Lovie doesn’t get the “Just, lose. Baby!” crowd.
Mathematics don’t seem to be Lovie Smith’s strong suit.
It seems Lovie can’t see the critical math facing the Bucs: one is much greater than two.
Lovie told New Orleans media today that all the chatter and consideration about the Bucs possibly trying to lose in order to secure the No. 1 overall pick is foreign to him.
“That’s just not part of my equation,” Lovie said.
The head coach says he knows no other way to Coach other than to try and win, and Lovie characterized the Bucs’ first-team-versus-first-team work in practice yesterday “as competitive as you would see.”
Lovie doesn’t seem to understand the concept that a team would do everything within reason to lose — for the greater good.
“I know a lot of people are talking about that,” Lovie said. “I don’t quite get that part. We’ll end up with a good pick.”
Joe will repeat: No. 1 overall is much better than No. 2. Quarterback-starved Bucs fans can’t assume both Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota will emerge healthy from their Bowl/National Championship game.

I wouldn’t lose much sleep over it Joe, the Bucs have been (allegedly) playing to win for 15 weeks now and have only succeeded at it twice. The smart money is on continued ineptitude out of the Bucs leading to 2-14 and a lock on #1

Kudos to Joe for attempting to stir up a bees nest of activity with comical comments suggesting either Mariota or Winston might get a serious injury when that’s about as likely as the Bucs winning on Sunday.

Talk about antiquated. Lovie just doesn’t get it. I bet he still has a lan line in his kitchen w a 20ft cord, a vcr and a blockbuster membership.

Don’t you think Winning the game and getting the number 2 guy is better than drafting the #1 guy.
#1 guy is Mariota
#2 guy is Jameis
You can’t take Jameis over Mariota because of the “off-field concerns.”
I think you have this all wrong Joe. Go back to rooting for the bucs. Lets get the #2 guy because we all know he’s going to be the better QB. Let’s not draft Mariota and set ourselves up for failure because of public opinion…

most of the people that post comments on this site seem to feel that lovie smith stinks as a coach. I feel the same way. who are all these people that vote on joe’s survey saying they are confident in lovie smith? I don’t get it.
