More Proof That BSPN Is Full Of It

August 27th, 2011

Last week Joe mocked a BSPN columnist who had the gall to suggest that Bucs running back LeGarrette Blount was only the 22nd best running back in the NFL.

The main premise to his absurd (lack of) logic was that Blount was not a third down back and since he cannot catch passes, he is of little use.

Well, Joe is not sure if Blount read that column in question or not but Blount showed what an unmitigated piece of feces that notion was.

Blount blew up Saturday night against the Dolphins as a legitimate third down threat. He caught three passes for 62 yards and one of his catches was nothing less than a thing of beauty.

Blount caught a short pass from Josh Freeman along the right side of the field and just happened to be in the open field. As Bucs fans are well aware of, Blount in the open field is lethal.

Blount started barrelling upfield and once he saw defenders coming his way, he cut back to this left and rumble and stumbled down the field for a 52-yard gain.

Friends, if Blount can pull off a couple of these in the regular season, not only does that make him more dangerous, it makes the Bucs offense potentially that much more lethal.

As for BSPN, friends, if you are still of the mind that BSPN is a must-go for sports information and knowledge, Joe suggests you try a bottle of Bushmills instead.

Next to freeman i would say williams and blount are tied as our second best offensive weapon on the team!

I don’t think them being wrong about Blount is proof that they suck… I think the fact that they suck is proof that they suck.

I quit watching ESPN years ago, not because I was tired of their schtick, their BS interest stories, but because they spent sooooo much freaking time covering things I didn’t want to hear about… you know, baseball, basketball, tennis, olympics, hockey, etc. Thank God for NFLNetwork!

NFL NETWORK IS GODS TV NETWORK

I liked what Blount can do when he has an open field but the way he catches seems awkward to me. On he 52 yard play the catch seemed slightly bobbled I just hope he continues to get better because right now it looks like teams are going to look to stack up on him.

  5. Camby Says:

Did they say he was the 22nd best back, or the 22nd best fantasy back? Because there is a difference. Guys that get more opportunities tend to be rated higher in fantasy…

If not, then chalk it up to BSPN’s automatic dismissal of all things Tampa

C’mon Joe, that’s ridiculous. I won’t stop watching ESPN because of that. Every sports network out there (ESPN, FSN, NFL Network, etc) trashes the Bucs and never gives them the respect they deserve. I like NFL Network, but given the fact Warren Sapp is on there, you should be more disappointed at how they don’t give the Bucs any love.

Nah Donald Penn is the second best weapon. He is still my favorite receiver! I love a fat man touchdown dance!!

JoeBucsFan is my must go for sports information and knowledge!!

Actually, I love my ESPN but only for highlights. I love the top 10 plays. As far as actual insight and coverage, they’re terrible. I also get creeped out over the group masterbation sessions I’m fairly certain they have everytime the Yankees and Red Sox play eachother.
