“Don’t You Like This Feeling A Little Bit Better?”

October 12th, 2015

jason and lovieMild mannered Lovie Smith showed quite a bit of spunk in the locker room after yesterday’s throttling of the sad sack Jaguars.

A chunk of the festivities were captured by NFL Films or Buccaneers house cameras. You can watch part of Lovie’s passionate address here.

“Don’t you like this feeling a little bit better?” Lovie shouted twice.

It’s fun stuff for any Bucs fans.

Interesting that perhaps Lovie’s biggest shout was, “Running backs, O-line, Thattaway to pound the rock!”

Lastly, does anyone clap with more enthusiasm than Jameis Winston, America’s Quarterback?

Lovie should be ashamed to call himself as head of this Bucs defense. The worst QB in the league can riddle this defense with completions.

  2. Eric Says:

Defense does need work but remember Lovie took over such a disastrous team he has only been able to use one draft choice on a defensive player.

What he has done is bring in a very promising young QB we can build around along with Evans.

And, IMO our oline has much better potential and heart with Smith and Marpet than that sorry group of overpaid underacievers Lovie ran out of town.

The arrow is pointing up. Not as fast as we all would like but decidedly up.

But, some bucs fans seem to believe Lovie took over some great team.

    He didn’t.

  3. Hawaiian Buc Says:

That was the first thing I noticed when watching this video is how passionate Jameis was. This guy loves football. He may not always make the right decisions or the accurate throw, but he clearly loves the game and fights every second he’s out there. On the contrary, go watch the replay of the Jags fumble that Smith recovered for a TD. Watch the effort (or lack thereof) of Bortles chasing down the ball. I would say he jogged, but he’d have to be running a little faster to be a jog. I’m glad our guy would never do that.

  4. Ben Says:

Mike Evans was a little too excited about having today off.

  5. Rob Says:

Ben you beat me too it. I’m all for the day off… but why can’t he jump that high in a game?

  6. @FamousBroy3434 Says:

You guys are nuts. It’s Monday morning after a victory and you guys ALWAYS find the negatives even when we score 38. And cmon people lovie has a conservative defense as it is. Jags scored garbage points cmon

  7. bucrightoff Says:

The Jags scored exactly 0 garbage points. Let’s not give false credit where it isn’t due. Garbage time is down 3 or more scores with under 5 minutes, or 4 or more scores under 10 minutes. The Bucs secondary is just the softest unit in the NFL by a considerable margin. 39 year old Charles Woodson puts our whole secondary to shame. Let’s not give it the respect it doesn’t deserve. It’s not garbage time when you need an onside kick recovery to win the game.

  8. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

Hey Joes, what do you think about posting Lovie’s and Jameis’ press conferences every week? Would love to have those on the site rather than having to hunt them down

  9. Patrick in VA Says:

We follow a bottom rung team. I’m not sure if you all realize that but it’s the truth. Teams like ours don’t improve over night so we’re all riding along with the improvement project which is going to be a process. Yes, some teams are able to turn it around quickly. That’s not our team. Our team has been poorly managed for a long time. There’s an overhaul of talent and an overhaul of a culture that has needed to happen. It was a fun game to watch. It was great to win. It was really cool to see some of our guys improving in some areas, especially on offense. Yes, the focus of our drafts has been on the offensive side the last 2 years. Isn’t it encouraging to see those guys showing up and holding their own? Let’s let them develop a bit more and look forward to these guys finding defensive gems in next year’s draft and in free agency. The initial free agency class was a flop but that was really just an effort to give this team a quick shot in the arm. It didn’t work. But the players brought in to grow within the system are doing well. That is encouraging and I’m excited to see these guys continue to improve.

bucrightoff…the onside might have tied it, but with that said the fans that predicted Lovie would make Bortles look like Montana, were correct.

Yes you got the win Lovie. Thank Koetter, or better yet take him out to dinner or something, because he just saved your ass yesterday.

  11. bucrightoff Says:

Oh yeah 87, Koetter gets the game ball for sure. If the offensive game plan was not as good as it was, Bucs probably lose yesterday. Defense is going to be a huge liability all year so we’re going to need to see more good offensive game plans to get some wins.

  12. Mike Johnson Says:

LIKE I said..by any means necessary. A bad team gotta take it…any way they can get it. It was great to see the locker room in a different light. One never knows..Lets see if the bye week helps. Our Bucs are finally realizing…Its best to feature Jamis later on in the game. Not at the beginning. He’s gonna have to get comfortable under center with a few snaps before we feature him throwing all over the place. Less chance for turnovers. O line played well. Defense though needs..a whole lotta work Lets keep the wins going.

  13. Joseph Mamma Says:

The team and organization is so pathetic we celebrate after we beat Jacksonville.

  14. unbelievable Says:

Gotta beat the bad teams before you can beat the good ones.

And, I would say there are much worse QBs in the league than Bortles. The kid has got talent, but no weapons around him.

Our defense needs a lot of work though

  15. unbelievable Says:

@Joseph, so should we not celebrate a win? Would you be happier with a loss to a bad team?

    Some “fans”… SMDH

  16. RustyRhinos Says:

    “America’s clapper” ?
    Go Bucs!
