“One Of The Greatest Competitors I’ve Ever Seen”

Jameis has a big fan

Jameis has a big fan

Heavy praise thrown at America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston, from a guy trying to break him in half yesterday.

The Rams’ beast of a defensive end, Robert Quinn, the two-time Pro Bowler and the No. 14 overall pick in 2011, hopped on SiriusXM NFL Radio last night after the Rams stunned the Bucs with a 37-32 victory.

Quinn, with lots of admiration and love in his voice, called Jameis “one of the most competitive guys I’ve ever seen.”

Yes, Jameis’ made too many mental errors on the Bucs’ final drive when the team needed him most following a one-hour break to prepare and recharge, but nobody can question the fight in that guy.

Just watch the video here of Jameis trying to catch Rams defensive lineman Ethan Westbrook on his 77-yard rumble for a touchdown after Jameis was strip-sacked by Quinn. Jameis is drilled to the ground after the strip, yet he’s the one Buccaneer busting tail and leading the charge closest to Westbrook and outrunning teammates.

Interesting, Quinn also said the long lightning delay before the Bucs’ final drive was a welcome break from the heat for the Rams’ defense. They were all rested up and ready.

So much for the home field advantage.

We also had momentum before the delay.

  2. Kevin Says:

Sooooo, can we start wiyh the fire Mike Smith articles yet. Two games the rams dont score a td and we gave them what…..4???? With Case Keenum.

How many tds given up by our defense this year already have been from busted coverage in the tampa two? They look losy out there. Td bomb verner expected saftey help.

I realize yhere is more than one problem on this team, but that is by far my biggest problem.

Jameis is the man. He looked great yesterday and bounced back nice after a horrible week. Evans Humph they all looked good, but mike smith and roberto are making it hard for me to be optomistic going into the next week

I hope we sign JPP next year AND draft a DE or DT in the first round.

We are still not deep enough at DE.

We started Lambert, and undrafted DE from Auburn. I mean come on?

An undrafted DE starting at DE?

We are still thin at DE.

    We have WASTED GMC’s career!!!!

If only Brian Price hadn’t had that freak injury. He would’ve been great.

Or if we hadn’t drafted TWO guys with GIMPS, Adrian Claiborne and Bowers.

God, the mistakes we’ve made over the years have RUINED GMC’s career!!

I don’t know if anyone noticed but for some reason Chris conte was shadowing tavon Austin. I know conte is a decent safety, but he CANNOT keep up with Austin. This was quite a mind boggling thing to witness yesterday as we all as Bucs fans are being asked YET AGAIN, to be patient. Screw that. I wanna win. I’m tired of weak azz QBs like Case Keemun coming into rayjay and laying TDs on is like he’s Peyton manning. We’ve dealing with this BS for far too long and quite frankly it’s tiring knowing in the back of my mind that consistency in failing is the Tampa bay Buccaneers only motto.

  5. Shane Says:

We were short handed so much so that we shouldn’t have been in the game

We are still ok in the division thanks to the Carolina loss

    OL almost got Jameis killed

    Is VJax on this team?

    Agauyo f’ed up

    Defense still sucks especially secondary

  6. Miko Says:

Bucs have safety issues, no doubt about it. They blew this game with the clock management though. How do people see anything in Charles ‘dancing poodle’ Sims. The school I grew up in about running backs is you don’t make a whole pile of shifty moves going into the line of scrimmage. Go forward, don’t wait to get tackled. He’s horrible running. I don’t get it….

  7. Chris Says:

Does Noah( Simeon Rice 2) even play for this team? I mean, I’ve never have heard so much hype for a guy who has barely played the first three games. You mean to tell me an undrafted fa from Auburn gives you a better chance than him? Sounds like we’re too busy trying to be geniuses on the diamonds in the rough players playing instead of the talented ones. Simeon Rice was weak in the run game too, but his ass was never benched for an undrafted fa from Tuskeegee State. Rediculous , Jonathan Banks isn’t better than these turds playing CB or safety? This orginization just try’s too hard to be the smartest guys in the league. The only worse ran orginization is the Browns.

  8. Tampa Tony Says:

When you continually miss open receivers you gotta make up for it with hustle

  9. Miko Says:

Jameis is a competitor yes but that slow windup, baseball delivery is evident and he didn’t compete on that last play. Like a deer in headlights. Never gave the team a chance to win. Brutal

  10. iamkingsu Says:

Let Robinson play over Grimes and Verner. Verner as gotten torched ever since he got here looking for help inside or not you let Brian quick beat you by 5 yards??

  11. Spacebuc Says:

Been reading posts here at JBf all morning.
For me, as painful as these games have been, I think there is a silver lining.
    These are necessary growing pains,y’all.
JW is learning from every mistake.
Yes, he is still a work in progress
Yes, he is going to get schooled.
    R-E-L-A-X
The real issue is the defense
    WORST in the league.
But, guess what? Aints beat the dirty birds tonight, division is all tied.
Move on, don’t be so negative, or just jump ship.
    GO BUCS!

  12. mike n Says:

That’s great that hes competitive, but you gotta hit wide open recievers. His pick to sims was pretty bad, he had his mind set to throw it there before the snap

  13. Silent_Partner Says:

In that league, real recognizes real. Just a matter of will Tampa squander having him by not building around him correctly. Just look up to Indy in what they’ve done to Andrew Luck.

  14. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Chris well said, licht is more buffoon than genious, his FA signings have failed miserably and he is batting 0% on the 2nd round which is where you build a team

  15. old man says Says:

Jamies is not the answer and Mike Smith is not the answer. A lot of changes to make

  16. Dr. Lob Says:

Jameis has most of all the traits you want in a franchise quarterback except accuracy.

  17. BigPoppaBuc Says:

I know it’s the last thing Bucs fans want to hear, but we just have to be patient. This kid is legit. He will get better. He will change the culture within this franchise. Free agents from other bad teams will want to play with this guy. Licht will draft him more weapons and continue to build a great O-line. Everyone is ready to give up on him because he didn’t successfully complete what was probably the best game of his career (405 yards 3TD). Patience, Buc fans. It’s week three. We’re probably not going to the playoffs. But we’ve got thirteen more weeks for Winston to get better and for the roster to show it’s real strengths (O-line, LB, RB) and weaknesses (safeties, WR, DL). Yesterday sucked and felt like the past ten years, but it will get better.

  18. Mike Johnson Says:

Miko says Bucs got safety issues? Bus got issues period!! Again Joe writes about all the praises and adulation for Jameis Winston. Did he win? Nope..he’s lost 2 out of 3 games. yep..praising the saviors. I guess Ole jameis and coach Koetter will be appearing on the next..Joel Olsteen episode aye? Praise’em/ Praise them losses. praise that highly touted defense of the Bucs. You can leave your tides..at the door! God bless the SOB’s. (same ole Bucs)

  19. BoJim Says:

Hope Jameis doesn’t lose that spirit. Pleasssssssssssse!!

  20. Strider ....Sec 147 Says:

Loook at cam newton last years mvp has his team 1-2 we are 1-2 we are 1-0 in the division huge game tonight. We need to find a way to steal one of these next 2 games I hope it’s against Carolina !

  21. Tampa Tony Says:

@Strider, Cam has lost to two teams who are undefeated the Bucs lost to a Cardinal team who got smoked by the Bills and a team until yesterday hadn’t scored an offensive td all year!!!

This team is hot garbage and it starts with #3
