Mike Glennon And The Browns

February 5th, 2015

No, Joe is not a deranged hater. Joe is not dancing with glee because Johnny Football is seeking help to become the best he can be at the NFL level.

The mental patients who celebrate this are the ones who truly need counseling, if not institutionalization themselves.

(So too did Brett Favre seek treatment. How many of you psychopaths were high-fiving over his problems? Buncha animals.)

And yes, if Lovie Smith makes the unconscionable error to pass on Jameis Winston, Joe would love to see the Bucs make a reasonable offer for Johnny Football. Joe isn’t a nimrod ready to toss a guy to the wolves after six quarters.

Until Johnny becomes healthy, the Browns may be seeking for quarterback depth. And one of the top NFL insiders, Chris Mortensen of BSPN, suggests the Bucs should be, and probably are, on the Browns’ radar.

In short, “Mort” believes the Browns should be making a pitch to Bucs general manager Jason Licht for Mike Glennon. Mortensen discussed this subject with Adam Schein, host of “Schein on Sports,” heard exclusively on “Mad Dog Radio,” part of the family of sports channels on SiriusXM Radio.

Adam Schein: Who do you think will be the quarterback in Cleveland this year, Mort?

Chris Mortensen: Ah, I would say Brian Hoyer still. I think Hoyer re-signs back with them. I am anxious to see if they trade – I’m not talking about one of their two first-round draft picks – see if they trade a draft pick and go down and get Mike Glennon from Tampa Bay.

Schein: See, that’s the guy – whether it is Cleveland or somewhere else – Mike Glennon can play in the NFL, right?

Mortensen: Well, listen. Go out and I’d say, go back and look, even for the cynics, go back and look at some of his past work now. I don’t know how many games he has played in, 20, 21, 19, whatever, his numbers are pretty good. In retrospect, it shows Greg Schiano identified a valuable quarterback. And when you play in the AFC North, man, those big-armed, strong guys, that’s what you win with. Joe Flacco, Ben Roethlisberger. Now I am not saying Glennon is in that category. That’s the type of guy, if I were Cleveland, I’d be looking to see if I could make a play for him. And I think Jimmy Haslam, the owner, knows that Mike Glennon is a guy that they should be considering.

If the Bucs truly are going to draft a quarterback, this is the way to go. And it would be a fresh, deserved start for Glennon. The guy has been used and abused in his time in Tampa Bay.

First, Glennon was thrown into the fire after leaky, sleepy Josh Freeman went mental. Then, he was jerked around by Lovie, first told he was the quarterback of the future and then benched, truly a mystery.

Glennon would at least get a fair shake in Cleveland.

And for Johnny haters, Bill Polian and Gil Brandt both would have drafted him, too. Guess you guys know more about building football teams than those two, huh?

I am not celebrating the move by Manziel. I applaud it.

However, I can not take a single thing the Joes say about Winston seriously given last year’s daily nuggets on how Johhny was the QB of choice for the guys running this site.

I love the site, love the passion, but you guys have zero credibility with me when it comes to evaluating QBs.

I almost wonder if you guys are trolling us all at this point, knowing we will all click on every single “Daily Nugget” just to read the arguments in the comments section.

Just so you know, the “Jameis Watch” is NOT among the most popular daily posts here. There’s no “trolling” going on. Joe is providing diverse points of view on the guy likely to be quarterbacking the Bucs. –Joe

  2. Buc Neckid Says:

Glennon = Polar Opposite of Manziel = what the Browns need right now
Their Third Round Pick would be a great swap

  3. biff barker Says:

There is nothing mysterious whatsoever about Lovie.

The Glennon debacle was him simply being dishonest.

This guy treats the media and fans rather poorly IMO. Simple as that.

  4. Joehelldeloxley Says:

Mike Glennon is not the kind of guy who will become a legend.

But I think he is a good or very good QB. He did really good things in his rookie season adn I still don’t understand whe he didn’t have a real chance to show his quality last year.

Trading him today doesn’t seem a good option.

For me Glennon should be the next starter, at least to give our 1st round pick (Mariotta ?) some time to adapt, adjust and get ready to start.

I can’t imagine that the futur of this franchise could be lead by guys who are not reliable due to their out-of-pitch issues.

At least, if we really trade Glennon, bring back here some really good OL.

  5. LutzBuczFan Says:

I like having a capable back up QB on our roster. I don’t ever want to see McCown play for us again.

  6. Lev in Philly Says:

I don’t know, Glennon is a great back up.

He is someone who can come in and win you 3-4 games while your starter is out.

I would only trade him for nothing worse than a second pick.

  7. Robert 9 Says:

how can anyone even grade Glennon given the $hitstorms he was thrown into?

no support when he was backing up free. i.e. teaching him

still had a good season for a rookie

came into lovie’s world and again was thrown into the background without primary teaching. no offensive scheme or gameplan and an o line that was turrible……..then yanked so lovie could tank the season…

    lol at the Glennon haters.

no less than a 2nd rounders and he will be another one that got away.

  8. Barry Says:

“guy likely to be quarterbacking the Bucs” . –Joe

And you know this Joe? Or is it just your opinion?

  9. Buc4life1979 Says:

    @Joe
Then Polian and Brandt would both have been guilty of committing the cardinal draft sin of drafting strictly off “physical potential” while blindly looking past the “right out in the open waiting to smack anyone in the face that isn’t wearing blinders character issues” that both Manziel AND WINSTON HAVE!!! Anyone can say what they want to about Schiano, “Rock Star” Dominick NEVER (aside from fate dropping GMC in his lap at #3) had a good draft until Schiano came on board..just look at how many of Schaino’s guys” were still around this year…Schiano drafted and looked to bring in players who were driven to play football games, and who had their heads on their shoulders right, not games in life with a sick turned around head…Where does Mariotta and Winston fall when it comes to those last 2 catagories…and yet Winston is still pined for…WHY?

  10. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

Figures the Bucs would trade a solid young QB prospect…..for a pig in a poke
QB is the hardest position to fill in the NFL
Keep Glennon…and NO I am not in the Glennon Mob or the Glennon lynch mob….there is simply not enough to make a decision on what his future in the NFL will be…..
his “mobiltiy” issues will decrease playing behind a good OL

  11. Tom Edrington Says:

Manziel is in rehab, Ian Beckles brought up a great point—- how will this guy ever stay out of the bars? Can you imagine him saying to his gang on Friday nights:

    “Sorry, can’t go, I’m staying home….”

As for the Mariota-Winston debate…..that is someone else’s decision, someone who is being paid very large dollars, so let them make the tough choice….

Joe(s) have already cast their ballots by hinting that Winston “most likely” to be the Bucs QB.

  12. Buc Neckid Says:

Joe(s) want Winston on Talent alone, But
There will be more than Talent weighed
to decide on who to take with the first pick.

  13. Captain Stagger Says:

If memory serves me correct, the joes are 0-2, JFF and Bjorn Werner who was a healthy scratch in the AFC Championship. Glad you guys aren’t drafting for us.

  14. Bucfan4life Says:

Buc4life many people questioned Manziels dedication and his party boy personality. Nobody has ever questioned Winston’s dedication. He has made some immature decisions in the past but these guys are very different.

For the record people like Mortenson haven’t watched Glennon as much as Buc fans. We have seen how inaccurate he is with anything thrown over 15 yards, how incredibly slow he is, and how he is just a check down QB. The people around the country saying good things about Glennon are simply basing it on his marginal stats. They like his low int numbers, but they don’t realize that he simply doesn’t take chances.

  15. MariotaOrWinstonOrWalkdaPlank Says:

Let’s not start the Johnny Rehab debate Joe. There were also plenty “experts” who said they WOULD NOT draft him in the first round. Guess you know more about building teams than them? Come on dude, those are just guys with opinions like us.

All Johnny Rehab has done in his NFL career so far is flash an asinine money sign, flicked off the Redskins, and gotten beat out by Brian Hoyer.

  16. 77bassguitarist Says:

Hey joe when will you admit that you were wrong about the manzeil drunk? Stand up have some dignity and admit you’re mistake. You guys sound like clowns.

  17. 87ForJameisNOMariota Says:

Winston will be checked out by the Bucs. What they will find is that everything has been blow out of proportion. No one even considers that he was NOT the only football player on the team that was shooting BB guns at squirrels that day.
That many FSU(and other colleges) student athletes get free food from grocery stores. That it could have been any kid yelling an obscenity in the student union, but since it was Winston it was blown up to become a big deal. That he got straight A’s in high school and graduated with a 4.0 and maintained a 3.4 GPA in college.

Of course all these things will be looked at and he’s far from the thug many on JBF portray him out to be. Glennon will be traded before the draft. I’d much rather they keep him than McCown, but I don’t see that happening.

  18. flmike Says:

“So too did Brett Favre seek treatment. How many of you psychopaths were high-fiving over his problems? Buncha animals”

First Favre endeared himself to all NFL fans with his play, Johnny 8Ball was hated before he was even drafted. Second, Favre sought treatment for pain killer addiction after being in the league for a few years and getting battered and bruised by his style of play, Johnny 8Ball is seeking treatment because his handlers told him it’d be a good PR move. Just after just 6 qtrs of play his own team is looking for a way out from him, if they are looking for a QB, then they aren’t sold on him nor should they be, he’s proven to be just another great college athlete (not even a great college QB) who will not make it in the NFL, there is no sin in that, many before have failed, just as he will.

  19. 77bassguitarist Says:

    @ flmike agreed great points

  20. PTWalk Says:

Bucfan4life hit the nail on the head. Glennon is not a strong arm QB.his pocket awareness is below average and he’s a pocket passer. Ive seen enough of him .that being said Ive worst back ups so he has a place in the NFL

  21. JoeJoes Fungi Nails Says:

    pocket….BWhahahahaha…pocket Bwhahahahaha

  22. MariotaOrWinstonOrWalkdaPlank Says:

    This one’s for you Joes:
    Sweet Johnny O’ Mine

He’s got a smile that it seems to me
    Reminds me of childhood memories
    Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky

Now and then when I see his face
He takes me away to that special place
And if I stared too long
I’d probably break down and cry

    Sweet Johnny o’ mine

He’s got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I’d hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain

His heisman reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I’d hide
And pray for the thunder and the rain
    To quietly pass me by

Oh, oh, oh sweet Johnny o’ mine

  23. bucrightoff Says:

Cleveland is a team to target for a possible RGIII-level package to trade up as they may want Mariota (and his squeaky clean image). Both their firsts this year, their first next year and a couple 2nds or 3rds. Make it happen, they might actually be stupid/desperate enough to do it.

  24. BirdDoggers Says:

Glennon has good value and could be a quality starter in the league, especially for a team that wants to focus on the defense and have a good running game (I wonder who that could be?). He wasn’t given the chance to compete with McCown and spent the past two years playing in a crappy offense. He could grade out to be better than Winston or Mariota but the team will be pressured into taking a QB regardless.

  25. Eric Says:

People like to see others fail, even if it based on a personal problem like alcohol abuse.

Sad but true demonstration of human nature.

Hopefully Johnny can sort that out.

Lovie didn’t lie about anything, he played Glennon and discovered he wasn’t the QB of the future. Happens about a zillion times around the league.

  26. bucrightoff Says:

Isn’t Manziel the best QB prospect in the last 20 years Eric?

  27. DWE Says:

ok who is going to be our second string QB? I hope like hell it is not McCown. Keep Glennon as backup.

  28. Robert 9 Says:

“Lovie didn’t lie about anything, he played Glennon and discovered he wasn’t the QB of the future. Happens about a zillion times around the league.”

    bwahahahahaha…….

just like he he discovered aroyo isn’t an NFL OC. he stuck with his boys mcclown and aroyo to tank the season knowing full well they gave him the best chance to lose and collect draft picks, because he knew, with a 5 year deal, the job would still be his no matter how bad the team did. thats the only rational explanation. anything else and he should be fired.

  29. Jared DePiro Says:

Trade Glennon for Connor Shaw and a 6th rounder, Shaw has a lot of potential

  30. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

As I stated in a previous thread…imagine the JBF irony if “career backup” Mike Glennon does go to Cleveland and easily wins the starting QB job over Hoyer and a certain high profile QB touted drafted with Cleveland’s “QB cursed #22 ” pick to be a franchise QB, a gun slinger in the Brett Favre mold who only knows how to win and would be an instant upgrade at QB had the Bucs selected him, almost every day on here last year. No shame in being wrong, we all are from time to time, but making bold proclamation in the face of sound reason will get your balls busted if you’re wrong 🙂

  31. PTWalk Says:

Who cares about a back up. First things first and first of we need a starter.

  32. Marquistador Says:

I think the only people who do not enjoy the daily jameis nuggets are the jameis detractors. Agreed about the passion behind the writing on this site. If I were playing backyard football a few times a year, I may enjoy having manziel or mariota on my team. If my qb were tasked to run a pro-style offense and remain disciplined with his reads and put the ball in a tight window from the pocket, Winston has to be the guy.

I don’t think Lovie, or the Glazers for that matter, want some guy running around like a chicken with his head cut-off, haphazardly slangin’ the ball around into coverage (mostly manziel) and play after play getting blasted by NFL d-lineman or linebackers. First of all IMO Mariota > Manziel. If you can promise that Mariota’s legs will never leave him, then I would make the pick right now, because I think most of his success has come from running around. But, as we’ve seen, legs go… I am worried that once his do, he wont know what to do.

  33. Eric Says:

    Ok Robert9,

Who should Lovie have had quarterbacking the team last year?

And are you saying other coaches don’t express confidence in a player they later release or trade?

That’s a lie? Then every coach in this league is a “liar”.

And Tedford’s heart condition was also Lovie’s fault?

  34. Eric Says:

Jonny football’s career is not over………….

  35. Jeagan1999 Says:

Damn Joe…..getting a bit defensive there aren’t you? YOU were the one telling us last year that Johnny Football was the second coming of Fran Tarkenton, Joe Montana and Johnny Unitas! Many of us TOLD you that he was a problem waiting to happen and you seemingly didn’t care! Now he’s is in rehab (where I hope he is able to get his life back on track), and you’re pissed off at those of us who tried to tell you that this would happen in the first place! maybe you need to stand in front of a mirror and direct your anger at the person you see there?

  36. Skyline Crew Says:

“And yes, if Lovie Smith makes the unconscionable error to pass on Jameis Winston, Joe would love to see the Bucs make a reasonable offer for Johnny Football. Joe isn’t a nimrod ready to toss a guy to the wolves after six quarters.”

It makes no sense Joe. You take Mariota who is better than JF. I don’t know why you like this kid. Have you read the Patriots scouting report on him? The kid is a turd.

  37. gatrbuc17 Says:

Im with Jared. IF we trade Glennon it should only be for Shaw plus a pick. Shaw came in off the bench and looked pretty good.

  38. Skyline Crew Says:

If the Bucs truly are going to draft a quarterback, this is the way to go. And it would be a fresh, deserved start for Glennon. The guy has been used and abused in his time in Tampa Bay.

First, Glennon was thrown into the fire after leaky, sleepy Josh Freeman went mental. Then, he was jerked around by Lovie, first told he was the quarterback of the future and then benched, truly a mystery.
    ***********
This we can agree on Joe. Glennon hasn’t been given a fair chance at all.

  39. bucrightoff Says:

Shaw played 1 game and looked…ok. Hardly great, he looked ok. Better than Manziel by far but even Tebow is better than Manziel. But we should trade Glennon for Shaw, despite the fact Glenno has looked better in much more action. Ok then, nothing poor about that decision…

  40. Skyline Crew Says:

    “On his family:

From the vibe of online articles, father seems a little too involved and overstepping his boundaries.
Vibe on this guy keeps getting worse. Support staff members are sick of him and ready for him to go. Described as a cocky, me-guy.
Loves football, FBI is high as well. Everything has been pretty well-documented in online articles about the kid, but sources say he’s a spoiled brat (grandfather gives him allowance, father bought him luxury car).
Comes from ‘outlaw bloodlines’, mom moved the family to Kerrville to get away from father’s wild family. Father’s family is said to be very shady people, always into something, they are the root of Johnny’s personality.

    On his psyche:

Couple of TXTC sources say can’t yell/scream at him or he shuts down; has walked away from Kingsbury in the past.

    On his work ethic:

Doesn’t study the game, said to know about 60% of the offense in ’12, never watches film; one source said only time he watched film during ’12 was before ALUN.
Knows how to scheme the system, arrogant and full of himself, but he’s not smug to coaches. Has been like this since Day 1, has never gone to class, goes to beat of own drum, but has ultimate confidence.

On how his teammates view him:

Teammates don’t dislike him, but there’s some resentment, more so in the offseason when he isn’t coming to workouts and they are busting their butt.”

Those are some excerpts from the report. Is that who you want as a QB?

  41. biff barker Says:

    Eric Says:

Lovie didn’t lie about anything, he played Glennon and discovered he wasn’t the QB of the future. Happens about a zillion times around the league.
    ————————————–
Revisionist history. Lovie tried to trade him. When that fizzled he anointed Glennon the QOF even though Glennon was never given a chance to compete in camp.

If McCown wasn’t injured Glennon wouldn’t have even sniffed the field this season. The stubbornness of Lovie manifests itself yet again because most believe he clearly outplayed the human turnover machine McCown.

I don’t believe for a second that Lovie planned to tank the season at that point either.

Typical hapless homerism from the confident clan.

  42. Skyline Crew Says:

The only players I would take from the Browns would be Joe Haden or one of their young starting offensive lineman.

  43. Skyline Crew Says:

I would much rather Glennon as our QB than McCown. Glennon is better than McCown and would have won more games if our defense wouldn’t have sucked. Glennon needs a fair chance. Draft a QB and let Glennon compete against them. At least he deserves that. But sure if you are just going to d!ck him over again then yes, by all means let him get a fresh start somewhere else. Somewhere where they don’t screw over QBs. People wanna talk about how QBs go to Cleveland to die…maybe you should all look here for that as well.

  44. biff barker Says:

The best thing about Cleveland right now is they are stealing all the bad press. Keep away from that turd of a franchise.

Use the Cannon as the bridge and we draft our QB. Best case is he plays well and earns us a high pick after next season.

    McCown has to go. RFN.

  45. Destinjohnny Says:

Give glennon a good team around him which he has never had… He will be between a top 8-12 qb in the league.

  46. kevin Says:

If we dont draft mariora trade down and keep glennon.

  47. THETRUTH Says:

It is obvious that Glennon is not what Lovie wants , if so why would you not let him play out the last few games knowing the season was over. He claimed to play other players to see what they had to offer..

Glennon for Johnny straight up, draft a QB (Winston/marriota) let johnny get himself together and now you have trade value for johnny down the road than you would with glennon..

Play the value game glennon will never be better than a #3 pick trade for a desperate team.

  48. Skyline Crew Says:

Only problem with taking Johnny is that his trade value won’t go up unless you play him. He isn’t going to just sit on the bench. He isn’t better than Winston or Mariota. However, Winston/Glennon are the same style of player. Neither run, both just stand in the pocket and pass. If you want Mariota I don’t think Glennon will be a good backup to him because they are different style players. However, I do like Glennon better than McCown. If you get Mariota then you can trade Glennon for Manziel because it makes more sense, but Manziel is a bad egg…always has and probably always will.

  49. Skyline Crew Says:

    I’d take Hoyer before Manziel.

  50. LUVMYBUCS Says:

If there was a Mount Rushmore for the men who imagined and built the Dallas Cowboys, it would inevitably include the visages of:

    -Longtime Coach Tom Landry (1960-1988)
    -Original GM Tex Schramm (1960-1989)*
-Original Team Owner Clint Murchison (1960-1984)

    ….and last, but not least

Vice President of Player Personnel Gil Brandt (1960-1989)

    Note: Jimmy Johnson (1989–1993)

  51. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Before he became the NFL’s greatest talent scout, Gil Brandt was a baby photographer, of all things. But he had a knack for discovering football that helped him land a part-time gig as scout for the Los Angeles Rams in ’50s, when Tex Schramm was GM of that team

Why is it so many analysts and teams are intrigued by what Glennon has done/will do while the Bucs do not seem to be? That is telling…

  55. MadMax Says:

Dang Joe! You just dont learn. You want Johnny under a reasonable offer just like you “wanted” Free free under a “team friendly” resigned contract while I was trying to tell everyone here something just didnt seem right with him….MANY arguments, especially with 87, way before the CRAZINESS exploded!

The No go gauge didnt fit for a reason then and it wont fit now. Besides, hes NOT Favre! I predict he’ll be a backup at best if he can turn his life around in rehab. Rake me over the coals if Im wrong…..we’ll see.

As far as Winston, I dont feel the same about him as Freefree and Jboy. He has a chance and I’ll be watching what he does with it……doesnt mean I want our BUCS to go with him #1 overall, but interested I am. I’ll never forget watching his 1st game live and saying, “dam I hope we can draft him”…but then other things occurred and his play has changed a little.

Im ok with drafting the over rated Winston if thats what they do, But I’d rather draft the other guy, also from Florida, whose last name begins with a “W” as in Williams and FIX our Pass rush!

  56. Teacherman777 Says:

Glennon could be the next Brady.

    ______________________________________________________________
Especially considering the Bucs have arguably the worst run of QBs in NFL history, and Lovie Smith is one of the worst QB evaluators in league history.

  59. Zam Says:

Polian would have drafted RG3 over Andrew Luck. I’m not sure I buy his word on anything after that.

  60. OB Says:

I can’t believe that nobody sees that Glennon should be the starting QB for the Bucs next year regardless of who is picked in the first round because they need seasoning.

McCown has proved he should be retired or traded to one of our opponents.

Glennon with a real OC and a real QB coach can do wonders and if our draft choice beats him out later on in the season so be it but at least they will have some training before thrown into the den of lions (pun intended).

Winston and/or Mariota need some time to learn and the competition will make both a better QB plus the receiver will feast on either.

  61. Skyline Crew Says:

Glennon needs some stability, which doesn’t come if you are with the Bucs. He has been through 2 OCs and 2 QBCs now on his 3rd OC and 3rd QBC. He has to learn a new system every year. Come on guys lets be serious here. Any QB is going to have problem trying to learn a new system every year. No stability equals failure.

  62. Scratching My Head Says:

If the Bucs trade Glennon for anything less than a second rounder (which I don’t trust L&L to hold out for that) it should be a clear sign that we need a new HC and GM.

  63. lurker Says:

Glennon could be the next Brady. (bobby brady? marsha brady?)

Watch. (the games, he is a backup)

He has the obsessive work ethic. (to be a good backup)

He can make all of the throws. (just not to the receivers, esp. on the move)

He just needs a good o-line to protect him. (jameis makes throws on target with d-linemen in his face, and mariota can run)

Which in two years, he has never had. (maybe he is not leader enough to rally the troops…*runs 1/2 yard short instead of lowering shoulder)

  64. ToesOnTheLine! Says:

Glennon mockers can laugh all they want now, but they’ll be the ones crying the most if the Bucs have to face him on a team that can consistently pass block for 3 or more seconds. That or there will be a bunch of new screen names around here bitching about how the Bucs let yet another player go only to find success on another team.

  65. FuNkYxMuNkEy Says:

Trade Glennon and our 5th rounder for Johnny. If it doesn’t work out then so be it.

  66. bucrightoff Says:

We should acquire Johnny. If we really want to surpass the Browns and Raiders the most clown shoe organization in football, we have to make insanely idiotic decisions every chance we get.

  69. richie Says:

If we could get johnnymanziel for glennon i would be all for it.. johnny fits better with tampa the glennon does

  70. Rays8jenningsfan Says:

Joe would love Jameis and Johnny… but not Mariota?

    What is this guy smoking?

  71. richie Says:

Hes obviously alot smarter then you. Jamies winston is a way better quarterback then mariota. Only reason he lost to mariota was because his line sucked that game. More then usual anywyas. Thats why he would be a great qb for tampa he doesnt need a good o line to be a successful qb thats why he runs so much. And manziel behind him wouod be just as good as glennon minus the experience… manziel is wayyyyy better then mccrown

  72. richie Says:

Both our qbs dont have what it takes to be a first string qb.. manziel and winston could grow together and be a great 1 2 pair especially if they learn the game together.

  73. richie Says:

If the bucs have another year like last we all need to push the orginization to get rid of lovie amith at least.. dirk can stay cuz itll be his first year. Ever since lovie took over we have been doing even worse then we were before bwcause he flips what he wants to do like a fish out of water.

  74. richie Says:

Hes the worst at time management and is not good at evaluating players.. if he screws up this draft yet again he should be fired before the season even starts. I WANT GRUDON BACK!!!!!!!

  75. bucrightoff Says:

A Glennon for Manziel trade is amazingly lopsided for the Browns. Glennon for Manziel and one of their firsts..then cut Manziel.

  76. BoJim Says:

Koetter will play Glennon. Sho nuff.

  77. BringBucsBack Says:

Based on what, would any team want JFF, now? Some of you should speak your thoughts aloud so you can hear your own lunacy, before you type it!!

  78. Trubucfan22 Says:

Favre went to rehab for pain killers. Being an alcoholic partier is a lot different from a guy taking pain killers so he can play pain free.

  79. frog Says:

JOE If the Bucs truly are going to draft a quarterback, this is the way to go.

@ Joe You forgot(chose to leave out) how Joes and stupy dog used their radio time when Schiano was here to blast Glennon and campaign to get him traded. That drum beat hasn’t stopped and all this from a self proclaimed and promoted General of the Mike Gleenon Mob. Yes you are the first to call his supporters Mobsters. If you do it you have to own it. You have never liked the kid and your distaste of his talent is well documented in the archives of this column. Lets all hope you get your wish for Winston and he Fccks up like your other great picks at Quarterback, Freeman and Johny Football. OH YA you liked McClown also untill he pissed the season away.
Man, you really need to work on your comprehension skills. Joe likes Glennon and thinks he played up to his draft status and will be a 10+ year backup in the NFL. There’s no shame in that and it’s a credit to him. It’s guys like you who think calling a guy a good backup is an insult. It’s not. Second, Joe never liked McCown being chosen to start. That’s why Joe was aching for the Bucs to draft a QB last year. –Joe

  80. The True Buc Fan Says:

Frog, just a question, what talent? Mike Glennon has no talent unless given 20 seconds to throw the football, therefor every qb in the nfl will be all pro. Get off the no talent Glennon crap. So tired of hearing about a backup qb from backup fans.

  81. feelthepewterpower Says:

First, Glennon was thrown into the fire after leaky, sleepy Josh Freeman went mental.

The entire team went mental under Schiano, lol.

  82. JimmyJoe Says:

You tell them frog. You noticed Joe did not respond. must have stripped his general stars off him.

  83. Browns fan Says:

Browns would love a guy like Glennon. Never got a fair shot still young. Yeah I’ll give you something for him. Don’t expect Browns to do an rg3 deal, or anyone for that matter. Mariota is not Andrew luck and Winston has too much risk to throw your whole draft away. You won’t be seeing that kind of trade for awhile, until Andrew luck 2.0 comes out anyway(whoever he mAy be).
