Inside The Broncos’ Locker Room

October 1st, 2016

talib3Born from years of consistent losing, a hot topic among Bucs fans is great NFL teams getting significant contributions from ex-Buccaneers.

Just mention the name “LeGarrette Blount” in a crowd of Bucs fans and you’ll be sure to hear raised voices.

Another guy on that list is helmet-wielding, cabbie-slugging, Adderrall-popping, coach-cussing, referee-charging, pistol-friendly, granny-hassling Aqib Talib, who has been playing like a Hall of Famer for the past few years. The Broncos face the Bucs in Tampa tomorrow and America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, has his orders to be aware of Talib.

Another guy with a growing role on the Broncos is Dekoda Watson, a seventh-round pick of Tampa Bay in 2010.

The Denver Post did a somewhat intersting Q & A with Wastson this week, which was interrupted by Talib because, per reporter Nick Groke, Talib went on an unprintable rampage about locker cleanliness directed at second-year lineabacker Shane Rey.

Talib blasted Rey about his loss of discipline after three sacks last Sunday against the Bengals. Joe read that thinking, ‘Aqib Talib? Team leader on the Super Bowl champs?’

No, Joe doesn’t believe the Bucs should have held on to serial troublemaker Talib. He didn’t care enough about his Tampa Bay teammates.

Winning, though, is the only way to cure the chronic disease of Bucs fans pining for lost players. Sunday would be an extra good time to start.

If it tells you anything I picked up Trevor Semian off waivers and am starting him in my Money league on Sunday. Smh

  2. Defense Rules Says:

Dekoda Watson? Oh man, another ex-Buc that’s making it with a good team. Bucs have gotten rid of so much talent over these past 5-7 years that they could almost stock an entire NFL team. Our revolving coaching (and GM) doors have killed us in terms of player retention and player development. And in far too many cases, in player selection also … both in the draft and in free agency. The only thing that’s remained constant in that time-span is the ownership. Yup, Bucs stop there.

  3. Mike Johnson Says:

Denver concentrates on Defense. They got a 6th rder starting at QB playing lights out. We on the other hand concentrated on Offense the last 2 or 3 yrs. We got a world renouned 1st rd QB who scores TD’s but has twice as many turnovers. Denver won a superbowl with an outstanding Defense. We came in last place with no Defense. Get where I’m going with this?
    DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!

  4. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    I hope ME13 & Jameis eat Talib up Sunday…..

  5. Buc1987 Says:

Mike Johnson just informed us Buc fans that defense wins championships.

Something none of us know anything about is defense…. ya see.

Thanks Mike Johnson for that announcement.

    Go Bucs!!!

  6. Buc1987 Says:

This team is going to win when the defense becomes even below average and the T.O.’s are limited on the O side of the ball.

  7. Buc1987 Says:

    T.O.’s = turnovers

  8. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

I applauded when Talib was accused of slapping that Cab Driver up side the head.
I flew back to Tampa from Seattle, and hailed a Cab at the airport. I was only going 4 miles, and the Cab Driver got so rude, I almost kicked his ass.
He started getting very ugly and vulgar, in front of my girl. He was complaining he waited nearly an hour in line at the airport for some Losers like us who are only going 4 miles away!

  9. NCBuc Says:

Well tell your QB to stop turning the ball over 87

  10. Buccaneers Says:

Our defense is just flat out soft. Trevor Simeon is getting a reputation for being a generic clock management quarterback. Broncos offense as a clock management Offense nothing flashy. Now you watch them roll into Tampa and put up 35 on our soft ass defense. I really wish my prediction would be more home team friendly but itsThe only realistic conclusion one could come to.

  11. Buccaneers Says:

The truly sad thing is that when you get past how soft our defense plays we still have dozens of problems. Winston with the turnovers, our coach making mistakes on the sideline, A number two wide receiver who is playing like he is in sand, A tight end that had to be fired and a replacement who can’t get down the seam, a kicker who is incapable of scoring………..This team just seems hopeless to me. They have so many ways to lose games and will showcase them to us fans this season.

It’s been well over a decade of losing and we still must wait for a professional and capable team. And we have not just been following a losing team for this many years. We have been following a team that doesn’t even have a chance to win games. The Buccaneers have been that bad, so bad that there isn’t even a hope of winning games”………………over a decade and still counting, they almost owe us fans an apology at this point. What a freaking embarrassment!!! Bite me Bucs

  12. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Trevor Semen threw for 4 touchdowns last week vs the Bengals. He was a highly rated QB out of Northwestern who was hurt, so he fell way down in the NFL Draft.
He lit up the Bengals at home, God can only imagine what he will do to us with no pass rush.

To beat Denver, we must keep their offense off the field, and that means we must run the ball. If we can’t run the ball tomorrow, it may be a long day for us.

  13. BucTrooper Says:

Watson was Dominik’s best pick. A late round pick who became a starter

  14. Stpetebucsfan Says:

I’m still amazed that so many here can see so much from so little. People calling our D soft…our QB innaccurate…our coaches incompetent.

We have played 3 games…we coulda/shoulda been 2-1 we ARE 1-2 with a win over a division rival on the road.

For those whose math skills are challenged…we have played 18.75% of our season…less than 1/5th…not only am I not ready to make a pronouncement on this young team…other than they are experiencing expected growing pains…you’ll have to forgive me if I have difficulty throwing in the towel three games into the season.

IF we should win tomorrow I do not wish to see people hurting themselves jumping back on the bandwagon. If we win tomorrow we’ll be 2-2…that’s considered average, mediocre…whatever it’s not that good. And so at 2-2 will we pronounce the Bucs as a mediocre team with soft…incompetent yadda yadda yadda?

“Well tell your QB to stop turning the ball over 87”

Yes let’s get rid of him seeing how he’s why they’re losing….

  16. D-money Says:

It’s easy to appear to be a leader on a winning team. The Broncos were a good team with strong leaders before Talib got there. If they weren’t winning so much over the last few years he’d have been run out of there just like he was here.

If they’d have lost the Super Bowl because of his antics would he even be on the team right now?

The only thing he was a leader of when he was here was the police blotter.

I liked Lagarrette Blount but I’m not crying over losing him. So he went to New England and played well? Who hasn’t? He got kicked off of the steelers after quiting in the middle of a game.

Dakoda Watson is a solid player but just because an average player goes to a great defense like the Broncos and excels doesn’t mean the Bucs made a mistake by letting him go. Watson isn’t the reason the Broncos are good. He is excelling because of the defensive unit he’s playing with. The Broncos could plug any number of players into positions and still be good.
