Dancing & Fist-Bumping: And Chewing Out Mike Jenkins?

Joe’s got practice video of cornerbacks coach Gil Byrd getting animated

Joe had a video crew of 23/24 people on the scenes at One Buc Palace this afternoon to film the 30-minute practice window open to media.

A trusted cameraman zeroed in on cornerbacks drills, where a bizarre sequence showed the flair and fire of cornerbacks coach Gil Byrd, and interesting looks at Johnthan Banks, Mike Jenkins and Sterling Moore.

Is Jenkins getting his ass chewed out?

Enjoy.

Working his at to the bench

  3. Tbbucs3 Says:

Ya he was the worst one in that drill

  4. tmaxcon Says:

both jennings and jenkins would not be on a NFL roster if it was not for the incompetent Lovie treating the roster and salary cap like a charity fund.

  5. bucsbedabest Says:

At least Johnthan Banks was practicing. ASJ and Logan Mankins did not. Not a good sign for ASJ playing Sunday.

  6. DefenseRules Says:

I didn’t see Byrd chewing out Jenkins either Joe. But it sure is promising to see Johnthan Banks back out there practicing.

Is it me or does it look like we don’t practice drills at full tilt?

I saw it joe… the coach was tellin Jenkins to stay in front of the wr and chop his feet…it looks like the coach praised moore for his drill as he stayed in front of the wr and maintain leverage…out of all the cb’s to do the drill Jenkins was the only one to flip his hips…GO BUCS!!!

    Enjoy? I fell asleep. ZZZZZZ!

As Allen Iverson once said…”we talkin’ ’bout practice”.

  10. Matt Says:

If you have too chew players out then they do not deserve too be on the team trade for a decent cb and lets hope too god that banks and that cb competes all year long together .

  11. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Hahaha – Gil still knows how to keep them feet moving.
Gon’, lose about 30LB’s- and show them kids how its done.

All I know is that looked like a coach doing his job like he should be. I like the passion and energy. Nice seeing Banks out there. I think Jenkins is better than he’s given credit for but not starting caliber. Unfortunately, if they want Verner that badly playing the slot receiver, then who’s a better option than Jenkins on this team as the #2 corner? Nobody is going to say Jennings. I’m pretty confident about that.

  13. Me Says:

Banks and Moore should be the starting corners wit verner as nickel back but what do I know I’m just a fan that used to play corner

Maybe the team could invest in better positional coaches. If certain positions aren’t performing up to snuff… Well then maybe its fundamentals related.

Wrong! Watch it again, more objectively this time. It looks like Banks is the one who is struggling. Byrd breaks down what he wants from Banks at the beginning, better shuffling, and hip swivel when the receiver breaks to the outside. By contrast it is actually Jenkins who does the drill perfectly. This is earns an animated approval from the coach. It actually appears that Banks is doing a lot of talking back to the coach at the beginning. Could this be why he is in Lovies “Dog House”? If so, Im on the coaches side.

nawl coasthopper….check it out again..banks and moore did the drill exactly the same..it was Jenkins who screwed up…Jenkins was suppose to chop his feet and stay in front of the wr…Jenkins flipped his hips and was out of position…in the beginning it looks like coach was explaining what he wants in the drill and banks was the first in line thru the drill…then coach reiterates what he wants to the rest of the players after banks goes thru the drill…banks and moore were the only ones to chop and not flip their hips…GO BUCS!!!
