Michael Clayton, Motivational Speaker

August 15th, 2015

Speaking to college football teams.

Joe understands fully how Bucs fans want to know the current comings and goings of Bucs past, including one of the most popular wide receivers in recent memory, the blocking icon, Michael Clayton.

Clayton, a former first round pick out of LSU, showed significant promise his rookie season, but steady deteriorated because he couldn’t catch a cold the ball. At all.

But then he began to make a name for himself as a blocker. In fact, he was re-signed to a pricey contract for the sole reason he could block. Joe always likened that to signing an offensive linemen only because he can catch a pass.

Clayton eventually won a ring with the Giants and it appears he is now making a career as a motivational speaker. Recently, Florida State University released a list of motivational speakers scheduled to offer advice and guidance to the football team. And among the names Jimbo Fisher lined up is Clayton.

The subject at hand for Clayton’s talk? “Practice Habits.”

Joe just hopes that Fisher, for the sake of the professional future of his wide receivers, has Clayton discuss more blocking than catching.
