The modern day Johnny Unitas at work against the Bucs today.

Bucs fans, how did you like today’s shat-in-the-bed performance by the Bucs defense, Lovie Smith’s defense?

Joe is confident guys who hang drywall for a living will have steady work the next few weeks patching holes in walls throughout the Tampa Bay area after the shameful Tampa Bay defense passed a 24-point lead like yesterday’s bowl of hot chili.

Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins, who made the Bucs defense look like a private-school, Pasco-County 7-on-7 summer league defense, sure liked it.

Let the following sear into your brains, Bucs fans. Lovie’s defense is responsible for Kirk Freaking Cousins going all Ric Flair after the game.

    Damn what a shame

  2. Danr Says:

dear jesus. its easy to have that attitude when refs dont call holding while the oline has gerald mccoy in a headlock.

im never one to go to the ‘ref’ excuse, ever. But today? today!? man get held while on your knees, you get up and bump the qb and the call is roughing the passer.

    some of the worst stuff.

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

What’s lost in all of this is how well Jameis did today…..I believe this was his best game….and he can build on that….

Also, Mike Evans was extremely good…..and what a BS call on his PI So, when the defender has his hands all over him, Mike can’t push them off?

Doug Martin & Charles Sims were great…..

    Don’t like the playcall on 3rd & goal….

That lost yardage and, I’m quite certain the reason why we went for the FG….

  5. mark2001 Says:

Lovies D blows….get him out of here and hire or promote a 21st century coach to lead this team into the future…not one coaching like it is the early 1980’s.

  6. Firelovie Says:

    FIRE LOVIE. THAT IS ALL

  7. Bob Rupp Says:

I am not a football expert nor do I pretend to be one. All I know is that if you are beating a bad team by 24 points and manage to lose its on the coach. period.

  8. WalkdaPlank Says:

    @TBBF

Agree. Jameis played well and Dougie had his 3rd straight 100 yard game. Offense wasn’t perfect but was good enough to win. Better than Lovie can say for his defense.

  9. Bud Says:

How do I feel? We thought Lovie tanked to get the quarterback. No. It was his skills. But the blame goes to the owners. They thought they’d get the band back together with Lovie. Competence. Defense. It was a move by folks who are looking the past. Hire somebody who knows football to advise and tell them what they are seeing. Because they don’t know.

  10. Firelovie Says:

If I performed like this at my job and brought the same results that Lovie does, not only would I be fired but people’s lives would be in danger. Lovie should be held accountable immediately and fired for this absolutely pathetic performance. He makes 3 times what I make and is given a pass on a weekly basis. I’m done.

  11. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @TBBF

Yes there were plenty of bright spots on offense but even there I’m wondering if they’ll ever learn to win.

Evans needs to go to hollywood stunt men or perhaps pro wrestlers, people who are used to making their actions and motions look a certain way. Everytime a defender puts his hands on ME he gets caught pushing their hands away. We could argue why he never gets the call, I personally thought today should have been a no call, but the way he pushes with his hands makes it LOOK like HE’s the one responsible. He literally needs to work with experts to perfect his acting so he can pull his arms to him instead of pushing off….and he needs to know that he NEVER going to get a call by whining…polish the acting skills ME!

TBF…4-18…nice to see the glass half full when the glass has a third quarter sized hole in the bottom. Newsflash…among worst HC and Ownership in the league…this team is bad….about 40 years of watching this team and I see a very familiar picture of incompetence.

  13. nancyr Says:

i am over 60 yrs old and dont know much about football but the one thing i do know is you must have confidence and a good leader not going for the 4th and goal shows that we dont have either fire the coach and my friend paul

  14. MaTLoK727 Says:

am i wrong or have the bucs d done this for years ? if im correct rah and gregs defenses both made horrible qbs look good , foles ,rg3, drew stanton charlie batch cam2 times his rook season and just about everyone else who started against us that year , with revis on our team geno smith walked up the field to win the game all of that b4 lovie and yea still the same but all picks went to offense and seems to have a future so give him time to build/draft some defense this yearr

  15. Doc Says:

The hot seat is on fire. Please send us a coach with some nerves and know how to win. If this GM do not fire this coach,he needs to give everything back to the Glazer’s,and let their name be destroyed.

  16. Sick of Lovie Says:

    DefenseRules….

I hate this. But, I told you so. Cousins turned in a career performance in a 24-0 come from behind victory. The dude was unstoppable. Lovie sucks.

  17. Lovie Is Dog Poo Says:

He or Colt McCoy would have whooped our ass last year. Thankfully we got the bust RG3. Defense is maybe the worse Bucs ever, the winning TD was a joke, clearly obvious what the play was and they play soft zone for the gimme TD. Reed didn’t even get touched from 5 yards out!

  18. MadMax Says:

So I went to bed and we looked like we had this…..I wake up, and THEY had this!!! Hahahaha, Im not surprised anymore.

Wheres Ndog? Welcome to my misery….smdh! Maybe you get me now….

  19. WINdycitybuc Says:

2 weeks to prepare for Washington, a 24 point lead, a team we trounced last year, and…we lost. This is what you get from an atrocious cultural philosophy. There is zero accountability from top to bottom in this regime. Lovie needs to be relieved of his job immediately and replaced with someone that believes in focus. He is simply an older version of Raheem.

  20. Buccfan37 Says:

It looked to me that Evans kind of slung the defender out of the way on that offensive pass interference call. A penalty every time. Cousins, give me a freaking break, the Bucs played like the game was over after getting the lead. He won’t top that game, unless he plays the Bucs again.

  21. loggedontosay Says:

The talent is just not their. The defense is coached well. They just can’t play with the big boys. Your boy Banks did not look to good Joe!

  22. ElioT Says:

No other defense in the history of the NFL has made more average to bad QBs look like all-stars than Sucs.

This defense has ZERO playmakers. ZERO!!!

There is a lack of passion, fire, and general toughness on this defense. They have taken on the identity of their head coach.

I hate to see coaches hired and fired ever other year, but if the hand-picked roster doesn’t respond to this coach, how can you keep him around?

Do you let this guy blow up the roster for a second time in two years?

Something is very wrong in Tampa and it’s not the talent. This team has enough talent to not lose a 2 1/2 quarter game with a 24 point head start.

How can you keep a coach when his team continues to set records for futility every week?

How the hell is this coach supposed to fix this?

This team has a loser mentality and it’s not getting better.

    Siege this!

    Go Sucs!

  23. Dusthty Rhothdes Says:

Im still waiting for it but in the mean time fire LOVIE and throw licht away too

  24. Howard Cosell Says:

The Glazers must be really proud.

  25. Tampa Tony Says:

Opposing qbs are going to have 4 hour erections after playing loser Lovie’s soft d

  26. Joseph Mamma Says:

You post the Kirwin/Prisco/Quinn show breakdown every week almost Joe. Brady Quinn absolutely nailed it when he said that Cousins would rebound against a very predictable defensive scheme. Exactly what happened.

  27. Howard Cosell Says:

Cousins set Redskins record for completions today.

I was born in Washington, DC. I cut my football fanatic teeth on the jokeskins. I live in Orlando and have followed Jay Gruden all thru Arena Football. I met him and Sherry Gruden years ago when he coached the Orlando Predators. They are two very classy people. Jay is a much better football mind than his bro, Chucky. Proof: check out the Bengals Offense this season.

Still, his team did not beat the Bucs today. The referees did. It was a heartbreaker for me. This Bucs team has to realize they will have to out-play the refs as well as the opposition. That’s how we won the SB.The jury’s out with me in terms of Lovie and Winston. I have followed the Bucs for 36 years. Certain patterns are starting to repeat themselves. One is the refs. Just look at the stats on the penalties. It’s right there in black and white print.

I don’t watch the Bucs on the boob tube. I listen to Bucs Radio via streaming. Better coverage.

  31. Tony West Says:

No matter what happens, I think we can confidently say this… We got ourselves a QB, Tampa fans. One that will continue to get better and imprint his aggressiveness onto the offense once he gets a better handle on reading defenses.

  33. JAB83 Says:

What makes a fan a fanatic??? Is it negative support when a team is bad or positive support when a team is good???

Let’s be real honest… All you fire Lovie and this team suck people are not fanatics… Your fans of kicking kittens because its what makes you feel good…. Your points are pointless and your “concerns as a fan” are fabricated to justify and hide your real desire as wife beaters…

A real fan realizes the dog days just make the glory days that much sweeter…. A real fan sees improvement and looks for corrections to issues… A real fan sees this team has direction for a change and knows calling for the coaches head would usher in more of the same….

So to all you sad sorry fake fans… You really do a good job of abusing the true fans and mixing your hatred in with the real fans whos concerns and disappointment is valid….

I just wish you trolls would get a life but I realize bottom feeding garbage eating scum like you all get off on feeding on what you call a “garbage bottom dwelling team and franchise”. It just so happens by saying that about the team means you also feel that way about this city and your life… Can’t wait for you all to choke……….. On your words…

  34. dave Says:

joe you would think we would just make maybe one adjustment on jordan reed. almost a dozen slant passes to him pretty much won the game for them and our plenties put a nice bow on that present also
