TRASH

  64. fiftyfive Says:

On every pass play winston was rushed, hit , or sacked. Meanwhile, derek carr had all day. Winston has 2 secs max to get rid of the ball and we are still calling these plays that have long developing routes. Dumb. Bad coaching/playcalling, and no pressure.

  65. Bucnut2 Says:

Licht needs to go as he bet his career on both Winston and RA.

  66. martinii Says:

OK, I’m, so pissed I can’t type. Whoever drew up that last regular time possession with 1 minute and 38 seconds and 3 timeouts should never be aloud to step on an NFL football field again. We just got beat by a team that broke the all time number and yardage for penalties in a game. (Were talking leather helmet sh#$^t here), against one of the leagues best place kicker who misses not one but two chances to win the game, and a team with the 28th worst defense in the game. Jameis Winston couldn’t throw a ball downfield if his mothers life depended on it. He must think all our receivers are 7’2″. Poor play calling, poor execution, poor coaching, terrible DB play and to top it off we may have lost the last decent RB on our team. It is time to start looking toward the draft because we sure as hell don’t have anything that resembles a team this year!!!!!

  67. Bucnut2 Says:

Martini- agreed. Let’s draft a QB

  68. dee Says:

    @Bucme

    Your right!!!!

  69. The Buc Realist Says:

2017 NFL Bucs Draft…….WR, TE, and safety!!!!!!

  70. VaBuc Says:

So we’re gonna act as if our slot corner andbdbjdj bimdjdldl ( whatever his name is ) didnt blow the game with the hold on 4th down in the 4th quarter b4 overtime game was over but he holds when Carr wasn’t even looking in that direction smgdh HE BLEW IT

  71. Bucnut2 Says:

Glogreen- TOTALLY agree!! Mariotta is MUCH better. I argued for us drafting him ahead of Winston and was BLASTED on this site and others. There are too many homers on this site.

  72. Bucnut2 Says:

va- The game was blown buy out terribly inaccurate QB, who is AWEFUL

  73. unbelievable Says:

    That’s a good point BucMe.

But how many opportunities did we have to win the game? Seal the victory?

We couldn’t capitalize on any of them! Same as the Rams game.

  74. VaBuc Says:

Jude lost the game @bucnut it was 4th down he overthrew Crabtree game over but nah the holding penalty game them life they scored here come that deperessing overtime…..jameis has been horrible tho his Accuracy is a real issue he overthrew alot of people even on short intermediate routes but JUDE lost the game

  75. Birdman Says:

Everyone, quick. Go look at Corey Davis’ film. Kid is a beast. Like 6″2 215, and half of his highlights are screen passes for TDs.. I think hes a perfect #2 for Dirks offense. We just saw firsthand how it feels when your two outside threats are monsters, Im excited for the draft after today… Thats all I have to be excited about.

  76. cobra Says:

wow befor half. 135 min. and 3 time outs . then no attack!!. no huddle all the way would have been nice get a feild goal maybe and win this game . no balls!! but reffs sucked to. game was over and they threw flag on other side of feild dumb ass. head to head contact . no call!! pulling on receiver arm no call. n f l . sucks glade 35% down in watching. hope new league trys to come in again. nfl is full of crap and people know it!!

  77. Kevin Says:

500 plus yards of offense allowed on top of what would have been more yardage had the raiders not commited almost 200 yards of penalties. Nobody getting open need another weapon other than evans defense still sucks no pass rush WTF!!!

  78. BucsFan90 Says:

Dork Quitter is a punk with a loser mentality. Nothing more demoralizing to a team than to see your head coach concede with 1:30 left in the half and 3 timeouts. Pathetic

  79. mike10 Says:

Chris Crinlge sucks. That deep throw from mod field on first down when you only needed a FG in OT, after Winston was spraying the field on deep balls was deplorable (that was the first 3 and out in OT).

  80. Dr A Says:

Ive been saying this all week, we need to make a play for Rashad Greene, someone jameis knows and trusts.

  81. Eric Says:

Bucnut 2, I am in total agreement about who we should have picked. fiftyfive, you need to wake up and smell the coffee. I’m going to go out on a limb and say you are a FSU fan or you just ran out of your meds. If they don’t put in Glennon after this disaster I’m done watching this team. The reason I will stop is because that means they no longer care about winning, instead they don’t want to admit they picked the wrong guy. The same can be said for our 2nd round bust who they refuse to put on the bench. I really feel for Koetter because if he had at least an average QB and an average kicker we would be 5-2.

  82. JM Says:

It’s ok at least we have Marcus. Oh wait

  83. Eric Says:

Pretty funny that the headliner to this article reads Koetter didn’t trust weapons. What it should have said is “Koetter’s weapons have failed him…again”

  84. grafikdetail Says:

if your QB is off or not having a decent day… you know what good OCs do? call plays to get their QB in a rhythm & back into the game but nope!!! every pass play seems to be a long developing pass play 15+ yards down the field… losing faith in winston, koetter and licht for not even attempting to get better players at WR & safety this offseason

  85. lurker Says:

bye eric. please leave here too when you stop watching because winston is starting and playing thursday. *waving

  86. Dexter Says:

I don’t know what game y’all been watching jameis kept us in the game
DB holding our receivers all day throwing there timing off defense was the problem down the stretch stop blaming the quarterback quarterback don’t play defense jameis could have been 100% aquarate score 5 touchdown we would have been in the same situation we need to fix the defense things will change

  87. Mo_Downs Says:

I might remind the masses that Derrick Carr set a Raider franchise “passing” yards record this afternoon against a draft/FA infused BUC defense.

  88. 1Gr8Buc Says:

Some of you are f#@*!ng idiots or drunk off your ass….. Maybe both. Glennon has no damn business doing anything other than holding a clipboard, we are NOT and do NOT need to draft a QB. The holding on 4th down lost us this game. To the ones running their mouth about not watching anymore or jumping ship, please do, no room for weak ass people on this wagon. If lovie was still coaching it would have been over in the 1st quarter. F#@k off and go root for another team.

  89. Rod Munch Says:

The defense gave up the most yards in team history – and the story is about Jameis? Really?

I said at the time Lovie shouldn’t have been fired. The defense was 10th in the league in yards last year and the offense was 5th. Dirk was doing a great job with Winston and running the offense, so why in the world would you want to take him out of that position and put him in a situation where he wouldn’t be able to concentrate on what he’s always done. The simple fact he’s standing on the field calling plays can even make a big difference. Dirk is not head coaching material – thus the reason he’s an old guy who never had an NFL HC job. He’s a really good coordinator, and some people are just that (think Monte Kiffin – although Kiffin is an all-time great). The team feels in disarray in large part because you have a head coach that doesn’t have the temperament to be a head coach.

When I said that I don’t recall a single other person siding with me on here. Anywho now we get to hear all the dolts demand we fire yet another headcoach – so lets get the cycle of hiring/firing headcoaches down to about a 2 week turn around time, that should work really well.

  90. BucFan20 Says:

Excuses as usual. Oh poor baby having a bad day. The only team he can beat is a BAD team. Today he could not even beat a BAD defense and let them hang around.

  91. grafikdetail Says:

exactly the QB that during preseason couldn’t even score on 3rd & 4th stringers & did nothing but check down.. would’ve won the game today if he was playing LOL dude had more INTs than TDs during the preseason

  92. Chucklehead Says:

    Dexter.

Its the usual bunch of buzzards that are anti Winston that like to pipe up when we lose. They have no answers, they have no clue. Winston has played 23 pro games. Guess he hasnt figured out and masteree every facet of the game by now so lets get rid of him. Or they are just butt burt that the Titans and Mariota won a game.

  93. grafikdetail Says:

glennon went 21 for 45 (46.7%) for 215 yards with 1 TD & 1 INT but he’s better than winston… you dudes are idiots… for the record mariota is having a worse season this year & is struggling… carr struggled also his 1st two season but when teams are patient and give their QB weapons you see what can happen

  94. Ed Says:

Through Raheem, Greg, Lovie and now Dirk, there have been times when the Buc fans start to hope after a couple of wins that the Bucs can go on a roll and become a team that deserves respect.

Then just at that time the fans get excited the Bucs will lose games that they have opportunities to win, especially at their home stadium.

The same thing happens, over and over, the coaches and players change but the on-field product, especially in front of their fans, is worse than mediocre.

The Raiders made too many mistakes to win a game, only the Buccaneers could put on such a pathetic performance in a game that had they won would have given them some respectability.

  95. Jolly Bucs Fan Says:

    Koetter = Lovie 2.0

  96. Ed Says:

Carr may have struggled earlier in his career but his mechanics and footwork will always be better than Winstons. He was never inaccurate like our QB nor did he have a slow release and hold on to the ball too long.

  97. Ind.Bucforlife77 Says:

Are you all serious, he has one true weapon that he reall trusts on offensive and outside of 13 we are hit right. J.W is far better than Mariota and would be a senior in college this year. One of the reasons we got 6 wins last year was because of his play and competitiveness. Every great QB doesn’t take off like A. Luck who has recently dropped off to because they are putting to much on him. Everyone loved Jameis last year and said Jason. L was a rockstar for what was our best draft ever. 4 major pug and play players. A QB who leads by actions and a 4th round middle LB that was on no ones radar who has basically came in and taken over the great Lavonte David!!!!!! Stop hating on him, he had a good rookie season and all everyone was saying was how great he was. We need to fill 4 more holes and we should be close to complete with everyone playing in the same offensive and defensive scheme for a few and couple years. Next year all you haters that expect instant gratification because we have sucked for so long. It takes a few years for the best QB’s to get comfortable to the speed of the game and the anticipation. Take down your picket signs and Jameis and kwon will Join DB55 and W.Sapp believe that. Don’t give up on a special player in the 2nd year of a team that’s not put together. If We had Carson Wentz and J.W. Played for Philly, he would have had them in the playoffs last year as well as this year. We are still missing vital components and Cogs that you see these other QB’s succeeding. If you can’t see how J.W changed the culture in his rookie season then open you closed eyes. So fast to turn on players it is a joke. By far the best QB we have ever had and 50-70% of you are saying get rid of him. We will see what you say next year. Oakland was in a similar position as us when they drafted D.Carrband he was hated as well until mid season last year. Now everyone is on _utts. Back the fu&& of a good thing. Or he will be gone like Donald Penn and M. Bennett who is killing and has been every since Rock Star didn’t think we needed him. He causes so much chaos it’s crazy. He strips, sacks collects fumble recoveries. He is a beast and anyone with a football IQ knows this, be patient you will see J.W emerge

  98. Ana Says:

“Lets draft a QB” you people are so funny! Jamies was not good today but how many times can he be asked to give us the lead, the only to have the defense give up the lead? An inaffective QB STILL put 27 points up, an inaffective defense gave up 34!

  99. chipbuc Says:

The same jackasses come out of the woodwork after a loss. Winston sucks , we picked the wrong QB,its so predictable. I would have respect for you if we heard from you after a win. But that wouldnt go along with you Mariota lovers agenda. Heres an idea give Winston 2 wr like Carr has and he would do much better. Its time to get Winston some weapons to throw to, either thru the draft or free agency. Its not rocket science, they need more talent to go to the next level. Simple as that.

  100. Chris Says:

Get Winston go ahead. That still won’t stop him from missing them by a mile. Sheesh. Once the second qtr hit on two throws same drive he has Evans wide open and over throws him in the 10-15 yard route range.

You want to see an accurate qb? A real franchise qb? Look at the guy who shredded us today. You see Carr throw the rock and he has excellent mechanics and accuracy. And his timing is superb. You watch Winston drop back and you wonder if he’ll even place the ball in a catchable area for his receiver.

  101. Silent_Partner Says:

Defense gives up 700 yards of offense and Jameis has 1 NFL caliber receiver to throw to, but it’s his fault he can’t will them to victory despite scoring 27 points today with no running game. As I said when Lovie Smith got fired last year, next step is turning on Winston. That’s the Buc fans I know, lol.

  102. Silent_Partner Says:

    Ed ,
You don’t watch Carr much do you. He’s streaky as I don’t know what, and any objective Raider fan would tell you that’s one of their bigger criticisims of him. When he’s on, he’s on, when he’s not, he’s not. Sounds a lot like Winston except he’s got Cooper, Crabtree, Walford, and a 10 times better offensive line that’s given up 8 sackes this season compared to that garbage unit you all think is Pro Bowl level despite it largely being a bunch of castoffs along with the 2 2nd year guys that came in from last year’s draft. Buc fans are so funny. Raiders have literally spent most of their FA money and many high draft picks on their offensive line.

Not sure how Bucs defense was still standing: From start of second quarter on, time of possession had Raiders at 40:15, Bucs at 18:00.

Harp on the defense all you want. But 40 min TOP for the raiders and 18 for the yucks.

  104. Buddha Says:

Biggest difference is that Carr had all day to throw (no pressure) whereas Jameis was forced rush throws causing the inaccurate passes

  105. Jayd Says:

No pressure to Carr was the key and it just kept happening. No blitz or pressure and he sat back there and picked us apart. Matt Ryan will do the same thing if they don’t learn from this. Don’t want to hear about keeping the other fans out of the stadium when our team keeps putting the results (Loses) Sucks to go to these games and watch that crap and the walk of shame after

  106. Buc1987 Says:

The game was lost on the 4th down defensive holding penalty.

  107. Silent_Partner Says:

Make all the excuses you want son. Sure didn’t bother Denver and other good defenses. They are the ones who got all the money and draft picks spent on it, and they were boo boo. They gave up 600+ yards. That’s 6 0 0+ for the slow people, but keep blaming your QB, lol.

  108. Simpkeasthat Says:

For the love of Christ, satan, buddah, Ala or whatever God you worship give the Americas quarterback bs a rest please Joe.

  109. Chris Says:

Carr had all day to throw? Carr doesn’t hold on to the ball. He catches it and throws on time and accurate. Winston isn’t a quick decision maker.

  110. Silent_Partner Says:

Winston doesn’t hold onto the ball or maybe some of you clowns forget what your line was before you started last year when you were hoping he didn’t get sacked 70 times. They both get it out quick, but Carr just has a line that his organization has spent major FA dollars and high draft picks on for 3 straight years. Bucs have Marpette, Smith who should be a RT, and the some dudes off the scrap heap starting everywhere else on their line. Not to mention Crabtree, Cooper, and Walford to throw to while your team has JAG Adam Humphries and unpolished Russell Shepherd and you’re saying bro, we should be getting it done bro, lol. But Buc fans are dumb, so I’m sure this escapes you. Maybe tell your dumb GM to stop drafting kickers who only made 50% of his 40+ yard FGs last eyar in college in the second round, lmao.

  111. Silent_Partner Says:

Raiders have litterally spent more draft picks on the line than probably anybody but the Cowboys, but Buc fans think they have the same team. Raiders just are a horribly coached team. You should recognize that because that’s your bad HC’s old boss. Where do you think he learned it from, lmao.

  112. Big HogHaynes Says:

9 games to play with 6 games to play to show improvement over the last REGIME! CONTE (should be cut), The player that we gave up a pick to move up in the draft (should be cut), Talent people we need more talent.

Where did these so called fans come from?

Soooo let me see a struggling young team, short of a LOT of key positions. Played a team with 2 ELITE receivers, RB, and Carr had ALL DAY to throw. So let’s blame Jameis …WATCH THE GAME FOLKS…we are missing A LOT of effective pieces…

And we still kept it close, led or tied it. More pieces, more wins!

That’s right trade your 22 year old QB, so he can come back and put a Penn on you!

Well said Ana says, to many people shift what they feel from week to week. We were just like the team that got past us today and they are clicking on all cylinders now. D. Carr first 2.5 years people were saying that his older brother David Carr would do better, then they started filling there holes and they should make the playoffs and we still can to, our schedule is easier. A lot of teams that make Wild Card births get rolling in November not at the beginning of the year EXAMPLE “FALCONS LAST YEAR” Support your team and players or Shut your pie holes. We haven’t been at .500 in the beginning of the season in a very long time with the schedule we had, sure we have the rams a win that we should not have. By midseason hopefully our Defense will be playing fast and healthy. Don’t forget how many offensive and defensive players that have been out for a month. We are 2-0 in the division and 3-4 and everyone is calling for J.W’s head. Be a fan or jump on the bandwagon negative Nancy’s…. Seriously like grade school.

  116. LakeLandBuc Says:

We SUCK as a team, accept it BUC fans. We are TERRIBLE, awful, pathetic, we are TRASH.

  117. Ind.Bucforlife77 Says:

To chipbuc, nole4jabooandbucs and Silent partner: all of you guys make excellent points. The bottom line is I don’t care what QB it is, he is only as good as the talent around him. If we can get a solid Pass catching TE in free agency like a Marteless Bennett and don’t be surprised if we trade with New England for him. We are 3-4 in the beginning of the season with a new defensive scheme and I see it improved from the first 3 weeks. J. W. Has Mike Evans right now and the only way we can get true pressure is by blitzing our Backers. Spence is going to be a beast.

  118. Ind.Bucforlife77 Says:

To Chris says: get off the buc’s you baby and get s D.Carr jersey
To Lakeland: we are not close to being a Super Bowl team yet, however we are constantly making progress. We are 2-0 in our division and 3-4 with the thoughest beginning schedule and still should have beat the rams and had s great opportunity to beat a legitimate team. J. Delirious has done some good stuff outside of the Jags, but while we are talking about the jags when our staff worked under Delrio, I believe he lead that ship to the playoffs. Believe me I want out of the cellar to, but I’m not going to put the blame on Winston. There is no comparison to what J.W brings over Mariota who has multiple backs, receivers and when he tries to scramble and his 4.5 speed he gets crushed and hurt and fumbles. The Titans have a pretty good Dfence. Stop the blame game, football is all about trusting the man next to you and we are coming out. Oakland is at least 1-2 years ahead of us, so grow the puck up. If you can’t deal, there are 31 others teams out there to hate on

  119. Ind.Bucforlife77 Says:

By the way Chris Says: did you just start watching football you troll. D. Carr is balling now, but was terrible his first 3 years or giving you the Benicort of the doubt it might have been towards the Middle of year 3

What size jersey do you wear? I will send you a link to a D. Carr jersey hater troll

  120. Silent_Partner Says:

Carr was good the first part of last year before players around him got hurt, namely his center and Cooper. He was horrible after the halfway point of the year last year and lost a lot of questionable games like to Detroit and Chicago last year directly because he threw picks down the stretch. Raiders however have kept building around him. They drafted Cooper for him. They brought Crabtree in in FA. They drafted Walford from Miami for him. They have drafted or spent big in FA the last 3 years on their offensive line. Only Dallas has invested more in their line than them. But yep, the Bucs have done the same drafting kickers in round 2, lol. Bucs fans funny. It’s like Luck in Indy. Get your franchise QB some help because they can lead you where you want to go but can’t do it alone. Otherwise, you’re going to end up like them, and Winston will just go off like Doug Williams, Steve Young, and Trent Dilfer and win SB somewhere else. I’m sorry I included Dilfer, but he did win one, lol.

  121. Silent_Partner Says:

Before last year, Buc fans were here saying I hope Jameis doesn’t die behind our line, and now they suddently think after losing Mankins and not drafting or adding anyone else to help the same players they started last year with that Jameis should be comfortable back there. This despite you being able to see every week him getting blasted right after taking every snap, yet he still stands tall in the pocket and doesn’t have happy feet like Blaine Gabbert or something. Stares down the barrel and just tries to get it out quicker to compensate, but Buc fans I guess are blind to this, lol. They think he’s just inaccurate because he’s trying to hurry throws up to his practice squad receivers outside of Evans before somebody sacks him for a 10-yard loss. Also for the person saying Murphy is coming back, this is how bad your roster is. He and Brandon Myers who is also on your team were scrubs on those Raider teams that used to go 5-11 every year, and that was years ago. Yet they’re 2 of your top 53 guys in 2016, lol. That’s what your GM has given Jameis to work with, that level of player, and Buc fans are like, bro, he’s not hitting 80% of his passes, bro. Too funny.

  122. Mike Seven Says:

I read these replies , a lot of Bucs fans are starting to get it , there a few that still like #3 , Now here we go again start thinking about playing for best draft pick again. Keep in mind the cap and the huge checks given to #3, This is a good year to let the kicker get comfortable, kicker has talent just first year jitters.
Bucs have tough next games and with a bust at QB they hope ” maybe not” to win at least 1-2 more games this year. Lovie screwed this team for years, the sooner you undo his work the faster the Bucs can rewrite there future Dirk is a good coach the damage of picking #3 is done. They going to let #3 finish season to get higher draft pick in next draft . Dirk knows he has bust just look how he runs ball with a no trust in QB.
