Despite reports to the contrary, Bucs quarterback Brian Griese's agent told Joe that Griese's fate with the Bucs has yet to be sealed.

Yesterday Joe noted a column written by Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com where Marvez claims Bucs quarterback Brian Griese will be cut loose before the end of the week.

It’s Friday morning and Griese is still a Bucs quarterback.

He may still be a Bucs quarterback come training camp.

Though it’s widely regarded that with five quarterbacks on the roster that Griese, who last year was paid $4 million and has yet to participate in offseason workouts or practices at One Buc Palace, would be the odd man out. But that may not happen said Griese’s agent Ralph Cindrich.

The Pittsburgh-based agent and former NFL player spoke with Joe from a seminar in Chicago Thursday night concerning Griese’s status with the Bucs. While Cindrich couldn’t go into details as he feared he may hamper negotiations, he did confess that he and the Bucs are still in negotiations.

Cindrich termed Marvez’s column as “premature.”

“At this time we’re still talking,” Cindrich said. “Discussions are going on. He could stay” with the Bucs.

Cindrich termed the nature of his negotiations with the Bucs as “not acrimonious.”
