“No Excuse”

December 9th, 2012

Thank you Jeremy Zuttah.

Speaking on the Buccaneers Radio Network after today’s embarrassment to the Eagles, the Bucs’ left guard said there was “no excuse” for the Bucs’ ugly performance on offense in the first half. Zuttah was clear that getting shutout in the first 30 minutes was unacceptable and puzzling.

Frankly, there was no excuse. But there are reasons, from bad handoff exchanges to high throws to Josh Freeman passing on open running lanes for himself to not looking like a hungry playoff team.

What’s scary to Joe is the Bucs likely will have to score 35 points to win next week in New Orleans. Joe certainly wouldn’t touch that bet right now.

    Yes
And wtf is up with triple fake handoffs/Play action???

  2. Patrick Says:

Joe I just sent you an e-mail. I would appreciate it if you gave me your opinion on my assessment 🙂

  3. BucFan20 Says:

Even worse. The Panthers beat the Falcons. So how good is this team???

  4. Mike J Says:

I didn’t think the effort was there in the 1st H, especially on offense, especially from the offensive line.

When Gruden was 9-3, the DC quit causing the Bucs to lose the final 4 games. Jon got fired.

When Morris was 4-2, the team quit in England causing the Bucs to lose the final 10 games. Raheem got fired.

When Schiano was 6-4, something happened causing the Bucs to possibly lose the final 6 games. Does Greg get fired?

Chip Kelly is available and owes the Bucs big time for reneging on his contract.

  6. SilenceTheCritics Says:

Shut up with chip kelly already. That gimmick offense wont work in the NFL. He’s not coming here give it up already.

  7. 507 Bucs fan Says:

Firing Schiano is just stupid. He’s given this team accountability and fundamentals not like raheem the dream. I Believe in schiano, I don’t believe in our cbs and qb.

  8. Patrick Says:

@Miguel……..Schiano was the best thing to happen to this team in the offseason…..you’re an idiot.

  9. Miguel El Magnifico Says:

Nobody has ever described the Little General as a genius, smart or even innovative.

He’s always characterized as hard assed, hardheaded, stubborn or obstinate.

I don’t think he’s head coaching material. I believe he would make an excellent special teams coach.

Kelly’s offense put up 63 points on NFL legend Monte Kiffin. Monte doesn’t have a clue on how to slow them down. USC has the best college players money can buy.

Shiano lost this game by running on 3rd and 8 and putting the defense on the field…….he is still a great coach and glad he is here……

  11. KT Says:

Schiano believes in this defense when there is nothing past lavontae David to believe in. The secondary is a shambles right now and the arrogance of the current regime to not address this issue will be the downfall for the rest of the year. I agree running on 3rd and believing in a defense that is last in pass defense is not a good strategy. It is what it is. We can pump the Merits of these young CB’s like Johnson and Gaitor for a good play here and there but they as a unit have been beat consistently and thoroughly, and our coaches continue to ignore it.
