Da’Quan Bowers Returns

December 15th, 2015
Last chance. Again.

Last chance. Again.

Tampa Bay has gone deep, deep, deep into its defensive tackle depth this season, and now it will dip into its past for more help.

Da’Quan Bowers is at One Buc Palace today preparing to play on Thursday night for the Bucs in St. Louis. Expect an official announcement this morning.

Not counting his tight team of gospel superstars, Bowers has been without a team this year, though he’s head lots of tryouts following getting cut by the Bucs before opening day.

The 2011 Bucs’ second-round pick made two starts in place of Gerald McCoy last December and registered 1 1/2 sacks in six games.

To Joe, it smells like McCoy might go on injured reserve the moment the Bucs are officially eliminated from the playoff hunt — if they’re indeed eliminated.

We must be going for draft picks again.

  3. MadMax Says:

    Oh Daquan. Show something please!

  4. Trubucfan22 Says:

He knows the system and the plays, that’s the only reason he’s here. He might not perform well, and shouldn’t see much playing time, but you gotta have depth on the d line. McCoy shouldn’t be playing… He’s just too banged up.

  5. OneLove Says:

When you have to re-sign a SCRUB like Bowers to fill a need(Even as far a depth is concerned), then you KNOW YOU HAVE SOME SERIOUS LACK OF TALENT!! Kinda makes me feel bad for Lovie and what he has to work with…. Poor guy….

    trade gmc for a 2nd and a 4th…draft 2cbs and 2des…hit FA for a cb,de and wr….everyone will forget about gmc…we have a true leader in #3…GO BUCS!!!

  7. The Buc Realist Says:

I keep telling Daq”quan Bowers just need to wear some dreads and do one late hit on a QB, Then the sheep will call him a “beast” like they did with adrain slowborn!!!

  8. BuccaneerBonzai Says:

This late in the season, when you run out of depth due to injury, you scrape bottom. It’s not like they can trade for a player. Too late in the season for that.

I just hope he doesn’t stick.

  9. BuccaneEric75 Says:

OneLove, we have DT talent….. They’re just all injured. Lol

  10. BuccaneEric75 Says:

Seriously though, I hope he can be serviceable these last 3 games. He should have the most energy of anyone on the field Thursday.

  11. Dave Says:

Idiots who want to Get rid of GMC… Stop.
They get a couple DEs and DBs in the draft and FA and they are playoff bound. An edge rusher with GMC in the middle would be s nightmare for opponents.

Ah, nothing like the sour smell of desperation

    Da’Quan Bowers is a beast.

I hear he’s doing the team a favor and ending his music tour early. In exchange the team offered him a spot on the half time show next home game.
