Bucs? Losers!

September 25th, 2016
Leads a gang of losers.

Leads a gang of losers.

It’s time to lay the cards on the table. Time to quit whitewashing what we all can see. Time to quit the con job.

As Bill Parcells famously said, “You are what your record says you are.”

In the last 35 games, the Bucs are 9-26. They have won but 17 games at the Den of Depression since Chucky was fired, by far the worst home mark in the NFL.

The Bucs, good friends and dear readers, are losers. Period.

Guys with the heart and desire of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, and middle linebacker Kwon Alexander, to name a couple, cannot change a team of 53. Two guys and maybe a handful of others won’t get the job done.

And that losing culture is in danger of infecting both Jameis and Alexander, and the handful of other players who really do give a damn about winning.

This team is a loser. To let a ghastly offense like the Rams run up 31 points of offense at home is a slap in the face to Team Glazer, Jason Licht, Mike Smith and Dirk Koetter.

The Bucs are the personification of losing. They have become the Washington Generals of the NFL. And in Joe’s eyes, the locker room needs to be deloused of a helluva lot more than just the MRSA. The culture of this locker room is a bigger problem than the Zika virus.

Twice in his very short NFL career, Jameis has mentioned on the record that too many teammates don’t give a s(p)it about losing. Twice! Then Koetter put the icing on the cake and admitted to all this evening that he is in charge of a bunch of losers.

“Our culture is not where it needs to be,” Koetter said. “And that starts with me, I’m the head of that. So I’m putting that squarely on my shoulders.

“There’s something about our culture. I wish I could grab it. I’ve been on teams that had it. … But when you don’t have it, it’s hard to figure out what it is. There’s something in our culture. It’s my job to fix it, along with the coaches.”

With the possible exception of Gerald McCoy and Lavonte David, anyone on the roster prior to 2014 needs to be unloaded. Joe would be shocked if Vincent Jackson, pillar of the local community, returns for 2017.

Traded, cut, you name it.

Joe believes this process may already have begun with tweety tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins being booted. His departure was just hastened by his hassle with the cops Friday morning and wanting to take a “huge s(p)it,” never mind that he is the walking embodiment of a huge s(p)it.

This is not going to be a quick rebuild. If the roster needs to be gutted, then it will take a while.

But let us be honest here, the Bucs are not winning with this lot. Better to gut the team and get some character people in the building rather than continue to lose with talented players who only give a damn about their checks from Team Glazer clearing.

We play like a PAC-12 team. When will we fix the defense? Case Keenum played today like he did at Houston.

  2. lightningbuc Says:

Jason Licht, despite some decent draft picks, has assembled a crappy defense and traded away an opportunity to get a decent WR or safety to draft a kicker who probably would have been there in the fourth round. Licht sucks. Simple as that.

  3. Pit Says:

Maybe Warhop has the solution he fixed the offensive line. And like it or not GMC has to go.

  4. Blake_BucsFan Says:

As much as it pains me to say it, we still freaking suck. I love this team more than most things in my life, but they hurt me tonight. We Gave this game to rams on a silver platter. Had Every Opportunity to win, but once a game clutched Defeat from the Jaws of Victory. That fumble recovery for the rams had to be the sorriest excuse for football i’ve seen in the last decade. PLAY TO THE DAMN WHISTLE! YOU LEARN THAT IN PEEWEE! I’ve got so many friends that are Patriots Fans, and they could care less when they Lose, because their mindset is “meh, can’t win ’em all.” And when it comes to the bucs, its just, Can’t win ’em. Sorry ass bucs man, you gotta love ’em.

  5. Bucs4821 Says:

This is the Curse of Gruden just like the Doug Williams Curse. Besides the 2010 10-6 season, this is 1983-1996 all over again.

  6. Buc1987 Says:

    Panthers are 1-2.

  7. Architek Says:

    Joe-
Did you see Vincent Jackson on the television feed sitting alone away from the rest of the WR core? After a big play TD by Evans???

No one can convince me there is something going on with those guys.

  8. This Guy Right Here Says:

    the D gave up 30 points…

They showed up half assed, they played half assed…

  9. Chucklehead Says:

Hey coach. The culture of this team is crappy defense. Plain and simple. Even with the poor efforts by our second round kicker. A heel like Keenum should have never been able to out score anybody. Especially after what we saw of them the first 2 games.

Are you telling me that it all just came together today for the Rams? In a collective effort, they all figured out how to play offense?

    Bullspit.

They were just lucky enough to play the softest and most generous defense in the NFL today.

  10. Tampa Tony Says:

Another 2-3 coaches and another 5-6 years and maybe this team will be competitive

  11. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Gotta fix that DAMN SORRY AZZ SECONDARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. BucfaninMi Says:

Change the name to the Tampa Bay Slumpbusters!

  13. Bculaw Says:

Joe, there was a question asked during Jameis’ press conference about an altercation on the sideline between him and VJax. I know Jameis tried to stifle the story, but can you shed any light?

  14. I know why Says:

Yeah Joe, besides LVD and McCoy lets cut WR’s Shepard and Jackson, TE Stocker, OLINE – Dotson – QB Glennon, RB Doug Martin, DL – Spence, Gholston, DB – Banks, McDougal and Tandy.

Are you kidding Joe? The Draft class from 2014 was 2-14 – the class from 2015 was 6-10 that’s all the fault of the guys listed above. Joe…I know you are mad, we all are but put down the computer and back away from the table tonight

  15. Bucsfan951 Says:

Glazer jr’s suck at ownership!!! They are the common dominator!!!!!! Get rid of them

  16. R.O Says:

The sky is falling.. the sky is falling..

  17. That Guy Says:

I thought the Joes told me just last week this team was a playoff team.

    PLAYOFFS?!?!

  18. Buc1987 Says:

    R.O.

LOL not hardly for me. I’m a Bucs fan.

    Bright future ahead actually.

  19. Jim Says:

Is Jameis Winston a “character” person as described in this post? It’s not just the other players who have been knocking down the Kool-Aide. It’s the entire community: coaches, commentators, fans, owners…

  20. Chris Says:

It’s what I’ve been yelling on here all day and night. I believe no ones safe other than Winston, Kwon, Humphries , Evans and that’s about it . LVD has helped contribute to the losing, since his boneheaded play in NY, Jackson, loser, the D Line, blow the whole damn thing up. Bring in some guys that want to win. That needs to happen. These guys who’ve been here in previous regimes bring this loser mentality to the locker room. The whole, Bonzai, St Pete mentality of, it’s ok, we’ll get em next time has to end.

  21. Joe Says:

Did you see Vincent Jackson on the television feed sitting alone away from the rest of the WR core?

    No.

  22. Dan Foster Says:

You drafted a kicker in the second round that sucks smh

  23. RobInTampa Says:

Hurts watching Wentz, Garroppolo (and Brissett), Prescott, and other rookie QBs make all of the throws. Not sold on Jameis as a franchise QB. Been a Bucs fan for a long time, but I have that 1990 feeling again. I gave up watching early and was considering going to a game this year. Nope.. Won’t even watch. This is painful.

  24. wesley Says:

    I need a new team.

  25. Pelbuc Says:

This game is once again another reminder of the deeply embedded losers mentality. Can’t hold a 10 pt lead. Can’t make any clutch plays and always costly penalties. Bucball at its best. BTW, Litch and Mike Smith not the answer which means Koetter can’t succeed.

  26. Buccfan37 Says:

    Patience people. Frazzled or whatever.

  27. Ocala Says:

I don’t know how you can’t be sold on Jameis as a franchise QB
He almost won that game by himself

    The defense is awful
The safety play is atrocious and again we have no pass rush at all

  28. Tbbucs3 Says:

On the bright side, we don’t have any d-bags kneeling for the anthem.

  29. Wes Says:

How do you really feel Joe? lol

  30. grafikdetail Says:

Keenum only had a 190 yards passing and barely completed 50% of his passes… that’s not a back-breaking performance… the turnovers are what lost the game for the bucs!! should have not even been close… they should’ve won 36-23!!! can’t keep shooting yourself in the foot and expecting to win…

  31. Wes Says:

The reality is we are getting burned 3-4 times a game on big plays which are ruining entire games for us. We seemed to mostly be playing hard today but then unfortunate things strike us. We are very bad at the long ball and we need to fix that as soon as possible.

Other than that I did see some good passion from a lot of guys Evan’s, Winston, Humphries, Sims all played their arses off today.

On defense we need to stop giving up the big plays cause we are playing really great defense otherwise, and on offense we need to friggin’ finish with points and without an ugly fumble or missed kicks (C’mon man, really? 2 today?)

  32. Wes Says:

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. The O-line took a pounding today too. Dang those penalties were hurting us.

  33. sho nuff Says:

it was an absolutely beautiful day…do yourselves a solid and DVR this hot garbage…

  34. Another J Says:

    #21 Gave up 14 points.

  35. Another J Says:

Are we leading the NFL in missed tackles yet?

  36. Joseph Mamma Says:

Gut the team all you want. Culture of losing will remain because of the idiots running the show, and I don’t mean whoever it is is coaching or managing the team at the moment.

  37. Mike Johnson Says:

Most of you, The tampa media, and yes you to Joe, screamed Bring me the head of Lovie Smith last year. You got your head served on a silver platter.
Promote Koetter, promote Koetter, he’s the savior. he will take us to the promised land. He was promoted. And now its time for Mr. Koetter to..Face the Music. Just like Lovie Dubbie did. No breaks for you Koetter. The loss is on YOU. You are the Capt of the ship sir. Now say what you all say, I will review my A.. Whippin and make the necessary corrections. Long season Buc fans. Long season. But Heyyy coach Koetter will save us..right?

  38. Stpetebucsfan Says:

We have no kicker at the moment…we have no pass rush.

#3 will be fine…the OL is stout…Sims is a solid RB…Rogers not bad but no Martin who will be back after the bye.

This team is snakebit right now….two weeks in a row where balls bounce around for a pick six and set up another TD…EVERY fumble is lost…including a last second swat of the ball that resulted in another cheap six points.

Even God is against this team right now…Bucs get momentum and whao a freaking lightning storm?

Y’all can give up…not me…I want to see what we look like after the bye.

If we suck the final 11 games then I pay attention to posters here who have said..
    #3 sucks he’s not a franchise QB.
Get rid of GMC and LVD…losers from a losing team
    Fire Smitty and Koetter
    Fire Licht
Don’t let me leave anything out.

I wonder if the fans in Carolina are calling for Cam to get the axe…he’s no franchise QB…and what about the Panther D…Sam Bradford sliced and diced them today…so what…the Carolina D is now soft right?

It’s freaking 3 games into the season with a team loaded with rookies, 2nd year players and an entirely new defensive scheme. But don’t give it any time.

Fire all of them right now!!!

  39. Ndog Says:

Actually I don’t want anyone fired St pete cause I done fing caring about this sorryy team full of losers. Mistake after mistake after mistake after mistake and it has little to do with coaching at some point these morons need to catch the ball, block, make kicks, hit open receivers, not blow their assignments, tackle, not jump offsides, and oh YEAH HIT A WIDE OPEN RECEIVER IN THE ENDZONE TO WIN THE GAME. I wanted Jameis like no other but am very disappointed in him and am starting to question the pick as great players don’t miss throws like that one to Vjax.

  40. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Amen StPete….have you guys read the Carolina boards lately????

Those of you that are already down in week 3??? Come on!! Many times are 1-2 right now!! Freaking Carolina and Arizona BOTH are 1-2!!

  41. satchseven Says:

On the bright side, we don’t have any d-bags kneeling for the anthem.

screw that song now that i know about slave owner francis scott key I will never sing that crap again

  42. LifeOfABucFan Says:

Teams not times..sorry..it’s the passion in me typing..

  43. Eric Says:

Doesn’t appear it is the system as we stink on defense no matter what.

Another rebuild is more than I can bare.

  44. Ana Says:

Never singing national anthem again😂 Slave owner before emancipation proclamation😂😂 Come on folks, this is a FOOTBALL comentary site😡 Want to comenent on politics, go to a POLITICAL comentary site!

  45. LakeLandBuc Says:

The Bucs are, WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE. They SUCK like a QT coffee cup.

  46. rrsrq Says:

You can blame the players of the past, but I know they would only be rookies this year, but JL blew it with the 2nd round pick when we had other needs. Connor Barth was solid, we needed speed at receiver and safety, we do not know what Ryan Smith can do, but I do believe he could make up for the same mistakes our safeties are doing, because he has speed. Watch NFL highlights, speed at the wideout position, doesn’t get caught.

  47. BugHogHaynes Says:

Licth got his POWER, Coach K got his promotion, coach My Scheme and his Friends & Family Staff was shown the door, The so called incompetent one has been exercised to the corn fields of Illinois, I told you people this team was a train wreak mentally from the experiment of Coach Toes On The Line! I can’t make you believe me, but do they keep TALKIN about the weak mentality of this team, we need more talent and we need to stop changing Coaching Staffs every 2 years, Coach K get a grip on the make up of your team, and use your POWER to fight against drafting stupidity! Trying to look like a GM GURU, Licth you’ve made yourself look like a BAFOON! 13 games to play with 8 games to win!!
