Sean Baker, See You Later

August 31st, 2012

As a few of Joe’s readers have pointed out, just because you play like a stud in the second half of the final preseason game doesn’t mean you won’t be an accountant the next week.

So it seems to be the case with safety Sean Baker. After picking off two passes and recovering a fumble against the Redskins, it may have been too late for Baker as he was given his walking papers by the Bucs today, so reports the resilient Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune.

Joe will try to keep track of all the comings and goings of the Bucs through the late afternoon. Joe’s dying for a cold beer.

And thank you to all of Joe’s readers for continuing to hit that pesky F5 button!

This is in no way surprising given the competition at his position.

  2. Drew Says:

I think you meant “Joe’s dying for a cold beer”. BTW, appreciate the job you’re doing in keeping us up to date.

  3. FLBoyInDallas Says:

Joe, how dare you take a break? Don’t you know you owe us your every waking moment, man? We need to know if Dominik sneezes or if Schiano changes the room temperature…and we need to know it NOW! 😉

  4. Robbie G Says:

I wish him the best. He will make a practice squad here or else where.

  5. Mcnabb to Barber for 6 Says:

    T. Jax suspended indefinetly. So much talent, what a jackass.

  6. Orlandobucfan Says:

I know the nerve of joe. You should be at your computer with a beer hat so your hands are free to type.

  7. albuc44 Says:

so Canadabuc tells me he thinks shiano is just cleaning house..and i reply this rate Freeman will be traded by mid season or less

  8. Orlandobucfan Says:

Very true but that’s why he’s not apart of the new schiano order. Chalk another for Raheem!!

  9. blackmagic00 Says:

@joe what about us who hit the joebusfan bar because we’re on a phone all of our life?

  10. NJBucsFan Says:

T Jax….a career up in smoke.

In all realness. Seems like this dude has a real issue. I really hope he gets the help he needs.

  11. albuc44 Says:

T jax doesnt need help … he smokes weed…he is just an idiot not a crack head… he has chosen pot head over football player… an idiot who will fade to black.. with all the chances he gotten I doubt they let him come back to NFL

  12. Miguel Grande Says:

The amount of states where weed is legal is 14 and growing. TJax should just play in one of those states and sue the NFL.

  13. Garv Says:

Tannard Jackson could not and can not be relied on. Over and over that has been proven and now his career is done. He’s an addict unwilling and/or unable to work on recovery because there is NO other explanation for this.

Think about it, WHY do you THINK a man would do something like this to himself?

Of course Mr. errr DR. Grandee is blind to all matter that do not include a pipe. And once again his idiocy and clear intentions are on display…….from somewhere outside the 50. Pathetic.

  14. MichiganBucsFan Says:

did not know that F5 refreshed the page until I read this lol

  15. FLBoyInDallas Says:

With Tanard Jackson, once again Dominik is vindicated on a player that was released.

  16. Bob Says:

Ok so let’s cut the guy who made all the plays ,who did we keep the guy who gets burned . Or the old guy, come on piano man put winners on the field.

  17. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

I don’t give a rip about Tanard Jackson…I wanna know our final roster!

  18. Buc this Says:

How smart is Schiano for cutting Jackson now.

  19. OAR Says:

By end of next week you will know the FINAL roster. Im sure we will had a player or two after this weekend and the cuts tonight.

  20. Hawaiian Buc Says:

The NFL can ban whatever the hell they want, it doesn’t have to be illegal.

  21. Booth Says:

Nothing wrong with being an accountant

  22. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

I was hoping Baker would make the team. Maybe he’ll be on PS.

  23. OAR Says:

BTW I agree who cares about Tanard!!

    Dang it, quick draw again!

  24. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

Dis I hear right that the skins cut Willie Smith? That guy might be worth bringing in for depth!

  25. BucFan20 Says:

@OAR. RAH is your answer. Wanted a little revenge to pick off Freeman. That idea went up in smoke. lol.

  26. BigMacAttack Says:

Hey Rah, how’s that discipliney thing working out for ya?

The rate of the leader determines the rate of the pack.

  27. Hawaiian Buc Says:

Stephen Holder just tweeted that we released Underwood. Not sure about that move.

  28. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Dang it, quick draw again!”

I swear, that hardly ever happens!

  29. Machiavelliii Says:

    Tiquan underwood cut according to

  30. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

No Underwood? Guess Stroughter is safe. Although, there are a lot of good WRs coming available…which is why no one should expect a Benn trade.

  31. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

Lions cut stovall. His career likley done.

  32. SensibleBuc Says:

WOW. Underwood has the speed and the size over Sammie. Must be a kick coverage thing.

  33. BigMacAttack Says:

Yeah I liked Underwood too, but it isn’t the end of the world, as long as the Defense can rise up and stay healthy.

  34. FLBoyInDallas Says:

NFL coaches must see something most fans don’t with Underwood, because he’s been cut from the Jags, Pats and now the Bucs. He’s decent but not quite good enough for some reason. I haven’t heard any analyst elaborate on why that might be the case, though.
