Jameis Unleashed!

January 3rd, 2016
Reached his frustration level.

Reached his frustration level.

Whoa! The losing culture of the Bucs’ locker room has finally gotten to Jameis.

In his postgame presser, some 30 minutes after he cooled down from his live radio interview on the Buccaneers Radio Network, Jameis looked like and acted like he wanted to punch somebody, he was so angry at losing four games in a row.

Though Jameis spent much of the presser blaming his own play, he said when he and his teammates get on the same page with a chip on their shoulder and a will to win, “We will be hell” to play.

Then, when asked about Dirk Koetter, Jameis went off, saying there was no way that the Bucs would have won six games without the drive and fire of the coaching staff, including Lovie Smith, and that, “I guarantee that some of our coaches want it more than some of our players and that’s the bad part! That’s the bad part. Our coaches want it, I guarantee you!”

Jameis just went off. He finally reached the boiling point.

And if a Bucs fan doesn’t get fired up watching this video of his press conference, you are comatose from vodka.

Think he is talking about GMC?

  2. Ian_620WDAE Says:

The irony of seeing Josh Freeman play today reminded me why we are damn lucky to habe Jameis as our QB, that press conf just shows this kids drive and will to win and you better believe his comments about the whys and chips on the shoulder were squarely directed at the other ‘leaders’ on this team (spoiler alert one plays DT and wears number 93, the other is a WR that wears 13). Time to for the fromt office to get players in here that want to win, your QB is demanding it!

  3. BrianBucs Says:

Jameis will have to be a driving force to change the losing mentallity of the team, because it sure won’t be the head coach

  4. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

Go Bucs!!! Love the passion. Exactly what this team needs. So do most of you fans!

  5. BucSeason.section139 Says:

Heck yes he was talking about GMC..that guy is a waste of space..
I’m over his drama..and The other two morons like ASJ and Evans..
And if I see Jenkins and Major Wright in a bucs uniform then I’m canceling my season pass…

  6. Scot Brantley is God Says:

Then there’s the opinion of Steve White.

  7. I'm tired and 87 is right Says:

I think we should all look ourselves in the mirror and change this losing mentality. We need to suck up every little bit of this crap season and fuel it into our opponents. Instill fear into them. The Bucs have risen!!

  8. BucFan20 Says:

Get a head coach in here that demands it. Wants accountability.

  9. Joe Says:

Then there’s the opinion of Steve White.

And that would be… what exactly?

  10. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

should get winstons running mate in at TE oleary let go ASJ and find another WR for the #3 someone who can catch and move… the dunkaneers are not panning out as planned

  11. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

How much fire could the coaches have to put Mike Jenkins out there as starter? That’s the equivalent of waiving the white flag. At least we made Kevin Devin Funchess look like a top WR.

  12. Cwis Says:

Finally! I guarantee he was referring to GMC, amongst others… Probably most the players that have been here for multiple seasons (besides vjax). That presser got me a little pumped for next year, somehow.

  13. 911bucs Says:

I like Winston’s drive and the way he’s calling out the slouches.

  14. Clodhopper Says:

That presser reminded me of a story I heard Michael Irvin tell. When the Cowboys went 3-13 his rookie year, he said he was so ticked off. He was visibly ticked off in the locker room. A few guys went by and patted him on the shoulders and said “Don’t worry, the checks will still cash.” He said he went to Jimmy Johnson with a list of guys that didnt want to win, and Johnson got rid of those guys. Jameis looked and talked like that was on his agenda this week!!

  15. Buccfan37 Says:

Just a bunch of sloppy teamwork plus obvious lesser talent on display.

  16. lightningbuc Says:

    America’s Garbage Time QB!

  17. Tampa Tony Says:

    Get these kid some weapons

  18. Young buc Says:

    Trade gmc please

  19. Tampabaybucfan Says:

One of the possible problems with Jameis could be his desire to keep some players that simply may not be good enough…..what do you do then if Jameis wants Humphries & Bell for example.

On the flip side….I do think if Jameis wants to get rid of players that haven’t bought in to his leadership….he will be successful at clearing out the losing mentality.

I like his fire…..and like the way he calls himself out.

  20. DallasBuc Says:

I am sure that LovieDovie is good at a great many things in life. Coaching NFL football is not one of them

  21. lurker Says:

lovie wants to win despite his incompetence! alrighty then.

  22. 1nebuc Says:

20yrs ago we drafted a guy that was scrutinized prior to him being drafted and everyone questioned what the bucs were doing . That player was the best dt to play the game Warren Sapp!!!! He demanded that every play you gave it your all or get the f off HIS TEAM . He has been trying to get it from GMC but he is not that dude . Jaboo is that next Warren Sapp and you will watch Sapp start to reach out to him this off season . That pressor today proved that he has zero tolerance for losing and will not except people on his team who do . This is his team from this day on and changes are on the way … GUARANTEE!#!!!

  23. Another J Says:

I like how Jameis tactfully called out his teammates.
He could have very well been talking about ASJ, Mike Evans,or McCoy!

  24. PhillyBuc Says:

    Fire Lovie

  25. The original "Kevin" Says:

CLODHOPPER I hope he takes that list right to the owners and lovie is on it. That defense is just pathetic on every level. I cant watch anothwr season like that.

  26. Young buc Says:

    Marion Williams please

  27. SOFIERCE Says:

Let Winston help pick players and vote to replace players.

  28. J Says:

People will start tuning this guy out. Sounds petulant.

  29. BucFan20 Says:

He is not a Rookie now. So he can point his finger if he wants. If GMC is in sight so be it. But why is Lovie not taking care of the problems? Because he is to soft and wants to be Mr Nice guy?

  30. lurker Says:

way better leader than lovie smith … lmao

we need more on this team like them, including the coaches

  31. meat Says:

    FIRE LOVIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  32. Buc1987 Says:

He certainly did call out GMC. When my wife says it before I do. He called out GMC.

  33. Buc1987 Says:

J…you’re wrong once again. This is part of his job.

  34. Bucfan77 Says:

Very encouraging words, but some how I dont see much difference next year,I hate to say it, I have been on the fence all year about Lovie but im convinced now he is not the kind of coach this team needs, they are guys on this team that dont repect or fear his leadership. He and you can tell by all the ridiculous penalties, like the glaring Mike Evans penalty, and so many selfish others, this stuff goes un challenged,I can tell it does because it keeps happening.I know these are Grown men and you treat them as such but when you act childish then you treat them like children,I rather lose without you than lose with you!

  35. B Says:

Amazing that he lives and breathes this attitude. Sad that he had to say what he did. Lovie’s losers on full display.

  36. Pawel Says:

    I miss Greg Schiano.

  37. BucGator Says:

Passion! Finally! We need more of him!

Think they already have. The only one listening is JOE!

  39. unbelievable Says:

Ha J you are so wrong.

You can tell how disgusted he is by the players that are just playing to get a check. God how can you not love this kid? His fire and passion?

Watch Lovie’s presser afterwards to see the complete opposite. Looks like someone killed his dog.

Regardless of who is HC, Jameis is going to have the majority of players on this team following him into battle next season, and for years to come!

  40. JaMarcus Winston Says:

Next year will be more of the same. This guy will go nuts as they have an equally bad season. Teammates will tune him out and hopefully one of the OL will allow Greg Hardy get a free run and wipe out this loser. He blames everyone but himself.

  41. Bucs Fan Since '76 Says:

Jameis just laid down the marker. Fight like hell all the time or he’s gonna get in your face. Ignore him and waive goodbye to your check. Fire Lovie, hire Pagano, keep Koetter, win with Jaboo. Simple as that.

  42. Buc1987 Says:

The dissenters are starting to make themselves look like fools.

lightningbuc…you’re totally biased to begin with, seeing how you love to bring up that false r-ape charge all the time. Your points about him are meaningless. Read the comments that fans are dropping after watching the presser.

It seems many fans believe in this kid and they ARE listening to him, not just the Joes. Your resistance is futile. Even some of the biggest Jameis haters on these boards pre-draft have already jumped on this kids wagon.

How’s it feel to be in a very small minority?

  43. Buc1987 Says:

I have another Jameis story for everyone.

At Christmas I was in Sarasota at my brothers house, in a gated high society neighborhood. HUGE houses, lots of rich snotty people.

One of the kids in the neighborhood got a ride over to my brothers house to see one of his kids. I was outside smoking a cig. In the car was her dad and what appeared to be an 80 or something year old woman in the passenger seat. I walked a little closer noticing his Buc tag on the back of his car. I asked “how do you like Jameis so far?” he nodded in approval. Then the old lady leans from the passenger side to the drivers side out the window and gave me 2 thumbs up and said “Yes Jameis”.

I had to laugh, because I was talking to the dad and not the grandmother. Yet she made it abundantly clear to me how much she liked Jameis.

Wake up dissenters. Do your research and you WILL find that this kid is a GOOD kid. Beside his countersuit says it all.

  44. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I’m sold on Winston….I like his passion and fire…..he has a tremendous upside…and is very tough & is a winner.

That being said….he was still a rookie QB…..we scored only 10 points today….sure, Carolina has a great defense…but we have to do better.

I think Jameis will work very hard to improve on his accuracy…..on many of his passes today he was way off the mark….not even close…..that will improve.

  45. Brent bull/buc Says:

Guys quit today. I didn’t see that with Evans or jw. Add 3 good rookies to the defense and 2 free agents and that’s almost half a new defense. Hopefully a new attitude. Everyone on Evans I don’t see it. He produces and plays hard he def immature but he’s also young. Jw about like I thought. Good player will be high reward and high punishment he’ll throw a lot of Tds but also a lot of picks. Good leader too. Not necessarily great but he’ll be good.

  46. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I totally agree that Evans is really a hard player…..he’s got some fire and that cost him today….but I like it.
I really like our young players…..I think many fans don’t see the promise this team has.

  47. JabooBuc Says:

Buc1987: lightningbuc and Jamarcus Winston are correct in that many have already tuned Jameis out which is exactly the problem. They are the “losers” and both lightningbuc and Jamarcus can be included in that group.

Jameis has stood at each press conference and has only talked about the parts of the game he is responsible for. He has taken ownership for his mistakes and I have yet to hear him throw anyone under the bus. If you’re not bought in as a player or fan then chances are you are the problem.

I have friends (mostly Gator fans) that were among the most adiment about not drafting Jameis. However, with this season in the bank all of them now agree that this kid is a winner. It is undeniable if you ever been around one.

  48. Brent bull/buc Says:

I agree. Theirs promise. Good draft this year would help get us to ‘decent’ imo. One good thing the nfc is a parity conference. With the exception of like 4 teams: Vikings panthers cardinals Seahawks the Bucs can compete with the rest of the teams. Just need some young defensive talent. Coaching? I figure lovie has 1 year left and he may be out..

  49. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Jameis Winston was absolutely the right pick for the Bucs….I was skeptical…but mainly about his off-field behavior….I’m now pretty confident that won’t be a problem.

I am dismayed that there are still “fans” that question the draft decision….I think they have another agenda….it can’t be the well-being of the Bucs.

  50. Buc1987 Says:

@Jaboo…what makes them look foolish is I think they expected many fans to hate the kid, but that’s not the case. They want to be right, but their not.

I’m a gambling man in case anyone hasn’t noticed. I’ll bet he wins his civil suit and she loses hers with anyone on these boards. Place your bets.

  51. Buc1987 Says:

I spotted 4 morons while looking through all the comments section. Perhaps they will bet with me. They talk about the over-hyping that Joe does of Jameis. They talk about how they still don’t see what many fans are seeing. Yet they’re never around after he has a good game. I guess that’s the definition of a troll.

Newsflash morons…it’s not just the local media, and local fans that see how good he’s going to be. Many are saying in national as well.

Stay in the small minority for now. I guess it just takes the less intelligent ones a little longer than the rest of us to see it.

  52. Dave Says:

You guys who think they are tuning out Winston are clueless.
The majority of the team have said throughout the year this guy is a fantastic leader and they will follow him to war. The only ones not listening are the ones he is calling out, and they will be gone

  53. Smith&Winston Says:

I feel all warm and toasty inside!

  54. godzilla13 Says:

87 – Just because someone has a different opinion than yours does not mean you need to call them morons. After reading your comment on how grandmas thumbs up as a metaphor to Winston being a good kid is..well..you know where I am going with this..

There is no doubt Jameis has the “fire and desire”, he just needs to throw accurate passes, score in the red zone and not turn the ball over. He can blow off as much as he wants about the whys but as long as he is not getting his job done, it will be difficult if not impossible to get others to follow. There is one attribute Jameis might want to find a bit more of..being humble.

  55. Architek Says:

Steve White essentially says that Jameis was wrong for calling our players for having losing mentalities in the lockeroom and he said its unprofessional.

Check the TL I responded and while I understand his premise I definitely know a decade of losing has to account for something and someone that’s won all their life can’t and won’t settle for losing.

    Go check his TL.

    —————————————————————————–
This seems to me to be spot on. Kudos to you!
When the game is over, then Jameis settles down and seems more accurate in his throws.
The offense is ranked seventh in the league. Does it really look like that to any of you? Look at the stats and offensive production when the game is still in question. Grade the accuracy of the throws. Don’t just ooh and aah over a comeback when down 28-6, like in St. Louis.

  57. Buc1987 Says:

godzilla13….they’re never around when he has good game. It’s not an opinion btw, it’s agenda. It’s actually a biased opinion of poster that called him r-apist throughout last offseason.

So I ask you. How does one take these “opinions” seriously when the poster already hated Jameis before he signed on the dotted line?

Winston DID acknowledge that he made mistakes in this game. Everyone saw it including me, but he DID take the blame. No need to suggest otherwise.

  58. Buc1987 Says:

Tickrdr…nobodies oohing and awing about his performance in this game BTW Bucs fans are not the only ones doing that occasional oohing and awing when he has a good game.

Did he do what Glennon couldn’t do? You posted the numbers that you expected him to reach or match Glennon throughout the offseason. Post them again if you can. I’m sure Winston shattered those numbers, which is why we don;t hear from you as much.

We don’t hear from many of you as much, except when Jameis has a rough game. Then you click on JBF to let us know about it. Why is that?

  59. Buc1987 Says:

The Eagles sucked this season, but when Winston torched them, where were you guys? M.I.A.

  60. destro44 Says:

What Jameis did here is save Lovie’s job. He took up his coach’s backs and told the fan base the problem here is with the players, more specifically their attitudes and why they come to work. I expect massive roster churn this off-season as the wrong guys are shown the door for some players with the right mindset, regardless of talent. Reminds me of Mike Singletary going off about Vernon Davis, “can’t play with a guy like that, can’t win with them, can’t do it!”

  61. JabooBuc Says:

You anti Jameis guys are entertaining. The guy had one of the greatest ROOKIE QB campaigns in history and you guys can’t admit you were wrong. There’s the one guy who calls himself “Jamarcus Winston” who might as well call himself the Captain of the Tards, who just can’t get his head around the idea that he is so wrong (and racist) about Jameis.

Please continue to display your stupidity for all to see on a more regular basis. It is fun to go the zoo on occasion.

  62. Bobby Says:

No, Jameis didn’t call out GMC. He said the defense “played their tails off” so I don’t think that’s calling out GMC. I also think he’s crazy for thinking the defense played their tails off. I thought we sucked on both sides of the ball. I think he was calling out ASJ and Evans for all the drops and whining so much.

  63. Gerald McRuud Says:

He’s not talking about me, is he?

  64. godzilla13 Says:

87 – Believe it or not I am a fan of Winston because I an a Buccaneers fan. I was a big time supporter of him before he was drafted. My comment was based on him in a leadership role and being unprofessional with how he is handing his opinion on his teammates losing mentality.
