“I Wasn’t Happy”

August 2nd, 2012

They love them some Kellen Winslow in Seattle. And Winslow seems joyful too, especially since he says “I wasn’t happy” with the New Schiano Order, in this 710AM podcast out of Seattle. Click the arrow below.

Winslow talks about his health, having fun under Raheem Morris, Bucs fans, and more.

For those who listen, notice in this in-depth conversation how Winslow never talks about winning.

  1. The Dutcher Journal (Pete Dutcher) Says:

I don’t rely care about Winslow. I’m glad he’s gone because he was too much of a Morris guy, but so far as talent we will all miss him if the offense does poorly (which I doubt).

Winslow hated showing up for camps. He liked to train on his own…so of course he hated Schiano’s way…it forced him to be there at camps.

  2. ClayBURN94 Says:

Lol what an idiot! Since he obviously cares more about having fun and having a good ole’ time more than winning, thats the reason Schiano got rid of his ass!

  3. Architek Says:

    Chile Please!!!

  4. Bucnjim Says:

Even when he was doing well in 2010 he was a ME first guy who did things the way he wanted to. His value isn’t worth the damage he does by being a very poor example of a teamate to these younger players. The Bucs went out and got the ultimate TEAM player in Dallas Clark. He’ll out work most players and set a great example of how things should be.

  5. Jarret Says:

Seattle loving Winslow just shows how bad their receivers/tight ends are. Kinda sad on their part…Im hoping Marshawn Lynch and Kellen Winslow start hanging out. That can only lead to good things.

Reporter: “So you and coach Brown got caught up on Saturday about practice?”

Iverson: “If I can’t practice, I can’t practice. It is as simple as that. It ain’t about that at all. It’s easy to sum it up if you’re just talking about practice. We’re sitting here, and I’m supposed to be the franchise player, and we’re talking about practice. I mean listen, we’re sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we’re talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game last it’s my last but we’re talking about practice man. How silly is that?

Now I know that I’m supposed to lead by example and all that but I’m not shoving that aside like it don’t mean anything. I know it’s important, I honestly do but we’re talking about practice. We’re talking about practice man. (laughter from the media crowd) We’re talking about practice. We’re talking about practice. We’re not talking about the game. We’re talking about practice. When you come to the arena, and you see me play, you’ve seen me play right, you’ve seen me give everything I’ve got, but we’re talking about practice right now. (more laughter)

Reporter: “But it’s an issue that your coach continues to raise?”

Iverson: “Hey I hear you, it’s funny to me to, hey it’s strange to me too but we’re talking about practice man, we’re not even talking about the game, when it actually matters, we’re talking about practice.”

Reporter: “Is it possible that if you practiced, not you but you would make your teammates better?”

Iverson: “How in the hell can I make my teammates better by practicing?

  8. OAR Says:

Win-slow never talks about winning cause he lacks Tiger blood coursing through his wanna-be DJ veins!
“My situation… man is……motorcycle accident…man I brought it on myself man…you know I’m unhappy with having to be….a teammate man. I’m real close man…..to Morris man…me and Rah…we dated man….and it was wonderful man….like when I’m spinning the discs man.”

  9. ClayBURN94 Says:

@OAR LMAO I read that in his voice!!

  10. AtlBucsFan Says:

Did anyone see the Bob Costas interview of Michael Phelps the other night after he lost the gold medal in the 200 butterfly? Costas asked Michael (parapharsing here folks) how he could have lost the gold when he was leading the last 50 meters. Phelps said it had to do with the way he practiced where he didn’t always finish the race by thrusting to the wall in practice. Phelps said that it showed up in the real race because he didn’t follow through in practice. I immediately thought of the Bucs of 2011. Nice that there is a coach now that will emphasize the importance of practices and how it prepares the players for game day. I don’t expect too many slow starts from the 2012 Bucs.

  11. canadabuc Says:

Hearing this interview makes you realize Schiano has this team on the right path. If your not with the program….time to find another team.

  12. buccnation Says:

Lmao that was tooooo funny ^^^^^^

  13. Oregano Says:

I will be happy with the New Schiano Order if he can eliminate the slow starts. The previous regime was not prepared properly.

Even if we just run the ball effectively and keep the opposing offense off the field in the 1st quarter and keep their possessions to a minimum, I’ll be happy.

  14. lightningbuc Says:

He’s in tree hugger country in the Northwest – he better stick to a moped up there! That’s all he can handle anyways.

  15. js1506 Says:

Like i care what this “Soldiah” says anymore.. he wasn’t happy with discipline?… ohh poor baby.. go cry some other place!

  16. SilenceTheCritics Says:

At they end of this season I got a funny feeling it will be seattle who wont be happy with him.

  17. Lion Says:

    The idiot speaks, again.

  18. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Says:

Hate to spoil the party, but I lived in Seattle for 16 years ( I am from here).
Seattle, especially in the summer, totally blows Tampa away.
LOL, winters in Seattle are another matter.

And, Seattle is an awesome sports town, with die hard Seahawks fans, who support their team, no matter what.
They are THE most noisy Fans in the NFL, and they will embrace Winslow.
I expect he will do very well out there.
I agree, Tampa had to get rid of him, because he don’t fit what Schiano is trying to do.
Still, I wish we had gotten something of value for him though.

  19. Karl Says:

Im not gonna waste my time to listen to it,him.

  20. Bucky23 Says:

Chris, being rid of him is value enough.

  21. Senor Piva Says:

just wait til he’s getting his usual 1 to 2 pass int. calls a game against him. seattle fans will love him…

  22. Architek Says:

No hearing that interview makes me want my money back from watching the Bucs and that brand of football exhibited by players like him.
