Joey Iosefa Highlights

May 2nd, 2015

Joey Iosefa

Marcus Mariota, who many Bucs fans wanted to draft, was a speedy Hawaiian. Instead, with their last pick in the 2015 draft, the Bucs drafted a slower than slow player in Hawaii.

Joey Iosefa, a running back from Hawaii, posted the slowest time of any running back in the combine at 5.02. Below are his highlights.

  1. Mr. T Says:

Ran 4.8 at pro day. Missed quite a few games due to foot injuries the last 2 years but has run for some big yardage games when healthy. long shot but worth a flyer.

  2. MR_T_5150 Says:

He also is the heaviest FB in the draft weighing in at 247lbs. (according to NFL.com)

  3. Pa Privateer Says:

He is more of a RB than FB. I was watching his highlight videos and the dude does well picking up blocks in the back field. He has quick feet and great balance. Was a QB in high school. He will make the roster because of his versatility. Run, block, catch, and special teams. Love those Samoans!!!!!

  4. Ekko90 Says:

Oh man am I excited about this pick! Buds fans we have in the works of another Al Stott!!!! I’m excited about this team and the direction it’s going! Lets get em Joey!

  5. Name Required Says:

Alstott was faster than that, I’m sure.

  6. Nole on Sat.-Bucc on Sun. Says:

PA privateer survey says correct 5000 dollas. This guy will make this team.

  7. Buc Neckid Says:

At least the BUCS drafted one Hawaiian

  8. alanbucs Says:

Joe, he is 247LBS, how fast do you think he was going to be? Looks like a good runner and blocker though. Worth a shot. Go Bucs!

  9. RCS Says:

Say what you want about his 40 time the dude is a load and runs with more power than every back on the roster right now combined.

  10. Buc-Naked Says:

Alstott ran a 4.66 in the 40. But, I have to say…every run in the highlight reel reminded me of Alstott!

  11. MarineBucsFan Says:

Love the highlights. This guy is a strong physical runner, this guy could sustain drives for us. I want to run the ball on 3rd and short, as well as be confident we can pick up a 4th and 1 in certain situations.

  12. Oahubuc Says:

He’s a beast. Definitely my favorite UH player.

  13. FortMyersDave Says:

Big kid, he was suspended for a few games in 2014 for a DUI but as long as he uses a designated driver here in Tampa I suspect that the kid will be a great asset in those short yard situations. He will be one of those punishing runners that the D will grow weary of tackling; a lot like the A-train….

  14. It's a Bucs Life Says:

    Looks solid in pass pro

  15. Please Says:

Looks like Lagarette Blount except against teams I’ve never heard of.

  16. Atlbuc28 Says:

Alstott clone! ….or at least 2.0.. lol hopefully! love this years draft!

  17. Dan Says:

never heard of usc or colorado?

he sucks at blocking, he tries to tackle everyone he blocks, goes head first half the time.

the couple of times he used his hands and set up his block he over extended and about got bent double (stopped moving his feet)

  18. MadMax Says:

Looks like a good power back for our short yardage situations.

  19. Owlykat Says:

He will be forced to compete at Full Back and I doubt he has done much blocking. He also is a straight ahead runner. Now if he had the moves of our reveared All Pro FB of the past this would be a good pick, but I will be surprised if he beats out any of the other FB candidates with the possible exception of Cameron Brate. Now a smart pick would have been a top punter so we could replace our very overpaid kicker who only averaged 41 yards a kick. We could have used that cap space.

Watched him play the last few years at UH. Joey is a beast. So long as he stays healthy he definitely can contribute.
