Texans Owner Jealous Of Jameis

September 28th, 2015
Coveted.

A coveted man.

For the haters and the anti-Jameis blowhards out there, this is for you.

The owner of the team that beat the Bucs yesterday, a team that narrowly missed the playoffs last year, the guy who spent some $700 million to bring the NFL back to south Texas, is jealous of the Bucs.

That’s right. Bob McNair, who intrepid reporter Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle caught outside the Texans’ locker room yesterday, pined for the Bucs rookie better known as America’s Quarterback. That would be one Jameis Winston.

Again, this is a guy whose team just beat Jameis!

So why would an owner of a team that just beat the Bucs salivate over Jameis? Hint: It’s not because he is dog meat.

Bet he isn’t jealous of our receivers today!

  2. Buc1987 Says:

    Jameis will be fine.

  3. Wombat Says:

I am not sure I read into that tweet as much as Joe does… That is a lot of padding!!

  4. Buc1987 Says:

He can’t have our QB, but he can have our kicker if he likes.

  5. mike Says:

Hint: its because he has ryan mallet and brian hoyer.

  6. bucrightoff Says:

He wishes his QBs could go up against the Bucs every week. Mallett would be All-Pro in no time.

  7. Bill T Says:

“He is going to be good quarterback”. He was the 1st pick in the draft, he better be. I was expecting drool from the owner….no, that was from Joe again

  8. Lord Cornelius Says:

Honestly I felt Winston’s performance @ Houston was his best of the year considering everything that happened.

If just 50% of those balls aren’t dropped then he’s like 21-36 for 300+ yards and likely 2 TDs at least. So many of those drops were drive killers. The worst was a 3rd down conversion that puts us at 1st and goal from the 7 (damnit Mike). He threw it behind ME but in the perfect spot that only he could touch it (since leading him could risk a pass breakup or interception).

And that is AT one of the better defenses in the league in only his 3rd start. And that is in spite of absolutely no run game.

He made a bunch of wow throws. Had a dumb interception for sure but I expect that here or there. Still don’t know what Mike Evans did to get an offensive PI call on that 30 yard completion.

  9. mike Says:

he looks like he is going to be good.I can’t wait til they are saying he is good.

  10. Stanglassman Says:

    Good points Lord Corn.

I don’t get how everyone is so sure that all of Jameis’s throws that seemed slightly off target were all his fault. He is throwing it to the spot he expects his Wrs to be. This isn’t throw and catch in the back yard. There is a reason why Jameis named a few of his receivers in the presser and said you can bet we will be working after practice on routes. I don’t think it was only because he wanted to work on his accuracy. Jameis is so classy that his forgave the guy who hit him low and almost Thesimanned him so he won’t come out and say it you’ve got to read between the lines.

  11. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

I TOLD YOU HATING TROLLS JAMEIS WINSTON IS THE MOST AWESOME QUARTERBACK IN BUCCANEER HISTORY!!!!!

  12. Anthony Says:

umm… coaches and owners always blow smoke when it comes to talking about other teams and their players … happened dozens of times this weekend for a bunch of average players

  13. Buccfan37 Says:

700 million don’t buy much these days.

  14. Rhonnie Says:

Totally agree with Lord Conelius. I thought it was Jameis’s best game as well considering the dead run game, dropped passes, missed FGs, and the Texans’ great defense. Probably would’ve won if half of those passes were caught (or if the field goals were kicked). Jameis is improving each week, and I hope he keeps up the great play this Sunday against Carolina.

  15. Another J Says:

I also agree with LC, Jameis looked very good yesterday,
People seem to forget this was only his 3rd game in the NFL!
He’s shown progress, and Great command of the huddle, With the exception of his one bad pass that was picked off, He had a great game!

Josh McCown would have tossed Five Picks yesterday!

  16. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

Don’t feel bad for the Texans owner…he was trying to have O’Brien hand us the win yesterday without making it look too obvious (and we failed to take the gift!). Texans have their future franchise QB in their sites…tanking their season for Hackenberg and the Bucs can’t even take the win!

  17. Skyline Crew Says:

I’m not seeing anything that other teams don’t usually do. He said he looked like a good player. Whoopie Doo. They said that about Glennon as well. How’s that working out. This site has gotten more worse. Any little thing about Winston and you post it, whether it means anything or not. This means jack crap. Your man crush has gotten out of control. Sorry, but I can’t come back here until you actually start reporting news about the Bucs vs everything Winston.

I know I know. Good riddance and we don’t care.

Later, maybe I’ll see ya near draft time next year when we are talking about Bosa.

  18. DB55 Says:

Evans could have made Jaboo look like a pro-bowler yesterday but he couldn’t catch a cold yesterday. Good thing we traded wright bc Myers was killing it on those 5 yard out routes or should I say 5 yard out route.

  19. Brent Says:

Were in good shape at qb. I wanted mariotta but who cares now didn’t happen. As long as bucs keep building o-line (we still need a rg and center) I think jw can develop. Takes time though..

  20. Tampa Tony Says:

Def not jealous of our coaches

  21. 813bucboi Says:

consistent improvement is what jameis is showing me and I love it…this team needs to help the kid out…GO BUCS!!!

  22. Rob Says:

Buc quarterback, not what you hilariously and incorrectly nicknamed him. Go Bucs. See if your idol can kick field goals. Can’t be worse than the goat

  23. LongSeasons Says:

Why would the Texans owner sing the praised of America’s Quarterback, Bucs signal caller Jameis Winston? So it would appear that his team accomplished something yesterday.

One day, Jameis might be a good QB. Just not this year. Not about hating Jameis. It is about reality and 4-12 is close to reality.

  24. Rodney Says:

Jameis is not special and will continue to play mediocre this year. But Joe knows QB’s.

  25. IdahoBucsfan Says:

I bet he wouldn’t want our coach!

  26. pittbucfan Says:

ya know? I, for one, am sick of hearing of the Jameis haters. Guess what?? He is our QB!! OUR QB!!! I don’t really give a phuck if he wasn’t your choice, my choice, Sapp’s choice etc. He is our QB!! I want Buc supremacy again!! Period!! So go Famous Jameis!!

  27. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Notice the owner said Winston is GOING TO BE a good quarterback. See the caps there? That’s what he said. I’m not making it up. I’m not twisting anything, not hating, not being a “bad fan”, etc, etc. He didn’t say Winston is a good QB right now, today. You know why? Because he isn’t. The stats and the camera don’t lie. Winston needs work.

  28. Matt Says:

Oh everyone knows that Mariota and Winston will both be stars , but they’re entirely different types of QBs . There’s nothing wrong with that though. The problem for TB is we have no speed everyone can catch the balls run routes and jump high but where is our speedy slot WR that is gonna run routes right over the d line in the middle of the field but under Lbs? We don’t have one . We should of paid Devin Hester what he wanted . Rainey won’t be on this team next year . His 2 fumbles even though he managed too get them both back is a proven fact that he just needs too go away already. Rannell hall should of been our KR . Adam Humphries needs too be our slot we and punt return man and the bucs need too utilize Adam more frequently . These o lineman busted there butts and the QB busted his butt and the plays looked great , but the playmakers didn’t show up. Either figure it out or get cut . TB ain’t gonna be waiting on inconsistent playmakers forever . This is winstons time to shine and if you’re not helping him you’re hurting him . Wish we gave Charles sims some more looks vs Houston , specially after that TD. Smh

  29. Matt Says:

Winston is a good Quarterback right now , he really hasn’t done anything wrong . He gets in a hurry when losing , but that’s about it . His accuracy and timing and ball placement has basically been perfect . His team needs too help him out more. Kicker , run defense , Rbs , kick returner , punt returner . We can’t have fails at these things every game . These guys gotta show up . Here we all thought the defense would be awesome and the O line would be our struggle but it’s been the opposite so far . O line looks great and defense looks troubling .
