Offensive Line Most Disappointing

August 18th, 2011

It’s a team loss, but Joe has to shine a spotlight on the Bucs’ offensive line tonight because it’s a veteran group and possibly the highest-paid unit in the league.

Josh Freeman was hit tonight several times in less than an one half of work — the worst of all possible sins on this team. And it seemed like the O-line was blown off the ball repeatedly.

Freeman was clobbered on one sack by three Patriots. Yes, Earnest Graham missed a blitz pick-up, but what about the other two guys?

LeGarrette Blount had four carries for one yard.

There shouldn’t be any learning curve or readiness issues for this O-line.

Unacceptable.

I agree. Had great seats tonight. Penn got used. Andre Carter was a beast tonight. I wasn’t impressed with the Lorig FB experiment either. Our Dline was slow off the ball and didnt hold their assignments on running plays. Wilfork was a beast too. Their Cbs were like clue. Don’t blame Free on this one.

    We were out smarted.

Right on, Joe. Pathetic to see our first team tossed around like a bunch of girls. (Sorry, ladies.) *Insert obligatory caveat about preseason not mattering. It still sucks to see the other Evil Empire carving up the Bucs. And it sucks even worse to see all the national media outlets crowing about said Evil Empire.

Any line with Trueblood on it is going to suck. Period.

I pray we don’t pay the ultimate price for letting Caddy walk.

    Absolutely unacceptable!

Hit the books and the practice field guys, or team Glazer will drop the axe.
They don’t pay big bucks for suckage.

My biggest fear for the season realized. A LOT of issues to work out before Detroit.

    SNOOK

Don’t be moronic. Trueblood is pretty good and played pretty good last year, this camp, and against KC.

I agree the O-Line was the biggest disappointment. I expect mistkaes on defense right now, I did not expect the O-Line to be dominated. They were also (along with TEs & RBs) overwhelmed by the blitzing.

At least they have a lot of tape to learn from and it happened in preseason, unlike last year when Pitt trounced them in the regular seaosn.
