Put me in the category of giving Schiano a chance to turn it around. But I also think his tough guy routine won’t work, but not because of that in and of itself. I think he will fail if he keeps running this pathetic offense.

  2. MadMax Says:

Eventually those who dont see it yet will come around……just like when I was fed up with freefree with only a few other posters here….finally that cancer was cut.

And after this current series of problems is continued with adding more fuel to the fire, eventually, the big picture opens up for those stuck with tunnel vision.

  3. Ryan Says:

I say give Jay Gruden a shot to run this team. He’s shown he knows how to run an effective offense, and I still feel like talent wise, the Bucs skill players are better than the Bengals on the offensive side of the ball. Plus, the Bengals can put up enough points to win games! Shocking concept, and I believe they may have actually scored in the 2nd half so he knows how to adjust his strategy, big plus in my eyes. Too bad we have 11 more weeks of hell and speculation 🙁 Sad panda…

I’m in favor of giving Schiano another year if he turns things around this year…but I have to admit that idea intrigues me. Too bad he’s alread the OC there…because ideally having him replace Sully would be even better.

Schiano has made some mistakes but he is building a good team here. If he wasn’t the whole team would be bad. Obviously the defense is getting better.

It’s the offense that is the issue. That’s Sullivan’s area of expertise. I would like to see him replaced before Schiano, just to see the results. Peter King himself said Schiano is well respected by the more elite coaches and he feels Greg should have at least 3 years here. I agree.

  6. Architek Says:

He’s gone after this year because the players aren’t buying in and don’t trust him. He’s the second of three that needs to be gone. Freeman is gone and now Schiano and Dominik needs to go – after the season, which is a failure, is over!

Doug Gottlieb is a cow tail licker. He’s not a football guy. He’s a basketball guy. When he fills in for Colin Cowherd, or Mike & Mike, all he talks about is basketball. Thank f@ck he doesn’t work for BSPN any more. Loserville IMO. I hate it when people say, firing a coach mid season doesn’t help any. How about team morale? Having a hard nosed boss with no results kills team morale. That’s just the way it works. However on the other side of the coin, a hard nosed boss with results will raise team morale.

  8. Drew Says:

Nothing has been written about the players not trusting him.

  9. Harry Says:

Shitzano has no job security. My guess is it would take a record of at least 8-8, which means he would have to go 8-3 to finish out, after having gone 0-5. That would put him in Ripley’s Believe It Or Not.

Hate is usually driven by fear…..those that hate Schiano want him gone now….I think they fear he might turn it around enough to hang in there.
As long as the team appears to be with him and there is development with younger players and there is positive momentum….he will remain.
If he is to be fired, it should be after the season or at the very end of the season.

  11. Mr. Patrick Says:

If you fire a coach mid-season you still get more of the same because you then hire an interim coach from the same staff and you still have the same players and play systems. Plus you can’t interview coaches from other team’s staffs until the end of the season. We are just gonna have to ride this season out fellow Buc fans

I am not in favor of giving Schitzano another year, and my reason has nothing to do with the Bucs record or discord. What I see in Schitzano that I do not like is I believe he is very stubborn to his way and does not learn from his mistakes. That trait is good only to a degree – one has to adhere to their principles to be successful, but it is a fine line to cross over to failure.

He stubbornly refuses to give up attacking the Victory formation when down less than one score; he goes ultra conservative at the end of close games and ultimately looses them (0-6); his use of Revis appears off at times; I don’t feel Blount got a fair shake, nor any other aback up RB – we are running Martin into the ground; can we add Bowers to this list – Schitzano firmly believed he would be a 10 sack guy (did he not see Bowers was not in shape?), etc.

This is enough of a list to me, that if I am paying someone millions to make my team a winner, and he is not adjusting to these errors, he needs to be replaced.

    Drew,
There has been reports about there being trust issues and not buying in

  14. chickster Says:

How could you keep a coach that players simple cant trust and probably have lost respect for and has made a national joke of a tampa bay franchise and i could really care less how many games we win they are meaningless games from here on out and he could not get the job done when it counted next year is next year and if he is here next year it will be the same old talk who’s fault is it and I am done with the bucs and I have been with them since 76 its time to move on to the chiefs baby

  15. BucNasty!!! Says:

Hey tb buct fan yea I have fear alright I fear our loss total will “CONTINUE” to grow… lets see 9 losses year one on pass for double digit losses this year… and I guess he needa a 3rd yrar for the grand prize of 0-16 if he actually showed progression your opinion eouldnt b so asinine but… dennis green said it best u are what wr thought u are and he’s turned us into losers…. we are now considered n the same class as the jaguars an if thats not enough to earrent a change some one please walk me up to the old apple tree wit a couple shells an just tell my folks I moved outa town an joined the circus…hell thats gotta b better then believing a 0-5 1-10 coach would miraculously just become a perrenial powrrhouse winner and produce wins…thats ehat this talented undercoached swuad needs
