Mike Glennon Was Behind Gassers?
June 9th, 2015Last week, Joe brought word of “America’s Quarterback,” Bucs signal-caller Jameis Winston, running gassers with the offensive linemen in OTA practice.
Led by barbecue pitmaster Logan Mankins, the veteran guard was having his fellow linemen sprint after every mental error.
Soon, Jameis joined in with the linemen as they paid their penance.
The feedback on this story blew Joe away, the most Joe could remember receiving. It was overwhelming.
Apparently, there is another side to the story Joe wasn’t aware of. In a stand-up with Casey Phillips of Buccaneers.com, the subject of running gassers with the offensive linemen came up and Jameis busted out laughing. He also let out a secret, unless Jameis was fibbing: the concept of Jameis running with the offensive linemen was hatched by someone else.
“Those big guys, man. Those big guys need support so you have to run with them,” Jameis said. “Actually Mike came up with the idea for us to run three gassers, so that was fun.”
Now Jameis neither specified who “Mike” is, nor was he asked who “Mike” is. Joe is guessing quarterback of the past and quarterback of the future but not quarterback of the present Mike Glennon is the mysterious “Mike,” but it could be quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian (Joe has only been around Jameis a few times but he never heard Jameis refer to a coach by his first name).
So it appears either Jameis is embarrassed (which he shouldn’t be) or doesn’t want to look like he his forcing himself upon his team, or Jameis is being real and doesn’t want to take undue credit for a stand-up act.
Either way, Joe likes it, whoever concocted the idea.

Word. Who cares who’s idea it was. ‘Mike’ didn’t run them.

i’m starting to want mike glennon to play just so he can show why we drafted a quarterback with the first pick. worst case scenario is he sucks and we give Winston time to come in and shine since no one thinks we’ll be good anyway…best case scenario is if they think we are truly a playoff team then start the veteran see if he can lead us to wins, I doubt it but in all fairness glennon should atleast get the start and see if he can get his trade value up because they wont hold on to the guy if they can get a 2nd or 3rd round pick for a backup

Key is that Jameis DID run them
and it was WITH his Offensive Line
Sharing the experience and pain

Buc4lyfe I kinda like your idea, but if that marita guy ends up being the titans opening day starter I absolutely need Jamies on the field from start to finish in that game.

Glennon was behind the running. That’s a gasser! How did he lift those cement block feet to keep up? Forget about staying within the track lanes, he was probably stumbling outside the lines before reaching the gasser finish line.

Easy with the slow joke 37.. Glennon ran a faster 40 than Savior Winston did at tge combine. Just saying..

Really, can’t you tell that I am being facetious? That’s how I counter the anti MGM mob.

Waiting for the usual cast of characters to chime in with a “heartless” poke at Glennon because one time in 2014 he didn’t run for an extra yard…smh

ToesOnTheLine!
Every man has a character defining moment. 8’s true character was defined in that moment like it or not. Plays like that are why bucs players were texting the gm to draft Winston.

Manzell loving Joe really doesn’t have any room to throw the same tired old boring barb at Mankins.
So what was your Tmaxcon. I suppose since you show no character our here I guess you haven’t had one.
Or maybe you think because you are a character, you have some.
As Harvey Keithel’s character said in Pulp Fiction, they are two different entities.

Heaven forbid someone else besides “America’s Magic Crab Legs” comes up with something positive on the Bucs.

Game time….who is the gamer!

@ tmaxcon
That was YOUR “defining moment” of Glennon. MY defining moment of Glennon was when he threw the winning TD IN Pittsburgh, beating a team the Bucs had NEVER beaten on their home turf.
Glass half full, glass half empty, or glass improperly designed. Everyone has an opinion, but no one’s is right for everyone.

Then there is the heartless run down at the one yard line from behind. One yard. 36 inches! I mean you are that close you must have no heart to finish it off.
