Distraction Talk Enrages Miko

Miko Grimes is not a distraction, says Bucs GM.
Joe has written about this nonsense before but it seems this subject must be revisited.
A player’s wife, short of having an affair with her significant other’s teammate, is not a distraction. Well, maybe Jeff Garcia’s wife was, but let’s not get distracted here.
Some, for whatever reason, are of the mind that outspoken and flamboyant Miko Grimes, wife of new Bucs cornerback Brent Grimes, will sabotage the team by speaking freely.
This question was posed to Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht today at the NFL Owners Meetings in Boca Raton. Licht, in so many words, as documented by Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune, scoffed at such lunacy.
The wife of new Bucs cornerback Brent Grimes has a reputation for being very active on social media, often voicing her strong opinions on her husband’s teammates and coaches during his stops in Atlanta and Miami.
“I think a bigger distraction is losing and not playing good defense,’’ Licht said on the opening day of the NFL owners meetings. “We met Miko and Brent and their family and enjoyed every moment of it. I’m very excited about all of them being in Tampa.’’
Thank you! Joe wrote about this when Brett Grimes was signed. Losing is the worst distraction of all. A player’s wife? C’mon.
Of course, being the social media savant she is, this subject quickly caught the eye of Miko and she went off on Twitter, so enraged she even cited her endowment in a beautiful series of blasts.

This distraction talk is utter nonsense. As Joe has written over the years, distractions are distractions if you let them be distractions.
And if a player’s wife’s social media activities wigs out the Bucs from doing their duties on the field as a whole, then this team has much, much, much bigger problems than any player’s wife on Twitter. Trust Joe on this.

Your are ight Joe if things are going good and we are winning then Miko will be our biggest fan. If they lose and stupid stuff starts happening. Then Miko will be the first person to criticize the crap going on. But she is not on the field and in the locker room. The only way it becomes a distractions is if the Media makes it into a distraction. Asking players stupid questions about what miko said, is not Miko’s fault. It is the Media’s fault. Thousands of fans talk crap about heir team or other teams. And no one cares. Just because it is Miko, people all of a sudden care.
And i do get it. She is close to the team, being a players wife. But she is still just a fan, with her own opinions. And if the team doesnt like her criticizing them, then they need to start winning and make that losing distraction go away.

Miko should not be a distraction. If I cash in a couple mill a year playing a game I couldn’t possibly care less what a teammates wife thinks.
That said, the Joes love Miko now, but wait for Jameis to have a bad game like the Panthers or Redskins games and Miko will trash America’s Quarterback like she did Ryan Tannehill.

Not sure what is in the article above as I couldn’t care less about what Miko thinks or says. I do want to say thanks though for some of the good articles you have been churning out lately. Hopefully these TMZ like Miko articles aren,t taking up too much of your time and costing us insightful articles about actual football.

Yeah, Miami has been sorry over the last few years because Miko has been a distraction! I promise you any good team would never have the wife of a player be a distraction. It’s just an excuse that losers make as to why they aren’t winning.

It is beyond a stretch to say Miko can have a direct influence on games, short of her giving up her three-hour pregame ritual with her husband.

Mrs Grimes does not distract us fans. WE..could care less. The problem was her distracting players who played with her husband by calling them and a few coaches out. That’s a distraction for the TEAM..not us. Which can be dangerous. She needs to be like all other nice little NFL wives…Keep her piehole closed when it comes to players/coaches deficiencies. But..she won’t.

Miko has her own social media communication outlet……I realize Joe writes what interests Joe….and JBF is essentially like print media (not limited by time)…..so, readers can simply ignore the articles if they don’t like.
Since she is simply a wife of a player and a fan like all of the rest of us, I don’t believe she should receive special attention.
That being said….I simply can’t wait to her what she says next!!!

As a Similac baby I could care less about a ‘rack’ or a loud mouth spouse that doesn’t understand her role or space. I am just happy about getting out of Montana for a two week vacay in Panama City catching Flounder and hopefully an Apex predator with a stripe down it. I can’t type the name of the fish or this post would be bozo’d. I am so Stoked to be going back to my home state for a two week vacation.

Beside, isn’t every fan who take to Twitter or other social networks a distraction in the same fashion? What or where is the difference between Miko and the average Joe Bucs Fan — no pun intended – who voices strong opinions on Twitter? Opinions often marred by ignorance and one too many vulgar insult, by the way. Just because Miko happens to be married to an NFL player now donning Tampa’s jersey, she shouldn’t enjoy and use social networks like the rest of us? In the end, nobody forces anybody to read what she says.
This is a non-issue.

What a person does to others they will eventually do to you. It’s human nature. It’s all rainbows and fairy dust between Joe and Miko right now because the relationship is new. Just wait awhile, maybe later in the season or perhaps next season, when Joe writes a post that somehow implies a criticism of Grimes’ play on the field. Maybe a loaf, maybe a dropped INT, perhaps a missed tackle, something along those lines. Then Joe becomes the enemy and Joe will understand what everyone was talking about. It’s coming, Joe. Just wait for it.

Grimes is timid around her from what I’ve seen. It’s clear she’s the man in that relationship.
My bro in law is a nasty-mouthed trucker. Whenever he visits, we avoid exposing our more classy friends to him (last time he told a “poo poo in” story very loudly…at the dinner table).

No more excuses for losing. We bring in winners because we are winners. Sounds to me like Miko doesn’t accept losing. Maybe some players should pay attention to Miko. I wonder what her thoughts are on dropped passes and stupid penalties? They are going to find out. I like it..
