Goodbye, Anthony Gaitor

May 14th, 2014

An endangered species, aka a Raheem Morris-era holdover, was jettisoned today by the Buccaneers.

Cornerback Anthony Gaitor, who drew very loud on-field rage from Greg Schiano, was ousted.

Signed to replace him was free agent long snapper candidate Andrew DePaola, a Rutgers guy who was in Bucs camp last year.

Gaitor was a 2011 seventh-round pick. His greatest accomplishment might have been being consistently better than Myron Lewis, which doesn’t say much.

Gaitor was on injured reserve last season but is healthy now. Joe wishes Gaitor well.

Thoght Gaitor could pan out but in this system you need a little stronger corners that can hit
