Michael Clayton Working Hard

April 17th, 2010

Joe watched this “sights and sounds” video of the Bucs recent offseason workouts several times to try and catch a glimpse of Arron Sears.

No luck.

A few freeze frames revealed an overweight-looking gentleman to be Dre Moore, not Sears. (Yes, Joe needs a woman to occupy his time).

But the blocking icon Michael Clayton sure seemed to have captured the eye of the Buccaneers.com videographer. Clayton is shown grimacing, grinding and getting after it in drills.

He’s impressing again in shorts and a t-shirt — not pads.

Go get’em, Mike.

I think even Clayton could hang onto those!

  2. Eric Says:

The man is the antithesis of Allen Iverson.

“Game, who cares about a game? Were talking about a game here”!

  3. thomas Says:

Stop! Stop! Michael Clayton is closer to a nfl right tackle than nfl wr. he is 25 million dollar special teamer – nothing more.

    great evaluation bucs.

By the way, Dom is/was the head of “Pro” personnel evaluation means he was solely responsible for the eval and signing and $ commmitment to Clayton. This is the guy who u bozos think is capable of rebuilding this team without any quality free agents.

  4. Patrick Says:

We should sign Terrell Owens. He’s a veteran receiver who still has quite a bit of talent in him. Sign him to a 2 year contract for a reasonable amount of money. We’re limiting ourselves to too little by putting the whole future in the draft! I know that he may not be the best teammate, but he’s no where near as bad as Marshall or Holmes! You do have to respect Owens in the fact that he’s never had off the field issues. He’s not a criminal like many other guys in the league.

I said it before and I’ll say it again. The hell with TO, I’d rather have Torry Holt come in here for 1-2 years and help out Freeman and the receivers. He is available and could probably be had on the cheap.

  6. Lakeland Bob Says:

Blockin Icon goona fool all you naysayers this year.

Gonna make Rah and Dom look good.

Blockin Icon goona have 10 tds this year.

  8. TJ Tillman Says:

@ Lakeland Bob Clayton does not even have 10 Tds in his carrer. He will have probaly like 30 catches 400 or 500 yards but he still is no #1 and should have been not only off this team but out the leage 3 years ago. Stop making excuses for him Clayton makes enough for himself

  9. Tom Says:

I’ll have what Lakeland Bob is having…

Just don’t ask Clayton to catch a pass…or get separation and he’ll be alright.

  10. Lakeland Bob Says:

    TJ Tillman

Just trying to create a little contrvoersy on a slow day at work.

Was not serious about 10 tds. However if someone wants to bet a

Thousand againt my Hundred,I may be persuaded to take the bet.

10 to 1 odds is really not enough on this wager, but I am feeling

    generous.

  11. TJ Tillman Says:

I take that bet right now for real. We always hear that CLayton is working hard in the off season so isalot of other people my little brother his high school teamates are working hard. talk to me in nov about zClayton’s work ethic

  12. Lakeland Bob Says:

Lets wait til after the draft. He might be cut before the season starts.

  13. BigMacAttack Says:

It’s nice to see so many players working hard. I saw Michael Clayton standing around twice in the video. Go figure, anybody else see that? What a bumb. Why is he still on the team? Are all the fans missing something that Dominick isn’t? i don’t think so. “You’re a bumb, Rocky!!!”

  14. tampa2 Says:

@Tom, Get separation? Claton gets separation on any ball he actually does catch. That is proven. He catches it, gets hit, and then he is separated from the ball! see!

  15. bigrattler73 Says:

SAME CRAP, DIFFERENT SEASON WITH CLAYTON. WHEN WILL THE BUCS SIGN A REAL RECIEVER.

  16. Eric Says:

Why do you guys have to be so down on the blocking icon? He has been training really hard and all he gets is a bunch of negative remarks from you ingrates.

I think we should all give him another chance and start with a clean slate. After all the past is past.

  17. SLY Says:

Huh…you mean there was an article next to that picture?

I was going to say, she looks like an MVP candidate.

  18. Mr. lucky Says:

I can’t believe you didn’t mention that the Bucs resigned Maurice Stovall – maybe that’s why Clayhands is working so hard?

  19. Patrick Says:

I read somewhere on ESPN’s NFC South blog that Saints WR Lance Moore might be on the trade block. We should try to grab him. Send a 3rd or 4th for him, I think the Saints would take it

  20. BigMacAttack Says:

Hey Eric, how much did Clayton give you for a retainer?

    Why thank you Joe!

Maybe he won’t try to sneak out of the ORA’s early like he did last year. The Bucs kept Clanghands around because he was the management rat. Unfortunately, managment, like most of the sportswriters in the town, took Clayton’s lies as gospel. You clowns bet on the wrong plug. Now we’re stuck with him, Rah Rah and the Dummy. Clanghans couldn’t catch a date with a ho’ in a troop train.
