Donovan Smith Has A Knee Injury

September 30th, 2015
Knee injury.

Knee injury.

Bucs coach Lovie Smith informed the Tampa Bay pen and mic club minutes ago starting left tackle Donovan Smith has a knee injury.

Smith, unavailable to media during open locker room earlier, did not practice today and Lovie stated for a player not to be able to practice, the injury is “significant.”

As usual, Lovie was coy about the injury and did not rule out Smith returning to practice tomorrow.

Joe isn’t sure how one can have a “significant” injury and only miss one practice, but that’s just Joe.

Houston played with two backup tackles and dominated the Bucs DLine. Let’s see if we can do that.

  2. Hawk Says:

    @ NewTampaChris
How do you propose that the Bucs acquire Houstons’ two backup tackles? :^)

  3. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Here we go again with another one of Lovie’s mysterious injury reports. Nothing like keeping the opposition on their toes about a rookie LT. He sure is messing with the minds of the Panthers!!!! They are probably in a frenzy trying to figure out who to game plan for.

  4. 813bucboi Says:

damn..i was wondering why we promoted reid fragel…he played well in preseason..we’ll see but damn..thats a huge lose if smith cant go…GO BUCS!!!

  5. DCBUCFAN Says:

lol @ hawaiian Buc. Atleast Raheem’s expressions were all “tweaks”. Boy this vegas oddsmakers sure do look like genius now with their Bucs total win over/under .smh

  6. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

Shouldn’t Dotson be coming back soon??

  7. Bucs Fan #7423 Says:

Jared Allen is going to have a field day

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Leave it to TBBF to look for a silver lining….maybe Pamphile will be better!!!

  9. passthebuc Says:

except for about 6 players, the whole team are of the backup variety.

  10. OneLove Says:

Lovie Smith is trying to let ya’ll know the KNEE is going to be the reason why Jared Allen has 7 sacks this weekend!

“It’s as simple as that” – Lovie Smith aka “DAMN IM GOOD”

  11. Seminole Bill Says:

Kevin Pamphile is shown on the depth chart as backup. If the injury is short-term we should not see a letdown…….I hope

  12. Buccfan37 Says:

Lovie didn’t say when and how the injury occured? Is it a old injury aggravated? Shh, it’s a secret. Tight lipped lovie, where is the swollen lip look of Lovie?

  13. Buccfan37 Says:

This is all depressing ain’t it? I know I’m part of it too. The Bucs need to put what they have that is good together and produce another division win this Sunday. It is not out of the realm of possibility to expect the unexpected. Winning changes everything.

  14. Architek Says:

What would Lovie do if no media showed up to listen to his rhetoric???

I’m sure he’d probably smile but get the message he’s uninformative, is secrets don’t help him win and his defense wreaks!

  15. bucsbedabest Says:

What’s up with a rookie getting injured? I like what passthebuc says, the whole team is the back-up variety! Yea..its Kevin Pamphile’s turn. I think we know how that is going to go? If we are lucky Donovan Smith will not get his job back.

  16. Matt Says:

You’re all foolish if you think we are better off without him . He’s probably the best Rookie LT in the NFL right now . His injury is devastating . Pamphile or fragels turn I guess . When does Dotson come back? Cherilous is playing fantastic too when they’re all healthy we will have 4-5 starting caliber OTs . That’s a very good thing going into next season.

  17. Stanglassman Says:

I’m willing to bet the injury came from the tacky turf in Houston. This is why they cut Mike James so they could promote Fragel from the P.S. .

  18. Jason McLaurin Says:

Yeah hes clearly not a tackle in the league and this injury proves it as well folks. The speed is not there for him to play the tackle spot. He’ll sit out on Sunday it sounds like him being a rookie. I’m interested to see what Pamphile can do too. If he succeeds the or plays better than D. Smith then expect a position change quickly for D. Smith and it is much advised and being overlooked to much to me. PUT D. SMITH AT RIGHT GUARD AS A STARTER ASAP. MARPET IS A BEAST SO YOU CAN LET MANKINS GO TOO. ###play4WINStonfight4LOViE
