First Serious Injury Of The Preseason

August 10th, 2009

No. No. No.

Antonio Bryant will have arthroscopic knee surgery to “clean up his knee and get it out of the way now before the season,” said Raheem The Dream speaking to Steve Duemig on 620 WDAE-AM after Bucs practice on Monday afternoon. The news broke on The Big Dog’s show.

The Dream said it’s more precautionary than anything else as Bryant has looked good in camp but “if after [two-a-days] his knee is going to swell up …”

More to come on this. It’s reasonable to think Bryant will be back in four weeks. Joe’s hoping.

Not good. Now he cannot get into any kind of rhythm with his starting QB, whomever that turns out to be. If Stovall and Brian Clark are out starting WRs on Opening Day, we are in for a loooooooooonnnnngggg season…

  2. BigMacAttack Says:

It sounds like they caught this early which may have avoided something major. Bryant doesn’t need much practice. The QB’s were throwing picks left and right today, so the problem isn’t the WR’s. The defense is everywhere. Ball Hawks and that is much of the QB problem. Josh Johnson was the best QB on the field today. Go Figure. When Raheem figures that out they should be fine. Everybody hates Mike Vick, but with a good running game and O line, he would be cheap insurance and worth a shot.

BigMacAttack, we need a qb , not a another rb.

  4. BigMacAttack Says:

True, I just hope the QB we need is already on the team. Freeman was horrible in practice yesterday. At least the Season is finally here.

BigMacAttack, I agree and I hear Josh Johnson looked good, but Freeman(being a 1st round pick, my fingers cringe typing that) unfortunately is here to stay a while.
