Vacation Man of BSPN.com claims Michael Clayton will catch 50 passes this season.

Vacation Man of BSPN.com, who calls Tampa home, wrote in an NFC South chat recently that he has a feeling the breakout out player for the Bucs this season will be none other than Michael Clayton.

Anthony (Las Vegas): Pat my first time in the chat, read it all the time. Buccs fan living in Vegas, Is Michael Clayton going to have a break out year?

Vacation Man: I think he’ll have a solid year. Maybe 50 catches and lots of good run blocking.

Wow. Some 50 catches for a guy who has had trouble catching the ball? While Joe is suspicious of this pick, it’s a bold pick. Joe would love to see it.

When Clayton was drafted by the Bucs, Joe was the lone guy he can think of save for Michael Irvin that thought Clayton was a solid pick. Joe even remembers calling the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, The Big Dog, Steve Duemig moments after the pick and getting into it with Jim Flynn of The Pewter Report about Clayton.

If Clayton pulls in 50 catches, Joe suspects the Bucs offense will be humming.

Joe WHY would you be surprised in Clayton caught 50 passes this year?

Do you have that little faith in the Bucs or Michael?

Remember his rookie season? 80 (eighty) catches.

Last season was 38 catches. Add in those drops and he would have been closer to 50.

With the right personell on the field and right play calling for a #2 WR I would suspect that 50 should be THE MINIMUM. Especially if the Bucs use more of a 2 tight-end package and a vertical game.

Clayton can catch 80 balls this year.

The problem is you have to throw it to him 160 times. Since he drops 50% of the passes thrown to him.
