GMC Makes A Play!

November 1st, 2015
Finally!.

Finally!

The GMC haters were out in full force. And for a change, Joe was about to jump on the bandwagon.

The self-proclaimed leader of one of the most putrid defenses Joe has ever seen, a guy who readily and openly admits the only season in the NFL he didn’t have fun was the lone season he was part of a winning football team, was totally invisible in the second half today.

Joe never heard his name called. It was as if GMC was inactive.

But with the game on the line, with the Dixie Chicks needing to convert a fourth down in overtime to extend the drive with the Bucs leading by three, GMC races in, wrapped up Matty Ice and forced Matty Ice into a rotten throw, winning the game.

An improbable win over a good team on the road in overtime.

GMC was so overcome with emotion, he broke down at midfield.

For all the loud GMC haters who screamed about him just making one play — just one! — when the team needed it, GMC finally came through not just with a big-time play, but a game-winner.

Props to GMC! Don’t let this big play be your last, big fella!

What was up with that look at the coin toss

  3. Buc Neckid Says:

    Props to GMC
    Turning Point though????

  4. Coopsxx Says:

Before that his best play was “tails”

    McCoy is a knuckle dragger

  6. unbelievable Says:

He looked like he was in pain and trying to hide it by ‘acting cool’ ?

Either way he made a crucial play so hats off to McCoy!

  7. R.O Says:

We’re going to have to figure out how to get Fye and Humphries in the game. Gonna need ASJ (The man of tin) to play. M. Evans needs to start doing Yoga during the offseason. This is rediculous with the muscle pulls and strains.

  8. DB55 Says:

did he really break down at midfield? Lmao. Really? Smh

  9. dusthty rhothdes Says:

He is a clown, trade him for some 1st round picks

  10. Lue0615 Says:

Really he needs to be traded. One big play in the last 3 games cmon

  11. Tampatony Says:

First impact play in his 5+ seasons here!!! Don’t let it be your last GMC

  12. dusthty rhothdes Says:

Send him to your boy in NE for a couple of #1s

  13. DefenseRules Says:

GMC’s obviously playing hurt and getting zero help from the DEs to get pressure on the QB. Matt Ryan lit up the secondary today (surprise?) largely because the DLine gave him all day to pass most of the time. Thank heaven that Atlanta self-destructed early with all the turnovers, and that Jameis and the offense were able to capitalize on each one.

  14. NewTampaChris Says:

Props to the defense for coming up big in OT, even after another we-are-butter-you-are-a-hot-knife second half.

But most of all, props to Jameis for looking really good on that OT drive. Third down conversions, on-the-money throws and generally looking like an NFL QB.

    FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. OneLove Says:

    @DB55
Have you ever even played sports?? Gerald McCoy would SLAP the SH!T out of your sorry ass so SHUT THE F#% UP!!

  17. Capt. Tim Says:

    Trade McCoy?

I dont believe some of you idiots have ever watched a football game .
    Ever.

Please dont post things like that.
It reflects poorly on the foitball fans who post here

We dont want anyone thinking all of us are F^*king stupid as some of you

Offenses build their offensive strategies around stopping McCoy. You’ve had opposing coaches say that!!
If it wasnt for him- we’d have no one who could rush the passer.

He alone applies pressure to Opposing QBs. Wish we would get him some damn help. We put too much on him.
Bet we draft a GOOD DE this year

At the coin toss-,he was asking the bench which end zone we wanted to defend.
    Again- ever watch football?

  18. Espo Says:

I DVR’d the game and didn’t start watching till 2. I seriously thought he was inactive and I had missed the announcement earlier. When I started zeroing in on him, I didn’t see the double and triple teams people mention in his defense. I didn’t see any 2 step drops either. I saw an ineffective GMC whose best play was hugging another man’s ankles. He didn’t roll or drive his legs to tackle him. He just held on and hoped someone else would finish him off. At least it was timely, but I’d prefer consistent pressure of 1 ankle wrap a game.

I think Matt Ryan’s spray tan was just as responsible for that throw as GMC.

Given the week he had, in which most of the idiot fans turned on him, along with media too…and then the second comeback in two weeks…do you really have to ask that?

He was frustrated. It didn’t stop him from winning the game for us.

  20. Espo Says:

    @ Capt

I know you were directing that at others but let me just say I wouldn’t trade him for anything less than multiple 1sts… But you have to admit he seems to disappear at times. He’s the base of our defense and everyone else looks better when he plays well. Pressure up the middle without blitzing is a killer. I know, because we used to have a guy that spoiled us by doing it every down.

  21. John McKillop Says:

Amen, capt. Tim, go get em! sometimes people make no sense.

  22. loggedontosay Says:

Joe, Big bubba does not get any props for that. It was about time he did something. With the money he is getting paid? His pass rush alone should make the the talentless backfield better. When is Banks going to come around?

  23. Ray Rice Says:

As I said this morning…. Doesn’t need to be a sack. Just make a play. And he finally did. Would it have happened without the pocket collapsing from the outside? Probably not. But it did. And they all worked together in doing it. Just him getting to Mattys ankles made it happen. I’m still disturbed by his absence all game. But my favorite team winning feels good. How bout that MESSIAH kid? Sure looks like a winner to me. #THEMESSIAHLEADEROFMEN

  24. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I’m ashamed I cheer for the same team as some of you.

  25. Max Says:

I think he is playing in pain…his injury seems to be affecting him but he’s out there toughing it out.

Uhh…dumbass…u do realize this can be taken as a racial remark/slur right? If ur wondering how…they used (still do) to call African Americans apes and monkeys. Please get ur sh*t together sir.

  27. Capt. Tim Says:

We just won a huge game. Mainly because this will be the game that lets this Team know- Winston can drive down and win the big games!
Thats huge. This team would have crashed, if we had lost again by blowing a big lead

We didnt. Jameis proved that he can win under pressure.
    Confidence!!

Yet the first post after this win, is trashing our best defensive player. A guy who has managed to apply pressure to opposing QB’s, since the day he got here.

He has suffered alone. Never had anyone beside him, who warrented any special attention from the offense.in fact, many let Gerald do their job too, while they loafed.

Every play is the same. You watch the line, you see it colapsing up the middle- where one guy is driving back a center and a guard. Its been that way for McCoy since day one.

Lousy coaches, having to learn new schemes and terminology every year
Then being beat like harp seal pup every game. Some of them EPIC beatings, because no one else on this team had talent anywhere near his level.

One great player and 47 srcubs, getting the hell beat out of the every week
    McCoy didnt deserve this garbage.
Only now, have we brought in a pro coach and GM- who will get him some help.
But we’ve misused this rare talent so long- that you can see him dtarting to wear down. Every locker room interview, you can see he is in Pain.

    But still fighting

And now, after a team Altering win- the first thing you read is trashing a guy who has fought and bled for this team. And represented us with Pride.

A bunch of underachieving F*^king idiots that couldnt point out the DT if you gave them an hour. They just wanna trash someone talented- to make them feel better about their failed lives

You losers should go drown yourselfs in the toilet
Reading your ignorant post, make me more and more Pro bullying
Some people just need to shoved around

  28. Joe Says:

Yet the first post after this win, is trashing our best defensive player.

“Trashing?” You need to wash your eyes out and re-read.

    Joe gave the guy props.

  29. lurker Says:

some people just don’t get your back-handed compliments, joe 😉

  30. BucTrooper Says:

    Awesome! He came through…….

…..after being complicit in blowing another DOUBLE-DIGIT lead.

That’s like blowing your foot off with a shotgun then looking for praise for how well you bandaged up your missing toes.

  31. Bucfan77 Says:

All I will say is finally he made some of that big pay check.

  32. Makie Lovie Says:

I am happy he made the play at the end of the game. I seriously only watch him when the defense is on the field. Just because of the banter lately. Probably stuck watching him from now on. He was really absent most of the game. He looks like he was playing patty cake with the blockers. How about a swim move or something. I also found out that he was the highest paid D lineman – not just for us, but the whole NFL. I dont think he would get so much grief if he played as good as some of the no-names on the D and was paid like them. I am still grateful for the 1 million dollar hug of Matt Ryans leg. I hope he gets it going.

  33. Brent Says:

I’m sure gmc is at least a good player. You hear he’s doubled a lot. Maybe if we can find another legit dude for our dl he’ll be better. I wanna know what’s up with Evans. He’s played weak. If he’s hurt he needs to sit out. I mean except for a pass interference he was weak. He’s supposed to be a stud. He look like carol Burnett out there. If your hurt just sit down and heal.

  34. Makie Lovie Says:

Brent, He was borrowing Vjax’s catching gloves.

“The self proclaimed leader of a very bad defense”

$20,000,0000 a year buys you Tom Brady, JJ Watt, and Aaron Rodgers, superstars at their respective position. Ya the last play was important. Yea. Not pretty, not a splash play, and still gave Ryan a chance to finish the play. What frustrates me is that we pay a superstar paycheck to a Henry Melton-type guy who disappeared for 17 unanswered points. Am I glad we got him? Yea. Do I think he’s an important leader or voice in the locker room? No. Would I rather have spent that money on a PROVEN guy like Revis? Yea

  36. Mike10 Says:

Anybody watch the Cowboys game? Watch Hardy play. He makes at least one play a half and has to be accounted for on every play. If you take away his off the field shenanigans, I’d pay that man 20 mil 7 days a week before I gave McCoy a penny. Just think it’s important for us Bucs fans who are numbed by big talk and little play to support it, to be reminded of what real football life is.

  37. Clint Says:

I’m not a hater. Captain GMC is totally pedestrian.

  38. Capt. Tim Says:

    No- you are clueless

Joe- thats hiving him props??? Meybe you better damn well reread it.
That was nothing but troll fodder, thrown out to drawn the really stupid ones together.

I could copy/ paste a dozen lines- but I’m sure you are aware of what you wrote.

I know I can read it.

  39. godzilla13 Says:

@One Love Says – Right on!

Gerold McCoy is a pedestrian. (Really? A pedestrian?) His best play was “tails”. He is ineffective and in pain. By trying to hide it, by ‘acting cool’ and did he really break down? He needs to be traded.

That is what I just read on this site. Its one thing to debate his leadership skills its another to claim your a Bucs fan and question his play. McCoy is injured. Even injured he still plays in every game and gives it his all. He still gets double teamed as well. On just about every play he gets into the backfield. He clogs his area area of responsibility and controls his gaps. He disrupts plays. He made a game winning play. Anyone who think this guy collects his check and don’t care..who cares.
