Half Of The Milk Cartons Gone

September 6th, 2015

milk cartonLast year, Joe deemed fifth-round picks of offensive linemen Kadeem Edwards and Kevin Pamphile the “Milk Cartons” because they were missing in action. Joe can’t remember one single block either made.

Edwards was hurt last year and didn’t play in any regular season games. Pamphile’s greatest play, from what Joe can remember, was allowing a key sack on Josh McClown that helped seal the Chase for Jameis.

Well, today, half of the Milk Cartons is gone. With the Bucs claiming five players off waivers, the Bucs had to make room for them and Edwards was one of the cuts. The only other key names were camp meat Reid Fragel and rookie wide receiver Rannell Hall. Tight end Cameron Brate and linebacker Jason Williams rounded out the cuts.

I really like the fact that we can move on from draft picks that don’t work out….sure, you want all your picks to be great….but being realistic…it’s a crapshoot from rounds 5-7……Hanging onto a poor choice just compounds the problem….

@Joe or any or our stats geeks. I’m looking at you LuvmyBucs!

Has anybody done the actual math yet? What % of the 2015 Bucs are new?
% wise how much did we turn over our 2014 roster?

  3. BuccaneEric75 Says:

    Hall😢

  4. John McKillop Says:

@BuccaneEric75, I like Hall as well, practice squad maybe?

  5. theodore Says:

    The Bears claimed Omameh.

Licht reeling in Griffin was brilliant…spent the last 2 years under Sean stealing pain meds from the team doctors Peyton…Hello week 2.

  7. Tom Edrington Says:

I don’t believe that this team is ready to play.

  8. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Buccane75 I liked Hall also but I think the thought of Humphries converting so many timely third downs relieves the sting of losing Hall a little. Humphries type don’t come with a lot of flash they’re just so d@$! fundamentally sound. He’ll creep up on so many this season.

  9. John McKillop Says:

Steelers just cut defensive end Anthony Chickillo and hoping he clears waivers so they can put him on practice squad. Anyone know anything about him.

  10. Stanglassman Says:

Lots of us had the Bucs picking Anthony Chickillo late in the draft. He played in a 3-4 def at Miami but prefers 4-3 who played it well in the East West Shrine game. It wouldn’t surprise me at all it the Bucs liked him enough to snag him off waivers.

  11. Buccfan37 Says:

The Steelers must be pitiful on defense, having given up over 500 yards in each of their last two preseason games against the Bills and then the Panthers. The Pats should smoke them next Thursday.

  12. Nuc if u Buc Says:

Shoulda kept Hall, doubt he makes it through waivers, could end up back with Bortles in Jax, he is better then Hump… But the Bucs needed to give the fans their great white hope… Bad move

  13. BuccaneEric75 Says:

I like Hall, but I would have been devastated if they cut Humphries. He showed a lot more than Hall IMO.

  14. Nuc if u Buc Says:

Then you didn’t follow camp & preseason very much, Hope he clears waivers back to us…

  15. DefenseRules Says:

Don’t get L&L’s rationale for grabbing a third QB (Griffin) at this point, unless perhaps they’ve got a really hot trade to get a starting OLineman for Mike Glennon in the works.

Also don’t get picking up 2 LBs yet only 1 DE and 1 OLineman, then letting go of Jason Williams, a very good special teams player and decent LB backup I thought.

But hey, time will tell …

  16. unbelievable Says:

    Agreed Nuc,

Hall showed much more. Humphries just looked better in game 4.

  17. Mo_Downs Says:

Again, we seem to be a couple of cans short of a 6-pack on both sides of the ball.

Do we really have enough quality “NFL-ready” players on the roster to compete with ANYONE…???

I really feel bad for the team at this point. Every team has the same amount of money to work with. So, what gives?

Why can’t we find a couple of decent OL and DE’s to be competitive.
Why aren’t they on the roster from Day 1 of OTA/TC so they’ll be up to speed for the start of the RS.

Is the rest of our 2015 RS schedule filled with teams that have multi-positional gaping holes on their rosters?

Looking at the waiver wire I’m starting to think that rookies and UDF players aren’t being developed at all. IMHO, the NFL needs a farm system.
There are just too many scrubs and not enough quality players.

    OK, rant over………

Lmao like bucs care about keeping white guys. Dumb post..

Wow Brent. Everybody here gets sick when we have to call out racism. But what the hell else is that post. Glad I’m not in your freaking sick head.

Your effing brain dead if you think ANYBODY in the NFL cares about anything but their own jobs and that requires winning, which requires the best players available regardless of color.

They don’t have to be enlightened to not not be racist like you..just pragmatic..oh and unlike you they need a semblance of a brain!!!

  20. DB55 Says:

    Mo downs

    Ditto!

  21. Lakeland Buc Says:

I like Howard Jones , but he’s on the practice squad. He should be on the roster, fighting for the SAM position. He won’t be on the practice squad for long, we are already paying him the league minimum salary. I’m thinking Lovie will convert him to DE, he’s 6’2 1/2 240 lbs with long arms. He has 4.5 speed, a high motor player. Who knows how to get to the QB.

  22. Bobby Says:

@St,PeteBucsFan…..how in the hell did you get racism out of Brent’s post???
He was just commenting on Nuc if you Buc’s post. You sounded like Al Sharpton or something. A too little sensitive maybe? Geez…..

  23. Bobby Says:

    ‘a little too’ ^^^

  24. Brent Says:

@st pete bucs fan your repeating what I just said?? Except I did it in 2 sentences.. Wtf??
