Today’s Inactive Buccaneers

Wow! Michael Johnson will not play against the Falcons today.
Joe wonders whether this is a benching. Johnson has been lousy this season, and that’s being kind. Sure, he’s nursed an ankle issue since Week 1, but he was effective after that in Pittsburgh and practiced this week.
Newcomer DE Jacqueis Smith has shown life off the edge, and he’ll likely get the start in place of Johnson today.
Will anyone out there miss Johnson? Here’s the full list of today’s inactive Buccaneers:

WR Robert Herron
DE Michael Johnson
RB Doug Martin
TE Luke Stocker
CB Alterraun Verner
Collins, 29, will miss his second consecutive game with a bad foot, always a tough injury on a big offensive linemen. Keep in mind he’s never started more than seven games in a season through his career.

Losing Verner is the bad one. All the others won’t really be missed, as their backups appear to be better anyway. Verner hasn’t been great by any stretch, but he’s still our best cb.

Sometimes when you play like he has
someone else gets a chance to show what they can do and then
you don’t get your job back
He certainly left the door open for that situation
If he gets another chance-he better bring it big time

Good.
Let him rest up. We need him healthy long term. Not the rest of our rebuilding year.
I know he has been playing hurt all season. He needs rest.
I like this decision.

They should add stipulations to these big FA contracts that if you suck or not half as good as you say you are you get a reduction in pay. Whoever pulled the trigger on the deal gets docked some pay too. Maybe that will help correct our FA mess.

He has that “what chu talkin bout Willis” look on his face. Reports out of One Buc say that Johnson is inactive because he forgot his cleats, pads, helmet etc… Oh wait only football players wear that.

Lovie gave everyone a shot at wearing big boy pants, they were too big for a few of the boys, so they are now “watching” how men play.
