Raheem The Dream Is High On Life

August 5th, 2010

raheem 0613bIf this football thing doesn’t work out for Raheem the Dream, the man has a brighter than bright future in politics if he so chooses.

Joe got a brief chance to chat with Raheem the Dream today at Bucs training camp and Joe can see why the players love him. Raheem the Dream has an absolute infectious personality and some serious magnetism, not unlike Dick Vitale.

Besides, Raheem the Dream is totally high on life. Always pumped up. A boundless bundle of energy.

Consider this small exchange between Joe and Raheem the Dream:

Joe: Having fun?

Raheem the Dream: I’m having fun. The team is having fun. The fans are having fun. We’re all having fun.

Joe: You looking forward to Saturday (night practice at the CITS)?

Raheem the Dream:  We’re looking forward to it. Are you going to be there?

Joe: Of course. You ready for all the activities Saturday?

Raheem the Dream: We’re ready. We’re ready. Are you going to be ready?

Joe: Sure:

Raheem the Dream: No, are you going to be ready?

Joe: Of course I’m ready!

Raheem the Dream: We need to get you on the field.

It’s hard not to root for a guy who wants Joe to suit up. Of course, a stunt like that would be one way to get rid of Joe for good.

Hey Joe, I don’t know if you noticed but there were a lot of comments today about needing the intensity to pick up by Raheem. Sounds a lot like what Steve White wrote about on your site. I think Raheem is reading your posts. :-)

  2. Joe Says:

    Dew:

Trust Joe, this is not lost on Steve. :)

Ever notice how morris repeats things he say they should change his nickname to Rainman instead of Radio Instead of Radio Instead of Radio Kmart suckjs

  4. Javier n Wimauma Says:

LOL….. Joe, Raheem doesn’t like you too much… I have a hunch it has something to do with the Raheem the Dream nickname and the unedited quotes. Joe, you should be fixing his grammar for him bud!

Anyway, Raheem will soon lose his job so catering to him may be unneeded.

  5. Joe Says:

    Javier:

Of course Joe has no idea what Raheem the Dream says about him behind closed doors but Raheem the Dream has always been cool with Joe face-to-face. When Joe yelled “Raheem the Dream” at him once, Raheem the Dream turned around and yelled, “YEAH!” and pumped his fist.

Javier: “Anyway, Raheem will soon lose his job so catering to him may be unneeded.”

@Javier, It is folks like you I hate the most. You are a disgrace to Buccaneers fan base (if you really are a fan that is). It is one thing to not have high hopes on a team or be pessimistic, but to root against the head coach of Bucs is ridiculous.

Like many here I am not sold on Raheem as the HC, but because I am a Buccaneers fan I will root for him and hope he will have success. Meanwhile you can jump on the bandwagon of some other team that Gruden starts coaching in future.

  7. Mauha Deeb Says:

    @Jonny I couldn’t agree more with you.

  8. Hawaiian Buc Says:

    Me too, great post Jonny!

  9. Capt.Tim Says:

    Yup, Go Jonny!

  10. eric Says:

And while you guys were running Gruden out of town, did you switch teams?

  11. oar Says:

Joe, You can always ask Capt”fly-on-the-wall”Tim to find out if/what Raheem the dream is about you behind closed doors! LOL!

  12. oar Says:

Eric, Exactly. I actually wonder, how many of you guys wanted/cheered for Gruden’s teams to succeed? By the sounds echoing these posts, probably not too many.

  13. oar Says:

BTW Again, Gruden is gone. Why do you guys keep brining him up?

  14. Javier n Wimauma Says:

    @ Eric you said

“And while you guys were running Gruden out of town, did you switch teams?”

    EXACTLY.

@Johny “It is folks like you I hate the most.”

My reply to you, it is folks like you I hate the most.

  15. JK Says:

Why do we have to hate each other because of the way the rich kids choose to run this franchise into the ground? How many passes does Morris get before this site and local media start teaming up on him the same way they did the last coach we had? I watched every game last year on the Sunday ticket. Just about every game win or lose, mostly losses Coach Morris would be smiling on the sidelines like it was going just the way he wanted it to go. The last coach we had would have been run out of town for laughing while his ass was being handed to him. By the way does anyone know how much Morris is getting paid?

  16. Jonny Says:

I like how the grudenlites talk out of their a$$ to make a point. No Buccaneers fan is a fan because of Raheem Morris, they are fans of the organization, the city, the roster, the history of that team. Yes, I was one of those that wanted to run Gruden out of town from 2006 onwards, but I still rooted for Gruden to win more games and playoffs, because he is coaching my Buccaneers.

Well most of you grudenite fools would not understand me anyways. You seem to be the fans of Chucky, now that Chucky is not coaching any team you are still hanging on to the Buccaneers bandwagon. I hope Gruden finds a coaching gig soon so that the Buccaneers fan base gets rid of junk like you Grudenites.

  17. oar Says:

Jonny, This Grudenite fool was hatched in good ole Tampa and lived here all 16,425 days. With that said, I have been following my beloved Bucs since thier inception in 76′. Went to many games and got season tickets when old enough to afford them. My comment may have been a tad over zealous, but the way some of you “hate” on the man, it makes me wonder?
But, whatever. You probably won’t understand me, lol!

  18. McBuc Says:

JK…It is not uncommon for a first year coach to have a bad season. One season is not enoughm and I watched all the games last year too. At times he was smiling and at times he was not, this has no baring on anything. Let’s see how he does this year before we decide to start over again. The Bucs seem to be putting the pieces together to have a great team, but it does take some time.
