In a video feature on NFL Network Thursday, Bucs quarterback Luke McCown offered to help bust-in-waiting Josh Freeman, saying, "Why not?"

Last night on NFL Network’s “Total Access,” panelists Rich Eisen, Chris Cooley, Terrell Davis and Steve Wyche debated the Bucs’ quarterback situation

There is also a clip of Raheem the Dream where he has what Joe considers his best quote thus far, when he described the quarterback battle as “One bone, five dogs.”

Davis is confident Byron Leftwich will be the Bucs starting quarterback.

Cooley noted that in practice, quarterbacks expected to be third string (or lower) on the depth chart get few if any snaps in practice. The clip linked also includes words from Luke McCown, who offered to help bust-in-waiting Josh Freeman (“Why not?”). Joe loves McCown’s attitude.

Alex Marvez of FoxSports.com wrote yesterday that quarterback Brian Griese may not be on the Bucs rosterby week’s end. A source very close to Griese told Joe last night via email that Marvez’s report may be premature and Griese’s days with the Bucs could continue. Joe hopes to get more news on this hopefully today.
