Jameis Gets Feisty

Gets testy defending teammate.

The flag for America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, was flying at half-staff after the game. The Franchise was really glum.

That was, until Jameis was asked about the play of Donovan Smith.

Joe couldn’t quite hear the question but Jameis’ reaction was quick and swift. He immediately asked the reporter, “How many times did Robert Quinn get to me? Once!” And Jameis gave the reporter his famous eyes-wide-open glare.

Whoa! That was the first time Joe has ever seen Jameis get peeved at a reporter. Now once Joe had an awkwardly-worded question to Jameis about the locker room still being infested with a losing mentality, and if he was lobbying to rid the roster of certain players, Jameis reacted quickly, but not in anger.

The question about Smith sure got Jameis worked up and in a split second.

To be fair, Jameis said the reason the Bucs lost was “quarterback play,” his own, to be specific. Jameis said he blew chances to get the Bucs in the end zone after the lightning delay because he had Vincent Jackson “wide open” at the goal line.

Vincent Jackson looks like he doesn’t want to be within 100 miles of a football field.

  2. Blake_BucsFan Says:

Jameis got pulled down on the 5, from behind, IF HE JUST FREAKING RAN THE GOD DAMN BALL WE WOULDVE WON THE DAMN GAME! GOD DAMMIT THIS LOSS IS BOGUS!

  3. Ben the GA Buc Says:

We wouldn’t have had a chance in this game if it wasn’t for Jameis.

Glad to see him lash out a little. Sometimes media does ask stupid questions.

  4. Bculaw Says:

Jameis was sticking up for his teammate (D. Smith). He was emphasizing that the o-line, including Smith, had a great game.

Lot of pitchforks out tonight for one of the best young players in the game.

  5. Rojas Says:

I agree, he missed Jackson wide open.. but where was Jackson the rest of the game ? He even dropped a pass. I think it’s time to see what we have in Butler from the PS

  6. TheBucsAnthem Says:

VJAX is done! I didn’t even know he was playing in the game until the 4th quarter!

    Here’s the sad part…

The Bucs are no better than the pathetic Browns!!!

You ARE what your RECORD says you ARE!!!!! We are a one win team

  7. Buccfan37 Says:

Season seems familiar, wouldn’t want to give anybody a heart attack.

  8. ARGH_M8E Says:

Can someone name the last game that was actually enjoyable to watch… honestly, even our victories are paddle worthy.

  9. Chris Says:

It hit Jackson in the hands. Vince Jackson is back to the selfish prick he was in San Diego. Oh wasn’t Noah Spence suppose to make us forget Simeon Rice. He couldn’t carry Rices jock

  10. Buc1987 Says:

    TheBucsAnthem…So are the Panthers.

  11. LargoBuc Says:

Same old story. We have the pieces yet they are not coming together. That’s on coaching. To be fair though, we don’t have quite the pieces I thought we did.

  12. Buc1987 Says:

    Largo…we’re 7-9 or 8-8 on a bounce.

  13. The Dom is gone... Licht??? Says:

Kicker sucks! Would’ve been playing for a field goal not a TD if our kicker wasn’t a wasted draft pick! Defense sucks ! Lovies fault remember

  14. That Guy Says:

Bucs probably would’ve won if it hadn’t been for their idiot kicker.

Or their idiot coach not wanting to use a timeout.

  15. Cash Money Says:

I would be just as pissed after we blew this one. Unbelievable clock management, there’s no excuse for Koetter leaving a timeout on the board when the game is over. We could’ve easily had one or two more shots at the end zone if he used it earlier.

  16. celly Says:

To be fair to Jackson, it didn’t seem like Jameis looked his way too often in the passing game today.

That could be due to a multitude of reasons, but you can’t blame him for not showing up if he doesn’t have the ball thrown to him (beside the couple times towards the end of the 4th)

  17. Buc1987 Says:

Chris…give Spence sometime time now…yikes a little harsh on the rookie.

  18. That Guy Says:

I heard Koetter on the radio after the game saying he didn’t use a timeout because that’s part of his aggressiveness. Does that statement even make any kind of sense to anyone? There’s a reason why he’s never been a pro head coach before and why he had a losing record as a college head coach.

  19. Pit Says:

Glazers please sell this team so they can go somewhere else and we can make peace with it. I can’t see my self suffering like the Browns fans do.

And nice with the first round pick select another useless QB.

  20. Not there yet Says:

Very few complained about vjack before the season started he wasn’t the blame for a losing record last season either because he wasn’t playing. This lose isn’t even on the kicker. This is on Jason licht who’s mark Dominick 2.0. When you trade up in the second round for a special teams player then you’re announcing to the NFL this is a playoff roster. There’s always been injuries on the o line and d line. Licht said we don’t need receiver help or line help or a running back. No we have a kicker who has to learn to kick field goals at this level. I could see patriots or the vikings doing it after the way their season ended but this is why it was the worst pick in the history of the draft because of all the other needs. Winston is still a kid and is not ready for the playoffs which means neither are these men who anointed him leader

  21. Mtbucsfan Says:

After all the mistakes made the fact we were still in it says something. It’s early yet and Winston is still growing! We will bounce back. Crap happens it’s in the past pick your heads up and move on next team up! The division is wide open! And I still don’t want the game to be put in anyone other than Winston.

  22. This Guy Right Here Says:

Donovan Smith channeled his inner Kenyatta Walker today…

    Dude got got..

    gotdamn Aguayo!

  23. Buc1987 Says:

All I know is this team is going to be just fine.

Lot’s of young talent in key areas and they’re hungry.

Just shake some of the oldies along the way, a certain kicker and we’ll be cherry.

  24. Tampa Tony Says:

Jameis was inaccurate when he had to have completions. This loss is on him and the d

  25. Buc1987 Says:

    This Guy …..Aguayo.

    Sigh.

  26. Mtbucsfan Says:

    *Winstons hands

  27. Pelbuc Says:

Jackson at this point is stealing a paycheck and a roster spot. So is Aguayo, Verner and a few others. This game will be one of several this year lost bc of Aguayo. JBF, you stated on occasion that Licht learned from Belicheck to cut your losses and move on from your mistakes. The problem with taking him in the 2 round is that Bucs are now stuck with him this year at least. You don’t have to be an incompetent GM to realize this team needs WRs, another LB and DBs and safeties. Mike Smith will probably not be here next year so the defense will once again be new. Great planning Licht! Also, why was Banks not playing? It’s not as if Bucs have shut down corners.

  28. Mark Says:

Jamis looks like josh on his best day. Prove me wrong!

  29. Buc2015 Says:

On the no-time-out call after Sims catch …. the only thing I can see is that you are trying to make sure you end the game on the drive, i.e. leave no time for the Rams. And with over 30 seconds left it’s also possible you’d have two more completions in-bounds (or a sack) and need the TOs. It was a questionable decision at the time but only became a terrible decision with the benefit of hindsight … the way he answered it, Koetter seemed to acknowledge he would have done it differently if he had it do over again.

  30. Mtbucsfan Says:

Difference is people want to play for Jameis! No one will be harder on him than himself. He will come out next week firing. Even with Von Miller coming after him. He’s has fire unlike anyone!

How about you prove yourself right? Normally people spouting off statements like this have to back it up somehow. Why should anyone do your work for you?

  32. Bucsfan951 Says:

Same old story with our bucs… They have the pieces but they aren’t falling into place… Week 3 and I’ve written off this season. Glad I got drunk and an L.A. Kings scrimmage game and not wasted time on this game. I did waste time last week at AZ. I’ll waste time in San Fran and also in SD for their games. It is a bucs life I guess 😉 I’m tired of losing all of the time 🙁

  33. Brent bull/buc Says:

Jw looked great. 405 yds 3 tds 1 pick and over 60% completion. With no running game. I miss running game we had last year.

  34. TouchDownTampBay Says:

The next two games won’t be close unfortunately. I thought they might be decent this year but it looks somewhere between last years team and the prior year. Looks like a 4-5 win season….again! This sucks! They cant seem to make any progress. Ever! And last Sunday morning I thought we might have that monumental moment of turning it all. around by beating a contender in AZ. Instead we got pounded and it doesn’t look like AZ is that good anyway. To realize in just one week that they still suck really sucks for us fans. The waiting continues and I’m starting to think we just might nethe Browns of the south for a very long time.

  35. Jimmy T Says:

Koetter not using the timeout after the Sims catch was horrible. We would have had 40 plus seconds and a timeout on the 15 yard line. It makes absolutely no sense. Could have run a screen to sims and been in the 5 yard line with 3 or 4 shots from there. Also u don’t trade back into the 2nd round for Aguayo. He is just a decent kicker that’s it. You need safety help , receiver help, defensive end help and u trade up for a kicker? That is why we are a laughingstock of the NFL. He single handidly list this game , do the math. The worst draft pick ever.

  36. Ana Says:

Here is some math for you. 32(offense)-37(defense)=Buc’s lose. I’ll even show my work. Offense scores 32 points (good), defense gives up 37 points(bad), Bucs lose, fans overreact, defense must improve.(quickly). QB takes blame ( admirable). Rinse, repeat😐

  37. LakeLandBuc Says:

Jason Licht draft picks STINKS, he stinks as a GM. What SANE GM will take a $12 million dollar cap hit for VJAX? And take a $6 million hit for Verner, trade a 3rd and 4th for a BUM kicker. Sign a $32 million free agent guard, who hasn’t dressed out yet. The Glazers should do us a favor and move these YUCS to St. Louis. Jason Licht, Dirk Koetter, Mike Smith won’t last no more than 2 seaso

  38. LakeLandBuc Says:

    2 seasons at the most

  39. BucsFan90 Says:

    LakeLandBuc
Jason Licht is a certified dumbass. He probably thought he was taking a page out of Bellichick’s book by drafting a kicker early. Someone should have reminded him Pats are a playoffs team with no glaring holes
