Andrew Luck Threw Three Picks

August 6th, 2015
Andrew Luck threw three picks yesterday. What a freaking bum, huh?

Andrew Luck threw three picks in practice  yesterday. What a freaking bum, huh?

Joe finds it amusing that some Bucs fans, and national media types, are wringing their hands because “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, has thrown some picks in practices.

Three Sunday and Tuesday, and two of his first three passes were interceptions.

Two days ago, Joe brought word from former NFL general manager Charley Casserly, now of NFL Network, that stats in training camp are pretty much useless.

Now this brings us to Andrew Luck. Joe just loves watching Luck, who may be the best quarterback since Joe Montana. He’s so enjoyable to watch that Joe gets a tingly sensation over his body, not unlike when Rachel Watson used to walk by Joe at training camp.

As much as Joe thinks Jameis is the real deal, if somehow, someway, Jim Irsay got back on the sauce and decided to trade Luck to the Bucs, Joe would petition the Vatican that Bucs AC/DC-loving general manager Jason Licht be pushed for sainthood status.

As freaking good as Luck is, there was stunning news by way of the Indianapolis Star. Luck threw three picks in practice yesterday.

Can you imagine?

The picks came during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills. And Joe is going to guess the Colts were not embroiled in the campaign of “Operation Rattle Andrew.”

Naturally, the way some fret over Jameis and his picks, this Luck will turn out to be a downright bum.

So please folks, don’t stress over training camp practice stats.

So what you’re saying is, Marcus Mariota is already better than Andrew Luck

  2. Tiny Tim Says:

That is because Mariota is also better than Luck lol

  3. The Buc Realist Says:

    @Joe

you are missing the point. Jamies is throwing picks against lovie’s defense!!! For Andrew Luck to equal that , Luck would have to throw 12 Int!!!

This is not about the QB’s but about lovie’s passive defense!!!

  4. Lord Cornelius Says:

Time to cut him and look to the 2016 draft for their franchise QB. Colts D isn’t even good so he’s probably the worst NFL QB as of training camp practice 5. Training camp is EVERYTHING

  5. Buc1987 Says:

The sky is falling….the sky is falling.

    Mariota Clingers unite!

  6. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Joe stop it you know Animosity Amigos like Realist!! Get a little sensitive when you bring up they’re beloved Andrew Luck.

  7. Hawaiian Buc Says:

When Realist gets on something, he wears it out like no other. Gotta give him credit for being persistent.

  8. OAR Says:

If Luck was a rookie this year and had a problem with interceptions in his last year of college, then yes, it would be an issue/concern to his Colts fans too! But, he’s not and didn’t…..what’s your point again?
BTW stressing and being concerned over Winston are two different things. I could care less what Mariota is doing in Tennessee! Mariota could have thrown the same number of interceptions and I would still be concerned about OUR quarterback.

  9. Buc1987 Says:

Realist is being as real as he can be, like always. Definitely one of my favorite posters. Showing no enthusiasm for the upcoming season, because the proof is in the pudding. Until the pudding looks and tastes great, he’s keeping it real.

No problems here. It only took me about 2 years to get used to him though.lol

  10. Tampabaybucfan Says:

I think the name for Realist is Pessi-realist. What a grump!!!

  11. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Now…here is the question…..has our defense improved?……all the picks….

  12. NoBucsGiven Says:

It’s ridiculous how much people are making a big deal of this. There was a report where he was quizzing Timmy wright about Brady and how Brady fits balls into small windows. How will Jameis get to that point if he doesn’t “test” NFL speeds. This IS the time to throw pics so he knows how much sauce to put on his ball and when to tuck it in. He knows why his hits didn’t work as well which shows there’s a deeper level to his mistakes. This is a good thing….

  13. Tiny Tim Says:

Idiots do not get credit Hawaiian buc, they get pitied. I mean the first and only time Lovie’s D was called passive was when a 1st round bust by the name of Mark barron was traded and that was his excuse going out the door. Anyone who wants to collaborate/agree with a bust who was simply making excuses for how sorry he was must be an idiot. Its as simple as that!!!

  14. Joe Says:

    Now…here is the question…..has our defense improved?……all the picks….

Joe is leaning, yes. Alterraun Verner is a different player (better). Linebackers are flying around.

  15. Coburn Says:

Think the real reason people made a big deal out of it is because he was known for throwing lots of picks in his final year and that was his biggest concern ON THE FIELD. Sure you can have a bit of a different perspective on it, but you also can’t completely dismiss it. He threw picks like crazy in his final year in college and is starting out in a similar fashion, do we not have a right to have some concern? It may turn out ok, but to justify it or sweep it under the rug… I dunno. Can we just stop defending or making excuses for him before he has even started an NFL game? The season hasn’t even started.. just wait and see. I am still one of the few who thinks Mariota will be better, but I hope I’m wrong

  16. Buc1987 Says:

I’ll stick up for Realist before I’ll stick up Lovie.

  17. Eric Says:

I expect him to throw picks dung the season, but also make some awesome throws.

Just like he has in practice.

Not an excuse, just reality as he learns.

But while he learns he is going to get on some hot streaks and burn some folks, IMO.

Well see, but it is hilarious all the folks dreaming of his failure.

    So called bucs fans too………

  18. Buccfan37 Says:

Lovie has too much security around him to do that.

    ——————————–

Can we stop pressing the panic button over practice? In your own words, he hasn’t even started an NFL game. It works both ways chief. Oh, and by your one sided comments it was obvious you are a Mariota lover. There was no need to disclose that. The bottom line is Winston is a Buc. Deal with it!!!

  20. DavidbigBucsFan Says:

HawaiianBuc surrealist is persistent like a wood tick. His hatred of Lovie Smith goes beyond football. He’s one those statiticians who try to use stats to support his dislike Lovie but the same stats do not give good enough clarity to the picture he and his ‘AnimosityAmigos’ (lol Nole) try to paint. Lovie is not this bad coach they try to make him out to be. It does not matter if we have the top rated defense and we win the super bowl they will NEVER EVER EVER EVER like him as our coach. They’d rather have Bellicheat or the blowhard Rex Ryan. Wouldn’t want Mike Tomlin tht
ough. Probably give all Tomlins credit to his other coaches or the owners.

  21. Bucco Brice Says:

definite concern…pressure triggering his panic button? …ball security better be drilled into his head or we are going nowhere…

  22. Hawaiian Buc Says:

I’ve learned through the years that you can’t put too much stock into practice. You can’t even put too much stock into the preseason. If I remember correctly, McClown looked pretty damn good in training camp last year. You really don’t know what to expect. You don’t know until its for real. Can’t wait for the regular season!

  23. Bman Says:

Preseason is preseason, I just find it funny that every Glennon pass that was off target, wobbled or was intercepted was definitely pointed out by the authors of these articles as significant. Did something change since last year? Keep on doing what you do. We do enjoy reading anything Buc! Go Bucs!

  24. Buc1987 Says:

Bucco Brice…4-6 wins tops no matter what JW does or does not.

  25. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

So you’ve finally come out in the open 87,I can respect you better now. I know where you stand in reference to my head coach. I hope when the winning begins you all maintain your current sentiment of him. And trust me,with the way the D is flying around all signs point to a$$ kickin being I the way. Couple that with the phenom under center. It pleases me you and then will be cringing on the inside for quite some time.

  26. The Buc Realist Says:

Jameis Winston – Rookie, Unknown quantity, Never has stepped on an NFL Field during a game, High potential but has done nothing in the NFL.

Lovie Smith – Vet Head Coach, did a horrible job last year. was a 2-14 coach! has a low ceiling! can only win with a superior talented football team. cannot outscheme other coaches or find winning matchups! will not adjust game plane and schemes (unless it is a year later)!!!

  27. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    @Bman,

I have yet to see anything to back up your claims. I’ve read numerous times about great throws by Glennon in practice. Not only on this site, but on many others. You can’t just make a claim because it feels like the right thing to say. Go back and check the training camp notes, and show me proof otherwise.

Besides, Glennon is a third round pick that has played about like a third round pick (at best). There’s nothing to get excited for with him. If he were that great, teams would be lining up for him. He didn’t have the high school or college career of Jameis. He’s not getting anyone’s hopes up. Therefore, he’s not judged the same way. You can complain that it’s not fair all you want, but it’s just reality.

  28. Couch Fan Says:

Lovie but the same stats do not give good enough clarity to the picture he and his ‘AnimosityAmigos’ (lol Nole) try to paint. Lovie is not this bad coach they try to make him out to be. —————————————–

Incorrect. So far Incompetent Lovie is 2-14. That is worst in the league awful. It doesnt matter what he did in Chicago. So far he has sucked coaching and personnell evaluating for the Bucs. You can celebrate him all you want but until he proves to be competent and can coach a winning team here in Tampa, most who aren’t blind faithfuls will continue to call him out, and have every right to. Now you may continue with your belief that Incompetent Lovie can do no wrong. GO BUCS!!!

  29. Keepitreal Says:

    Winston will be great.

  30. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

I hear you Realist!! Everyone entitled to an opinion, one of us unfortunately is about to be made to look silly once this season starts here shortly. But it’s not you that I wanna rap wit right now I know where stand and think I have a good understanding as to why you and the rest of the Animosity Amigos don’t like my head coach. That’s cool I get it no biggie bro. You alright wit me regardless. My question is for 87 and I don’t attach Animosity Amigos caues you’re a Nole. But what I find interesting is that last week you said starting McCown was the tank. But this week you sound like the Amigos on some poor coaching by Lovie Smith stuff. Which is it,seems like to me you straddling both sides of the fence.

  31. Jacko101 Says:

Luck vs Winston….. So comparable lol (sarcasm)

  32. BucsRokk26 Says:

SMDH…I really have to question whether some of you are actually Bucs fans. Some of the BS here is ridiculous! I mean really hoping your first round pick fails and calling him a bust before he has even taken a NFL snap, hoping the backup QB has success with another team, hoping the defense sucks so they can fire yet another coach and start over AGAIN? Beginning of Year two in a rebuild and you guys are ready to burn it down again!?!?! Wow…

  33. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

Rokk26 all these folks are not fans. Many pose as fans but in truth really hate this team. They’ll never say that because they’re pair isn’t big enough but if you read they’re words everyday one can clearly read between the lines.

  34. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

But I get questioned as to why I go in on some sometime. If you worked along side me at my job and you talked negatively about a team I have a passion for then we would battle all day every d@$! day. That’s why I attack God d@$$!#t.

  35. Couch Fan Says:

Lol Just because you call something truth doesnt make it truth. There is no criteria that says you have to be all rahrah to be a fan. We are allowed to have opinions, even if its negative. Especially when you are the worst in the league at what you do, which Lovie is. His record last year indicates it and his game day coaching did nothing to disprove it. But keep crying and telling us how bad of fans we are. It’s rather enjoyable.

Btw, the Noles suck. GO Bucs!!

  36. Idontwannahearitanymore Says:

Luck is going to be a bust!

  37. Leonard Scarnesi Says:

If Luck or Jameis had been a quarterback JOE doesn’t particularly like, or whom JOE has criticized in the past, JOE would be up at arms and hypercritical of said quarterback. JOE is a hypocrite just like JOE’s good friend on the afternoon drive time radio show. JOE isn’t as bad as the “Dean” quite yet, but JOE is rapidly approaching his level of hypocrisy.

  38. The Other Side of the Coin Says:

Saying you’ll wait until the’re is proof that Winston can play well is like buying yesterday’s winning lottery numbers. What insight is that?

  39. vegabuc Says:

So… “The Bucs Realist”. I came late to the message board, yet I find your comment about jameis throwing picks against the Bucs D and not the Colts D amusing from you. Since when the Colts have an elite defense? You do the research Mr Realist. Nevertheless I couldn’t agree with Joe more when he points out that nobody should worry about training camp stats. I know that Luck is a supper specially talented qb , and that winston is a rook. But let the man grow into an nfl quarterback before we are worried about his training camp picks. Just saying Mr Realist. Go Bucs!

  40. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

I wasn’t talking to you Animosity Amigos couch. But since your here what’s good wit you bro?

  41. Couch Fan Says:

Dinner is really good and waiting to hear how practice was today. Can’t wait til next saturday!!

  42. Pawel Says:

Wow, Titans defense didn’t get a INT in 6 practices of a rookie QB
I think bucs score 56pts game one?
