Swiss Cheese Saints Defense

The Saints defense, led by defensive coordinator rockin' Rob Ryan, has been so bad of late, it's enough to make any man scream.

Yes, Joe understands the importance of Sunday’s game. Lose, and the Bucs are in the driver’s seat for the Jameis Sweepstakes. Win, and they may have to settle for Marcus Mariota (Joe is OK with the consolation prize).

This Saints game is very winnable, which is frightening. Consider the Saints this season, under defensive coordinator rockin’ Rob Ryan, are pathetic. Bucs offensive line-kind of pathetic.

Since losing in overtime to the 49ers in early November, only once have the Saints not coughed up 400-plus yards of offense in a game, and that came when the Saints faced Bears quarterback bratty Jay Cutler on Monday Night Football, allowing but 278 yards of offense.

Cutler was so horrible in that game he hasn’t taken a snap since.

Joe can only hope the Bucs’ offensive line is sieve-like as it was Sunday against Green Bay, and that Josh McCown continues his Santa Claus ways with terrible turnovers.

Uhh Joe just because you want Jameis does not mean he’s going #1. Mariota has to meltdown next Thursday for him to not be going #1. So if anything you should be rooting for a win and a forced choice of Jameis at #2. Lovie is taking the good Christian boy at #1 without a doubt.

    @bucrightoff,

We really don’t know where Jameis or Mariota are going to go. Look where everyone thought Bridgewater and Johnny were going to go in the top 5 or 10. Personally, I’d still take Aim Us For Jameis #1, but I agree Lovie is more likely to go with The Good Boy instead. And I don’t care, just give the Bucs one of the two!!

Considering Tennessee and Tampa are locked into 1 and 2, and that Charlie Whitehurst and Josh McCown played significant minutes for both this year, you can pretty much assume whoever is picking first will be taking a QB, or trading it to someone to take a QB. Mariota and Winston also have much higher ceilings than Bridgewater or the future CFL MVP.

You forgot the Boom Pow!! Lol

I guess I’ll be spending some te on YouTube tom checking out highlights of these two chitlins. Anybody have a good site for game film or is YouTube the best resource.

I watched Marietta for like 1 qrt this year and Winston for like 6 qrt. Needless to say I have no idea which one to pick. As a homer I default to Winston plus I think marriota could get rocked like mclown does on a weekly basis or get knocked out like money Manziel did last week.

Mobile QBs are too risky in the NFL bc everybody is fast and strong. Ie see mccown vs Suh 2014. Lmao.

  5. Joseph Mamma Says:

Marriota is ranked higher on most draft boards so how do you figure that Joe?

  6. JGW1981 Says:

What is with Joe’s inability to scout qbs at the collegiate level? First Manziel and now Winston. Mark my words, Winston will suck as bad as Johnny.

  7. OB Says:

Winston and Mariota play in the Rose Bowl and to me this will tell who we should take if we are the number one pick, which with the same lame troops playing, we will lose big time.

  8. Buccfan37 Says:

I also have not watched much of the two QB’s play. Tough to pick between them from the split comments I read here. I have to fit in with the draft other crowd.

  9. armchairGM Says:

Sean Payton says all starters will play and his team is going to play it as if they were still fighting for the playoffs. For what it’s worth.

  10. DooshLaRue Says:

    Joe likes bad boys.

  11. Buccfan37 Says:

So you’re telling me McCown could have his best game of the year against a pathetic Aints defense? Is Lovie going to run up the score on them with McCown? Lovie says F you to fans who wanted top pick. In Lovie’s mind three wins is respectable.

  12. Cobraboy Says:

LOL @ bucrightoff’s Future CFL MVP comment.

Wanna bet Johnny Football is heading foir Bustb status? Seems to me the Bucs got the best of the Texas A&M dealio. Evans made JF…heck, he’s pretty much made both Buc pathetic QB’s…

The absolute best source for full games of college players is draftbreakdown.com

There’s 21 full games of Mariota and 8 full games of Winston. All games show only the plays in which the particular player was involved (hand offs, defensive plays, special teams, editorials are all cut out). Just the snap, play, and sometimes a replay.

There is a BIG difference in ‘Bad Boy’ and a freak’n IDIOT.

Everyone who did not ready Justice Major Hardings ruling fails to understand that he did NOT find the Rapist Winston innocent. What his cowardly decision stated clearly that the Rapist said it was consensual and the female student says it was rape.

The only one who knows whether she consented or not is the female student. The only one who says NO is the female student. I don’t care if you think he can play football, no one says NO to Jameis Winston and he will do this again.

When he does, what do the Buc’s do for a QB when he is suspended for a year or doing 20 to life for sexual assault. The King Roger will not let one player jeopardize the brand of the NFL and if he even sniffs Winston doing something unlawful he will be done so fast Joe’s head will spin!

I cannot believe anyone thinks the risk this QB with the athletic skills of a man and the mind of a 4 year old is crazy!

Marcus Mariota will at least not be jeopardizing the future by breaking the law!!
